I have a very exciting day today! First of all, no work! But..I am still getting paid to work! I am spending the day with my boss! Every department gets to go on a retreat so we got to choose whatever we wanted (with a spending limit of course). We had about 6 different ideas and finally picked 3 of them! I am going to save the details for tomorrow’s post but I can’t wait! For now, I will recap back to Monday and Tuesday!
It’s been very chilly outside this week so I went back to good old oatmeal! I used one packet of Quaker Organic oatmeal with cinnamon, a banana, and Back to Nature Wild Blueberry Walnut granola.
The granola made the oatmeal so good! Loved the blueberry chunks!
For some reason, this only filled me up for 2 hours. Okay, I do know the reason. I forgot the protein! Oops! Well I was dying of hunger so I dug into lunch at 11:30! My lunch is supposed to be at 1:00. Lesson learned!
I made turkey and cheese roll ups with Miguel’s tortilla chips!
I knew I’d get hungry again since I ate lunch so early so I treated myself to a lovely afternoon snack.
Starbucks decaf iced coffee with skim milk and a big bowl of fresh fruit. The fruit is not from Starbucks since they give you half the size for more money!
I was planning on going to the gym after work until my roommate asked me to have dinner! Monday’s are the only days we can ever have dinner together because she goes to church groups every other night so I agreed! I knew my legs needed the rest anyway since I ran 4.4 miles on Sunday! I did walk to her work which took 20-25 minutes..every little bit counts right?
We both agreed on the amazing $2.99 sushi place across from our apartment! I started with Miso soup.
I also got a salad with ginger dressing. Some things never change
I got 2 brown rice rolls, Sweet Potato and Alaskan.
They were both amazing! The sweet potato roll was basically fried sweet potatoes with rice and seaweed! Yum! The Alaskan was salmon, avocado, and cucumber.
We went home and had every intention of walking outside. My head started pounding and her tummy hurt so we got lazy and decided to eat ice cream instead!!
Turtle Mountain Chocolate Peanut Butter So Delicious ice cream with a banana and mystery cookies! (Cookie review at the end of the week!) I was staring at the freezer after my bowl because I reallllly wanted a 2nd bowl. My roommate had to keep telling me to fight it. We both knew how full I was so she took my bowl and washed it. I need her every time I eat ice cream from now on!! I definitely would have had more if I was alone!
Tuesday I had some more oaties! This time I had 2 packets instead of one. I also added Artisana Raw Cocoa Bliss nut butter! Yum!!!!
I stayed full till lunch so 2 packets and some nut butter did the trick!!
Lunch was an opened-face turkey and cheese sammy on Dave’s Killer bread. I wanted to save room for a big portion of Lesser Evil Krinkle Sticks!
My afternoon snack was dark chocolate (3X what you see there), a nectarine, and green tea.
I went to the gym after work and took a spin class. Okay, I got a great workout but the teacher was horrible!! I should have taken a different class as soon as I saw a substitute. Hmm, just imagine Fran Drescher teaching a spin class.
The teacher had the most painful laugh and thick New York accent. She was SCREAMING into the microphone the entire time. Omg, I had such a headache. Seriously she felt the need to sing to the music or yell every 30 seconds!! I really needed ear plugs. I also have this hatred for Bon Jovi (sorry if you like him), especially the songs they play in bars that everyone sings to. You know…”Shot to the heart, and you’re to blame…..” Well, that is all she played. She sung (or screeched) every word. I would have left but I was getting a nice workout so I tried to block her out (very hard). Luckily she works at a location that I will never go to! I burned 428 calories so at least I got something out of the class!
I made a yummy dinner when I got back!! Morningstar Farms crumbles with mushrooms, salsa, and goat cheese!
I had the best chips ever on the side!
All over a salad with organic steamed broccoli.
More ice cream was enjoyed for dessert! I added some watermelon too!
Well I am off to go hit up the gym before my exciting adventures today! I have a feeling there might be a few drinks involved so I figure I should get the gym out of the way first! Don’t want drunk Missy falling off the treadmill later!! I also ate a lot more after I typed this last night blahhh.. Something like 3 bowls of Zoey’s granola?? No idea why, very mad at myself. Oh well, I am off to go do cardio.
Come back tomorrow to read the details about my day off! But first, enter here to win Yoplait Delights, slippers, a bathrobe, spa mask, and lunch bag!

Oh my God, i did NOT just see a pic of The Nanny. I used to watch that show a long, long loooong time ago before I even really understood what she was talking abt! I just watched her for the expressions.
Anyway, glad you had the day off, and wow, sweet potato sushi? They really do that? That's freaking cool!
