Winners and Fall Dinners!

Hello! It was another crazy morning for me! I rushed out to the subway in the gross weather. When it rains, the subway tends to completely shut down. I was halfway to work and we got stuck underground for 10 minutes. They said that there would be major delays due to the “wet conditions.” I had about 7 more stops to go. We were stopped at each one for 5 or 10 minutes! An hour and a half later, I run out on the subway and make it to work a half hour late! So stressful!

I got to work, made some tea, started walking back to my desk, and completely slipped and spilled my hot tea all over my pants! Luckily they were black! Now things are finally calming down a little. At least it is Friday!!

Now for the fun stuff….winners and very cute pictures below!!

2 lucky readers will win HALLS Refresh samples, a coupon for a free half gallon of Silk Heart Health, and other surprise goodies!!

Thursday Recap

I guess I’ll show you my oats today since it’s been a while!

365 instant oats with cinnamon, banana, skim milk, and Artisana Raw Macadamia butter.

It was cold and rainy during lunch so I decided to stay inside. I went up to the cafe since I never feel like bringing my lunch anymore!

I got a Simple Green Salad with tomato’s, cucumbers, shaved radish, carrots, avocado, and sherry vinaigrette. Perfect :)

I also got White Bean and Tuscon Kale soup.

This soup was very good! As soon as I saw it on the menu, I had to try it.

I snacked on a Spooky Z-Bar later to satisfy my chocolate craving!

After work, I went to the gym. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical until my knee started to hurt. I walked on the treadmill for another 15 minutes after that.

I got home in time to watch the Phillies game (they won!) I immediately pulled out my pumpkin beer courtesy of Jaclyn!

At first I thought it was a little strong for me. I am used to light beers so it took some getting used to. After a few sips I decided it was very enjoyable. I really liked the pumpkin flavor and it also got me pretty tipsy after just one! My kind of beer!

For dinner I made an AppleGate Farms grass-fed beef hot dog! I used a slice of Nature’s Pride bread as the hot dog roll. I also had salad and Sabra Spinach Artichoke hummus on the side.

Yummy! I brought the same exact thing for lunch today (minus the beer unfortunately).

Daisy takes after mommy and loves hummus!

She loves her whipped cream too!

I made a delicious dessert with the whipped cream. I baked apples in the microwave with cinnamon and chocolate chips on top. I also added some pumpkin butter to dip the apples in!

MMM! The chocolate, pumpkin, and whipped cream made a delicious mix for the apples! Perfect fall dessert!

So what does everyone plan on doing in this rain?? I have an awesome day plannedfor tomorrow! I am doing a spa day with my sister. I got her an hour massage and hour facial for her wedding and got myself the package too! We are getting it done at Exhale Spa so we get to take a Core Fusion class beforehand!! A massage is going to feel amazing after an intense gym class like that! Can’t wait!

Have a lovely weekend and try not to get blown away!

This makes me happy I decided to forego that food event where I work and work from home. SO jealous of your day tomorrow, I have been craving a facial lately even though I never had one!

    Daisy is so cute!!!

Sorry to hear about the crappy commute. The MBTA in Boston always has problems too.

To combat the rain, I'm doing some shopping at the Prudential Center and Copley. When I have to go outside to walk home, I'm wearing my raincoat!

Wow, a spa day sounds awesome!

It's supposed to snow AND rain here in Amherst, even though it's Homecoming Weekend.

So in the plans are beer pong in our back room, football, tailgating…and oh yeah…a 5K on Sunday morning!

    Have a good weekend Missy!

Ug, that's one thing I don't miss about working in downtown Chicago was the train ride, walk, THEN water taxi to get me to my job – 2 hours one way!

Sorry about the tea spill – at least you didn't get burned.

A few years ago I made ramen noodles, almost got to my desk, and tripped, and the noodles went EVERYWHERE! It took me 45 minutes to clean up!

    Happy Friday!

Daisy is seriously one of the cutest cats I have ever seen…

My plans this weekend are work at the gym on Saturday and then heading to Health Store to support my friend who will be giving out free samples. She started her own caterng business which focuses on Organically Made Gluten Free Foods =)

Daisy and I both have a fondness for the whipped cream. She's a cutie!

The subway system here sucks too. I was treated to a man clipping his toenails next to me last night. Oh, city life.

How do you microwave an apple? Is that a dumb question?

    Happy Friday!
