Last week I promised that I would blog about my workout plan and also made some promises to stop eating the junk food at work. I did a lot better last week with food after writing that post. Every morning, I brought a Greek yogurt and ate it with oatmeal or some granola. I brought a turkey wrap almost every day. When I ran out of turkey, I went out and bought salads. I definitely feel better eating yogurt in the morning instead of greasy eggs!
As far as workouts go, I did more classes than originally planned! See below:
Monday- Went to Refine Method COMPLETE
Tuesday- ”I am Hardcore” (abs class) at Equinox and intenSati COMPLETE
Wednesday- Teach intenSati COMPLETE. Also taught a spin class!
Thursday- Refine Method COMPLETE
Maybe a rest day? Walked for about 2 miles on the beach!
Saturday- Refine Method COMPLETE (tried my first outdoor class…see below!)
Maybe a rest day or spin class Refine Method!
I worked out pretty much every day. I guess you can consider my walk on the beach a little rest day.
Saturday was my first time trying Outdoor Refine Method with Dori! It was really awesome and made me SO sore the next two days.
The class started out with band exercises around the thighs climbing up a hill. I missed this part because I was still running from my car to the park. We did drills jumping through a ladder on the ground and then running up a hill and then back down. I forgot how hard running outside is for me. I literally could not breathe at all and it was a very short distance! I guess that means I need to do it more!
We did a couple of circuits which included VIPR squats (see the amazing photo above), push ups, jumping jacks, tricep and back exercises with ropes (TRX-like ropes), alternating lunges, planks, and more. We finished with sprints up the hill for 6 minutes. We had to time our sprints with stop watches and then the instructor recorded our time. We did this so that if we return to class, we can track our improvement. The sprints kicked my ass but I am curious to see if I can go faster next time around!
I really loved the class and it was a new challenge for me running outside! I hope to return to the outdoor class once a week. A bunch of spectators in Central Park would shout things out to us so that was pretty entertaining. Watching the runners made me extremely happy to be doing Refine. (Can you tell I hate running?)
After class, I had this:
And finally, here is my workout plan for this week:
