Weight Comparison Pictures and Lunch!

Yay! Another package just arrived! This makes me so happy every time!

It was from Crispy Green!

Crispy Bananas, Crispy Apples, Crispy Pears, and Crispy Pineapples!! I have tried all of the flavors except for their newest, Banana!!

You all know how much I love freeze dried fruits!! Look at all the great benefits!

  • Real fruit slices with real fruit taste
  • Natural fruit fiber and nutrients
  • No additives or preservatives
  • Zero fat and zero cholesterol
  • Low in calories-less than 40 calories per serving

These are wonderful in oatmeal! They also make the perfect snack when I get my munchies since they are under 40 calories!! I am sure I will be testing at least one of these before the day is up!

During my lunch hour I went to the gym. I did 35 minutes on the elliptical!

Stats:

Calories Burned: 302

Maximum Heart Rate: 186

Average Heart Rate: 162

I plan to go back for a little more after work too. I may have another big dinner tonight so I have to be prepared!!

I came back to the office and had a wonderful lunch!

Hummus, Mustard, Goat Cheese, Turkey, and Cucumbers on Arnold’s Sandwich Thins!

Veggie Krinkle Sticks on the side of course!!

For dessert I had a Cocoavia! Today I am tasting that blueberry!

I know in my description I talk about how I used to be overweight and then lost too much weight. I never actually showed comparison pictures so I figured now would be a good time!!

Sorry for the blur..that is a picture of a picture! That is me in the blue at my all time highest weight! I think I was around 140 pounds. This was in St. Lucia the summer before I started college. My whole childhood I felt overweight. My sister was always skinnier than me even though we ate pretty similar. My mom was a bodybuilder and was super strict about her diet, but always let us eat junk. I really wish she did not let me eat ice cream every single night after dinner! I knew before college I had to do something because I had a fear of gaining the freshman 15 on top of my heavy weight. Right before the trip in the picture, I decided to read the South Beach Diet book. I learned so many things about whole grains and healthy carbs. I knew I needed to make a change so I decided to do South Beach full out.
I lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks! My body was in total shock because I did not eat healthy at all before the diet. I also stepped on the elliptical for the first time in my life. At first I could not even do 20 minutes. The more I did it, the longer I stayed on. The more weight I lost, the more exercise became an addiction
I entered college with this knew knowledge of exercising and healthy eating. I ended up taking it a little too far. It is not that I didn’t eat. I was just extremely strict with each meal. I remember making eggbeaters in the microwave for breakfast and eating a salad or turkey sandwich for lunch and dinner. I was still drinking tons of alcohol like a college student so I was not completely strict. I think I really lost the weight from over-exercising. This is me at one of my lowest points (on the right):
I got down to 96 pounds. Look at my arms! I did not even realize how skinny I got until my parents came to visit me one day. My mom got extremely upset when she saw me and told me I better do something to gain weight. I got super stressed out because I was overweight my whole life and had a fear of getting back to that. With the help of my friends, I was able to gain a few pounds. I did not do it in the healthiest way. I remember buying cartons of Cookies N’ Cream ice cream and eating half the container. I did whatever worked though and it made my mom happy.
Once I got back to a healthy weight, I continued on with my exercise. I was able to maintain my weight but always stressed about food and gaining. I still do to this day as most of you know…
I still struggle with the occasional binge eating and obsessing when I gain a few pounds but overall I think I am at my perfect weight. Here is the most recent picture of me that I have.

Of course I would be happy losing 5 pounds so I wouldn’t have to stress so much when I overindulge but I know this weight is natural for me. As long as I continue to exercise and eat healthy, I will stay happy.

Have any of you gone overboard and lost too much weight by accident? What did you do about it?

I’m just curious – how tall are you? You look fabulous now :) And don’t worry about indulging! Sometimes when I don’t let myself indulge I end up bingeing! It’s hard to find your happy weight but you seem to have done it :)

I love seeing “before“ and after pictures! This summer I accidentally went to far and dropped below a healthy weight just because I was so busy working and having fun running with my high school track and x-country coach and playing 18 holes of golf a day, plus doing lots of road biking with my parents. SO I just cut back a bit on the exercise and uped my cals a bit and everything worked its self out!

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! I love reading about where people have come to be where they are.

I’ve struggled with losing too much weight a few times in my life…it’s a really difficult line to walk, especially when you have those people who will say, “oh you look great!” and others will say you look like skin and bones. I must say, though, you look gorgeous now and I’m incredibly happy you found your happy weight!

I have DEFINITELY gone overboard with it…and at one point got criticized so much I would go to bed crying and thinking – why am i never good enough for you people?? One day i’m too big and one day i’m too small, just leave me alone!!

But I knew it wasn’t healthy because I stopped getting my period. Warning flag!! So I decided to put on weight by….unfortunately the unhealthy way – eating junk food. And hence my screwed up relationship with food these days. *sigh* But now I’ve hopped on the bandwagon and have so many great examples to follow, it’s much much harder to fail now!!! :) You’re an inspiration for meeee, i’m so happy to know that I’m not the only one going through this and I admire all your honesty in sharing it with us all. :)

Good for you for realizing (even if through the eyes of a parent) that you had lost too much weight, and for getting to an easily maintained place :)

And seriously, how do you score so much stuff?!?! So jealous!
