Hope everyone had a good weekend! I’ll head back to Saturday since I tend to get lazy with blogging over the weekend!
After brunch at the Tower Diner, the boy and I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things for dinner. A few things turned into $55.00 worth of food! Oops!
I did manage to get a few things for free! The 100 calorie fruit can was free along with the Tribe Hummus! Thank you to Pam from Tribe for sending me some coupons! I will be trying it out tonight! I also got the Stonyfield Farm milk at a discounted price thanks to some coupons they sent me!
We got home and made a nice vegetarian dinner! We started off by cooking mushrooms and peppers in balsamic vinegar.
I heated up some edamame in the microwave. I think I left it in too long as you can probably see!
I also made us salads with Newman’s Own Balsamic and Olive Oil for dressing!
Also lots of zucchini, squash and peppers!
And finally, brown rice!
Oh yeah, corn too!
My plate!
So fun picking from all of the veggie bowls. We had lots of leftovers this time!
After dinner, we headed to the city for some Armin Van Buuren!
The show was great! He played from 12 to 5:15 in the morning! Lots of dancing!
We got home around 6:00 in the morning and passed out! On Sunday we got up around 2:00 in the afternoon and decided to go to Applebee’s for some drinks!
I started off with: Applebee’s Bahama Mama: Malibu Coconut rum, crème de banana liqueur, pineapple juice, orange juice and grenadine.
So delicious and refreshing for a Sunday afternoon! I also got a house salad with Lite Italian dressing.
For my main course, I chose the Weight Watchers Italian Chicken Portobello Sandwich: Grilled, marinated chicken breast topped with sliced portobello mushrooms, a slice of tomato and chunky marinara sauce. Served on a wheat bun along with fresh fruit.
It was so good! It had huge portobello slices across the chicken!
I also had some of the boy’s fries!
I would definitely order this sandwich again. It was the perfect size and tasted amazing with the marinara sauce on it!
For my next drink I got, Pomegranate Martini: Full of anti-oxidants, this citrus blast includes ABSOLUT CITRON, POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice, orange liqueur, sweet and sour, and lemon-lime soda.
I tried to make my drink somewhat healthy
Gotta support the wonderful folks from POM too!!
One more drink and dessert!
The drink was an Appletini! The dessert was a Chocolate Mousse Shooter!
Decadent Oreo® chunks, chocolate mousse and whipped cream make this a rich and creamy treat.
The boy wanted us to each get our own shooter but just one was 430 calories! My drunk self was still smart enough to make us share one! It was perfect and so delicious of course!
We went home and I took a much needed nap. We woke up and had a snack of Chobani, grapes, and an Erin Baker’s Chocolate Brownie!
I am officially out of the brownies! I am definitely going to stock up on more when I find them in health food stores. So delicious!
I was having a nice relaxing day until my parents decided to call me and scream at me about my boyfriend. They said that if I marry him, they are done with me. They said the most important thing about a relationship should be if the parents approve. I disagreed and said it should be about me being happy. Basically we went back and forth screaming at each other at the top of our lungs.
I told them I did not want to go to Florida with them if I am going to have to deal with this. It’s so frustrating because they have never even seen us together. They judge him about his age and background and won’t give him the time of day. My mom hung up on me and I hysterically cried for a while. My boyfriend had to watch the whole thing and kept his mouth shut but it breaks his heart when he sees me going through that. He wants to call them and stick up for himself but I know they won’t give him a chance no matter what. Blah it sucks.
It was time for more drinks after that.
More POM and rum!
Around 10:00 we finally got hungry again so had a bunch of random snacks for dinner. First we had Mozzarella Cheese and pickles!
Next we had Cape Cod Chips and hummus!
Along with leftover corn and rice from Saturday!
Dessert was some Turtle Mountain Mocha Almond Fudge Ice Cream!
It had swirls of fudge and big chunks of almonds!
I added a crumbled Newman’s Own Hermit to our ice cream!
Along with some banana!
And whipped cream!
Delicious! The ice cream was creamy with a coffee and chocolate flavor. You could barely taste the coconut which is why I loved it so much! I loved biting into the almonds too!
We stayed up watching CSI till 1:00 in the morning. He got me hooked on that show so now I stay up so late every night! Gotta go make some coffee! Have a good day!
Contest!
Oh She Glows’ Chocolate Giveaway!

Ugh, I am so sorry you had to go through that with your parents. I’m not a parent, but I would definitely want my (make believe)
child to be happy over my approval of their SO! So they have never even met him?
At least you had a great weekend other than that! I LOVE Fuze. I wish it weren’t so $$. And trips to the store to “pick up a few things” never end well for me, either.

I had the same problem with my ex…always drama with the fam and him in the end we broke up for other reasons but its so stressful when the family doesnt approve!

Is age seriously the only reason they dont like him? or is there some other reason that i missed? Age is JUST a number. unless he’s 60 and up (please, please, please tell me he’s not!), i dont know why age would mean a thing. is he older or younger than you? its not up to them, and that is really shitty of them to drop you from their lives for making yourself happy. Im really sorry to hear you’re going through this. I honestly dont know what i would do in your situation. just follow your heart!

Holly: They met him a few years ago when we first started dating. My mom took me in a room and told me I better not be dating him just because he had tattoos and what not. He was very nice to them too so it is very annoying.
I found the Fuze on sale for $1.25 so I stocked up! Usually it is $2.00! Way too much!
Julie: Thanks, I am trying. I told them that we get even closer when they do this to me so they should back off. If we broke up, I would like it to be my own choice!

Baylee: His age is just one of the reasons. He is older but does not seem it at all! They think he is controlling just because he calls me a lot but we were long distance for a while. He is not controlling at all. I can go out whenever I want. They think I’ll never have money if I am with him too. They are really judgemental about it all.

girl…. i tell you.. i went thru the same thing with my boy! luckily my parents were not that bad, but because of my boys background they were NOT happy at all (he doesnt have tats tho.. just a crappy upbringing and the tendency to make really STUPID choices sometimes.. email me for more details if you want..lol) they did eventually come around, but he is still on edge about hanging out with them. i dont blame him! kudos to your man for sticking by you thru all the parental drama, it shows hes in it for the long haul!
sorry you are going thru this. i know how it feels!!
you get three entries in the contest! ; )thanks!

Aww, I’m so sorry about your parents
I hope things work out. They need to chill and realize that YOU are happy! They should be happy because YOU are happy! I get the feeling that Bobby’s parents aren’t always that happy with me (they are just incredibly… old-fashioned and uptight) and it’s so frustrating. Sigh, parents.

I have been through this situation twice with my parents, and I have realized (in hindsight) that they really had my best interest at heart. However…parents do have a tendency to judge the people that their children chose to be with, whether their concerns are founded or not.
My parents came around many years ago, and now they are happy as long as I am happy. Just be patient with them, and don’t argue with them about it. They’re already treating you as a child who can’t make her own decisions, and by arguing with them over it, you’re filling the role they want you to. It’s not worth stressing yourself out over. If you are truly happy, they’ll see that in you and get on board.
