A few weeks ago I received a wonderful gift pack from Yoplait and MyBlogSpark.

It contained a cute insulated lunch tote, coupon for a free cup of Yoplait Lite, a travel utensil set, and a food journal. You will have the chance to win the same prize pack below! I have to say I am in love with my lunch tote! It keeps my food cold for hours on days when I hit the gym in the morning! It is pretty stylish too! Now I will talk a little about Yoplait Lite.
From the Yoplait website:
If you’re looking to side-step familiar decadent treats while keeping calorie counts in check, Yoplait Light and Yoplait Light Thick & Creamy can help. Now there are two new ways to outsmart temptations with Red Velvet Cake and Blueberry Pie, two new taste bud-tantalizing Yoplait yogurt flavors debuting in the dairy aisle this month (Yoplait Light offers 32 total delicious flavors).

With a smooth and creamy texture and 100 fat-free caloriesin each 6 oz. cup, Yoplait Light and Light Thick & Creamy can help keep you on track with your goals. In addition, each serving contains 20 percent of the recommended daily value of calcium and vitamin D. The classic sweet-inspired flavors, Yoplait Light Red Velvet Cake and Yoplait Light Thick & Creamy Blueberry Pie can help to help satisfy your cravings for dessert without the excessive calories.
I used to eat Yoplait all the time as a kid but stopped buying it because of the artificial sweeteners and high sugar content. I decided to try it one more time since I had a free coupon. I went with the Blueberry Patch.

I would never normally purchase this over my usual Greek yogurt because….

Sweetened with aspartame..no thanks. For someone who watches calories and does not care about chemicals, this yogurt is perfect. It has just 100 calories per cup.

I also choose Greek yogurt because it has 15 grams of protein where as this has 5 grams. On a more positive note, I do love the taste of Yoplait Lite!

It is creamy and has delicious blueberries throughout the yogurt. As a child this was definitely my favorite because of the flavor. I had no idea what high fructose corn syrup was back then though! Yoplait does suggest that this yogurt is great for people who would normally choose a piece of blueberry pie over a lower calorie snack. It is 100 calories rather than 360 for the pie.

my tip is out of sight, of out mind! i simply don’t buy a lot of tempting/triggering foods in bulk – such as cookies and candies. instead if i am craving a piece of cake or a giant cookie or something i will stop by a bakery or whole foods and buy and individual portion (or two
) and devour it on the spot.
great giveaway!!

I have two ways to not let tempatation get the best of you.
Hopefully!
First, don’t deny yourself that little treat every once in awhile. Work the calories into your daily totals. If you deny yourself you are bound to binge and eat way more than you should. I have chocolate every day and just figure it into my calories.
Second, try this technique I heard either on a podcast or read on a blog that you just say to yourself, “You can have that (insert food temptation)… tomorrow.”
Perhaps by then your craving will be gone
Oh and drink water!!

I would tell you to chew gum to fight off temptation but that’s like telling you to breathe lol

Drinking LOTS of water and working out are always the best ways to outsmart temptation because: (a) water fills you up (b) temptations are so temporary that after exercising for 15 minutes, you forget about what you were tempted about to begin with!

i drink lotsa water!!!

love that lunch bag – so adorable! i DO give into temptation – just not all the time! if i never let myself have my favorite treats i would be grouchy and craving them constantly. i just indulge periodically and only in moderation

I am newly converted to greek yogurt so I used to eat yoplait a lot. I do still make a healthy snack using their yogurt. I once took the apple turnover kind and had softened apples with it along with a small amount of cool whip and granola. It sure made a temptation of apple pie or cobbler something I could resist!

I love Yoplait! Great giveaway
For me to deal with temptation, I try to let myself eat the things I would normally consider too tempting. That way I know that I always have permission to eat what I crave and that nothing is off limits. So then, all the “temptations” have less power over me!

I outsmart temptation by drinking tea at night instead of snacking on extra food I don’t need

I don’t keep junk in the house, fool proof way to beat temptation!! But I also never deny myself if I truly want something!

load up on healthy stuff like veggies first, then you won’t have as much room for the less healthy stuff

Whenever I am craving something sweet, I just drink some Kefir with some acai berry juice mixed in and it does the trick or blend some fresh berries into it.

I drink lots of water throughout the day and chew gum. I also eat small meals every few hours so I don’t end up ravenous and binge. I totally need a new lunchbox for work – love the polka dots!

My most important thing for outsmarting temptation is make sure I eat enough! If I’m not eating enough each day, I’m way more likely to go overboard once I realize I’m hungry (like it’s license to go all out or something), so I try to ensure I’ve got a steady and fulfilling balance of fuel in me before that happens! Thanks for the giveaway!

My tip is to always be prepared! I keep a healthy bar (usually Luna or Clif Z) in my bag at all times, and make sure I have ample fruits and healthy snacks at work to keep me from hitting the vending machine at work!

I let myself have a little of what I am craving- that way I don’t binge!

If I happen to have tempting food in the house, what I usually do is portion out a serving and eat only that. If that doesn’t work, I head back to the bedroom and watch tv there. No food in the bedroom; who wants to sleep on a bunch of crumbs!

This isn’t an original tip, but….I just don’t buy tempting things!

I outsmart temptation almost every day. Instead of going for candy, I choose Craisins to cure my sweet tooth. It has worked because it’s sweetened, fat free and healthy option than eating a piece of candy.
I’m already a fan of yours on Facebook.

Meal Planning- I make sure on Sundays I sit down and plan out meals and snacks for the week, depending on my schedule. Then I make sure to prep my veggies and fruit for the week so it is handy and easy to pack up each morning.

Thanks so much for the opportunity! On the rare occasions that I do avoid temptations I think to myself how hard I’ve worked and how far I’ve come. Then, usually if I have something else to nibble on like fruit, I’ll be satisfied enough.

Sometimes the best way to outsmart temptation is to give in..but just a little. I know that sometimes if I’m reallllly hungry I need to just eat something or I’ll wind up pigging out. So I pop a frozen grape or three in my mouth and I can ignore my cravings!
