Last night, my friend Jaclyn and I decided to try out a vegetarian restaurant called Wild Ginger. I’ve been hearing such good things about it from other bloggers so I knew it had to be next on the list of healthy places to try.
I loved the inside of the restaurant. It was small and cozy with dim lights, candles on every table, and nice flower center pieces. Jaclyn and I started our dinner right off with a bottle of much needed Chardonnay.
We had no problem at all finishing off the bottle by the end of dinner. In fact, we probably could have downed another one!
We took Marina’s recommendation and started off with the spring rolls.
We both really enjoyed these. They were not greasy at all like typical spring rolls at Chinese restaurants. The sauce was delicious and pretty similar to duck sauce.
Every entree came with the choice of a salad or miso soup. It was a tough choice but I went with the salad.
It contained sliced beets, alfalfa sprouts, and carrot ginger dressing. Unfortunately we both did not like the dressing. I normally love carrot ginger dressing but this one seemed to contain too much ginger. I did not eat most of the salad since the dressing ruined it. Now I know to go with the miso soup next time.
For my main course, I got:
Sauteed Tofu & Vegetables: tofu, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, tofu root, asparagus, sugar-snap peas and cauliflower, sauteed in a rich brown kung po sauce.
It was so pretty with the flower! I really enjoyed this entree! The tofu was firm which is just the way I like it. The sauce was flavorful and delicious. It came with a nice little cup of brown rice as well.
Last night I had no idea what this was:
Now that I am looking at the entree description again, I think it must be tofu root? It was good whatever it was!
Jaclyn’s entree:
Tofu Teriyaki: strips of tofu filet with broccoli spears in teriyaki sauce, over a bed of bean sprouts & onions.
She said her tofu was perfect and delicious as well! She does not normally like bean sprouts but loved the way these were cooked in the sauce.
Ready for this?
I introduce to you….the Peanut Butter Bomb!!!!!
This was the best cake we’ve ever had. It was like a Reese’s peanut butter soft cake with peanut butter mouse on the inside and chocolate fudge on the outside. YUM!!! We could not stop attacking it. I would come back to Wild Ginger any day just to have this dessert again!
I give Wild Ginger an A+! It had a cute atmosphere, delicious food (and dessert!!), and the prices were affordable. I will be back soon!
