Update June 8: WINNER ANNOUNCED TODAY
The winner is: Ashley! She said, “I drink protein shakes before and after my workouts.”
Congrats! Please send me your address and I will ship out your case.
I always need some kind of energy boost before working out. Typically I will have coffee in the morning and maybe another cup in the afternoon. Yes, sometimes coffee can make me nauseous if I drink it right before an intense cardio class so I am always on the lookout for other quick forms of energy. Last week, I was excited to try a new product recently launched by Gatorade called G Series Energy Chews.
G Series Energy Chews are the first pre-game fuel Gatorade has created in a convenient chew form, and with 25 grams of carbohydrates it helps athletes fuel before training or competition.
The chews were actually really good and I felt like I was eating gummy bears! I like that the serving size is 6 chews for just 100 calories. I took the chews before a Refine Method class and definitely had a good amount of energy. Since these taste like candy and are a quick way to get energy, I would purchase them again.
Guess what?
The folks from Gatorade are offering one MissyMaintains reader a full case of G Series Energy Chews!
How to enter:
1) Leave me a comment telling me your favorite way to get energy before a workout.
2) Tweet about the giveaway. “Win a case of @Gatorade G Series Energy Chews from @MissyMaintains! Enter here: http://bit.ly/L0ocu5″
I will choose a winner on Friday, June 8. Good luck!

These would be great while running! Right now I use Clif ShotBloks but I would love to give these Gatorade chews a try. My favorite way to get energy before a workout is with a fresh green juice.

I typically have some caffeine in the form of soda a few hours before a workout. These would probably be gentler on my stomach. I would love to try them.

SWEEEEEEEEET!
I normally have a small granola bar, an apple, or half a protein bar. Whatever I feel my stomach could handle. I kind of hate working out with food in my stomach.

i try to have a protein bar about 2 hours before i work out (unless i’m working out in the morning, then all bets are off and i just refuel after!)

Right now I only drink a lot of water before a workout and would love to have something to give me the proper energy I can use before a big workout!

These look great! I usually have a cup of green tea and a handful of almonds an hour or so before I workout

I typically have oatmeal and some fruit/veggies 2 hours before a long run. Depending on how I feel, I may also eat a gel or banana 10-15 minutes before.

I workout first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, but I drink lots of water with orange slices for flavor. Curious about the Gatorade energy chews!

If it’s a morning workout and I have enough time, I’ll have a cup of coffee. Otherwise I just have a small snack!

I used to take a pre workout supplement called Jack3d for energy before my workouts, but just one little jar of it costs about $45 from GNC. Plus, after a while, my body got used to it and it didn’t really do much for me anymore. Now a days I’ll just have a banana or something light because I really can’t find the perfect medium for me when it comes to finding energy right before a workout without feeling nauseas during my workout, such as coffee. I’d really like to give these energy chews a shot.

I don’t really workout much but my two children who are trying out for Jr. Olympics this month workout daily. I give them Clif Kid Z Bars for energy and we are totally interested in trying the G series. I really believe that it would be awesome for my two little athletes as well as the whole tae kwon do fighting team.
I will have to pick up a couple next week for the team. : )

I always like to eat something before working out – a handful of cereal, a few bites of a cliff bar or a couple shot blocks. I’d love to try these!

I was told by a trainer that a quick way to get an energy boost before a workout, when you don’t have anything else, is Dr. Pepper. Kinda like your coffee fix but with way more sugar. Otherwise the Gatorade Pro, and G series and optimum for replenishment and endurance. The fruit chews we tries before in San Antonio, TX at a sponsored event for my son’s Eastbay game. They are great!

@ Luna congratulations & good luck with JO (Jr. Olympics) my son is also competing for track and field AAU Jr. Olympics events as well. He still is holding a record for the 2010 100m and 200m in the midget division. I thought about getting one of those cooling vest to help with restoring his body because its so hot! Your son may compete indoors, but what do you use to help him out.

I always go for sweet but healthy drinks like Banana Smoothies before i go out to play Tennis or go for a log run. It is a great way of preventing cramps because of the high potassium content! But sometimes it doesn’t give enough of that energy boost, Gatorade Energy Chews can hopefully appease that problem.

I am banaynays about bananas! lol. But seriously, half a banana. I would live to try these – I am training for my first marathon and these would be perfect for those long runs!!
