Today I would like to talk about 3 delicious sauces I had the opportunity to try over the past couple of weeks. You may have heard of these sauces if you subscribe to Hungry Girl! Sometimes I am a little skeptical about certain products Hungry Girl recommends since many of them are processed and contain chemicals. Vivi’s Carnival Mustard Sauce on the other hand is all natural and contains no artificial ingredients or preservatives!

Vivi’s Sauce comes in 3 flavors:
- Classic Carnival Mustard
- Sizzlin’ Chipotle Carnival Mustard
-
Roasted Grandstand Garlic Carnival Mustard

I was very happy to see that this sauce is low calorie and all natural. I’m sure many of my readers would also be happy to see that it is vegan (hi Aunt Gail) and gluten free (hi Mom). Vivian sent me a list of recipes for different ways to use the sauce. One of her recipes was a tuna melt so I decided to use the sauce as a replacement to mustard in my usual tuna sandwiches.

I spread some of the Roasted Garlic on a whole wheat English muffin and also mixed it in the tuna.

I added some lettuce and cucumbers to add some crunch to the sandwich.

I really enjoyed the sauce mixed with the tuna! It tasted like a mix between ketchup and mustard. It had a nice little spice to it and gave my sandwich a very unique flavor.
Another one of Vivian’s recipes is called Veggie Platter & Vivi’s Dipping Sauces.
Ingredients:
- 1 tray of assorted cut-up and sliced veggies: carrots, celery, cucumbers. broccoli, red & yellow peppers, tomatoes
- 2 dipping sauce serving bowls
- 1 12 oz. jar either Vivi’s “Classic” or “Roasted Garlic” for straight dipping
- 1 cup Vivi’s “Sizzlin’ Chipotle”
- 1 1/2 cups fat-free yogurt

I used Greek yogurt since it is nice and thick like sour cream.
Directions:
Mix Vivi’s Chipotle with the yogurt and chill in one sauce bowl. In the second bowl pour the other flavor of choice and chill. When both are chilled serve with veggie platter and enjoy!

I decided to use the Roasted Garlic as the 2nd sauce for dipping.

I made a lovely veggie plate with red peppers, cucumbers, celery, and carrots.

Both sauces were perfect for dipping the vegetables in! The Chipotle sauce was very spicy but also perfect when mixed with the yogurt. It kind of reminded me of French dressing. This would be a nice healthy dip for parties instead of fatty sour cream!

I made a delicious salad for dinner last night to go along with my veggie plate.

My salad contained grilled mushrooms and peppers, cucumbers, brown rice, corn, avocado and shredded mozzarella cheese. I decided to use the Classic Carnival Mustard sauce as dressing!

The Classic gave my salad a nice little kick. It was similar to adding hot sauce/French dressing to the salad.
Vivian also recommends using the sauce on omelets, as a crab dip, with tofu, and on chicken. I love how versatile the sauce is and plan to try it in more recipes soon! You can purchase Vivi’s Original Carnival Mustard Sauce online here!
Questions!!
1) How would you use Vivi’s sauces?
2) What is your favorite kind of dip?? Mine is hummus of course!!!
I am off to the gym for some Total Body Conditioning! Have a nice night!

Yum, these sauces sound fantastic! I love mixing red hot, or salsa, with Greek yogurt. I really think it’s a great combination. I’m sure these sauces would be just as good mixed with Greek yogurt, yum.
I also really like hummus, especially flavored with different spices like extra garlic or red pepper. SO tasty.

I find that Hungry Girl recommends scary things for desserts because she’s all about the artificial sweeteners. I’ve made some of her entrees, however, and they’ve been good.
It’s a toss up between hummus and salsa for my favorite dip. Or guacamole.
