Yoga for Some LightLife Livin’

Good morning on this rainy day. This morning I got up at 6:00 bright and early for the gym. It is so hard to get out of bed when it is pouring and dark but I like the morning routine so I am not letting it stop me.

Originally I was just going to do the elliptical but my legs were so sore from spin yesterday. I decided it would be best to take a break for a day. There was a Vinyasa Yoga class starting at 7 am so I decided to give it a shot.

I was very nervous about trying a new class, especially after watching this guy do head stands as a warm up! The teacher started saying all these yoga words really fast so I was kind of lost in the beginning. I kind of wanted to leave. I decided to just follow the girls around me to figure out what to do. Once I got used to it, the class got much better. The teacher had to correct me a bunch of times but there was another new girl so I did not feel as weird.

The one thing I did not like was the teacher just sat in the back of the room shouting out the poses. I wish she would have been up front doing the poses as an example. The girl next to me probably thought I was a stalker or something since I had to watch her most of the time.

The class went by fast and was a nice relaxing break from cardio so I am happy I tried it. It is nice to have as an option for days that my body needs that break. Back to spin tomorrow :)

Wednesday Recap

I brought one of my new yogurts that I got the night before to try for breakfast.

I brought the plain Better Whey of Life flavor with an Honest Foods Pomegranate Walnut Crisp Granola Plank.

I crumbled the plank in the yogurt and had a cup of Pomegranate Green Tea with it.

I decided I should try a few more flavors of the yogurt before I do a review. Let’s just say I am hoping the other flavors taste better!

I also had the chance to try 3 of the 4 LightLife products that I got at Whole Foods so I will review them instead.

For lunch, I brought the Smart Deli Bologna and Roast Turkey.

All of the Smart Deli products are all natural, made with lean veggie protein, and contain no trans fats. I was really excited to try these since I do not like eating lunch meat with chemicals and nitrates in it.

First I tried the Smart Deli Turkey.

FAT FREE luncheon meat alternative. The great taste and texture of ROAST TURKEY, without the fat, cholesterol, nitrites, MSG and who knows what else of standard luncheon meats.

I love that 4 slices is just 80 calories. I like to pack my sandwiches with lots of “meat.”

The turkey tasted pretty good and was very similar to the real thing. Of course I prefer the texture of Boar’s Head turkey since it is thin and smooth but this is a great alternative.

I also tried the Smart Deli Bologna.

FAT FREE luncheon meat alternative. The great taste and texture of BOLOGNA, without the fat, cholesterol, nitrites, MSG and who knows what else of standard luncheon.

I was very excited to try this because I used to eat fat free packaged bologna all the time until I realized all the chemicals it contained!

I loved the bologna! It tasted exactly like real meat to me. It was so flavorful and was great with the turkey and cheese! I will definitely buy Smart Deli again!

I ate my sandwich with Michael Season’s Baked Cheese Pops.

They were so fun to eat! They are exactly like cheese poofs! Delicious lunch!

I snacked on some dried pineapples later in the afternoon.

The boy and I were supposed to go to Ikea after work. The main thing I needed was a cute rug for my room. The boy saw 2 rugs at the dollar store earlier in the afternoon. They looked nice from the pictures he sent me so we decided to skip the hour and a half ride to Ikea.

We went to the dollar store and the rugs were gone! How did someone buy the only 2 cute rugs they had within a matter of 2 hours? I was so mad! Luckily I am seeing some nice ones on Target.com so I just might do that instead.

For dinner we decided to make Mexican so that we could try the LightLife Smart Ground Veggie Crumbles!

FAT FREE but with all the savory taste of juicy ground beef. Ready to use crumbles for tacos, nachos, burritos, stuffed peppers, and much more.
I cooked some peppers and zucchini with the veggie crumbles.

We also added brown rice and salsa to the pan.

The mix turned out wonderful!

I brought out some cheddar cheese to add to my salad.

I poured the Veggie Crumble Mix on top to make an amazing salad!

Along with a glass of wine of course.

This was so delicious!!

The boy was amazed at how similar it tasted to ground beef! He said he would have never went near something like this a year ago! I love making him a health food convert! We have so many leftovers too! We plan to buy this again and make tacos and a nacho dip! Yum!

Your salad looks SO good! I've never been a fan of the fake meats but it is food that you enjoyed them! Don't eat them every day or you might get an aversion!

I LOVE Voga wine…one of my absolute faves. We have gotten so many people turned on to it – they always think its Voss Water :)

Did you think the Better Whey was nast too? I took one taste and threw it away cuz I thought I bought a spoiled one. Maybe it is just gross.

Meloncauliflower: Yes, the plain was really bad! I couldn't eat it without adding more and more granola. The vanilla was a tiny bit better but still so weird tasting!!
