This ice outside is driving me crazy. I almost slipped 10 times just now! Last night after work I got a ride home from my friend. It was nice not having to take the subway but his van slipped all over the place! I was holding on for dear life! Very scary!
I did manage to make it to the gym after work. Driving there took exactly the same amount of time as the subway due to lovely NYC traffic. I got to the gym at 7 and decided to do some treadmill action before my 7:30 class. I walked most of the time but jogged for about 10 minutes. I burned 170 calories in the half hour.
I usually take Total Body Conditioning on Tuesdays but I felt like I needed a nice cardio session so I chose spin instead. I am very happy I did because it was a great class and felt nice to break such a sweat. The teacher came around and adjusted my bike for me which I loved. I felt much more comfortable than usual on the bike. I burned 400 calories in spin for a total of 570 calories for my workout. Very nice!
I came home very nervous to go into the kitchen because I found out that my roommate caught a 3rd mouse when I went to sleep on Monday! EW!! My landlord is working on getting us an exterminator thank god! She actually had the nerve to say that this will be the last time she will use a private exterminator. We will have to go through the co-op from now on. Last time we went through the co-0p, they sent over 2 guys from maintenance who did nothing! They covered the holes with spackle which the mice can obviously eat through! Such a mess!
I did manage to make dinner, of course with my shoes on so no critters would run over my feet! I wanted something fast so that I could get out of the kitchen as soon as possible! I decided on a turkey wrap since I missed out on my turkey sandwich at lunch!
- Whole Wheat wrap
- 2 slices Alpine Lace American Cheese
- 2 slices Boars Head Low Salt Turkey
- Cucumbers
- Lettuce
- Pickles
- Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
- Spicy Mustard
With a side of Baked Lay’s, more cucumbers, and hummus!
I was back asleep by 5! I was still soo tired when I woke up though. Today’s subway ride included a homeless guy snoring soooooo loud for the entire hour. It was disgusting!!- Smart Balance Instant Oatmeal
- 1.2 banana
- Cinnamon
- Skim Milk
- Gerber Freeze Dried Apples
- Honest Foods Apple Ginger Bar
So good!
Today for lunch I decided to go to the gym because I am not sure what tonight’s plans are. I did a nice 30 minute treadmill workout:
The sandwich included mustard, hummus, turkey, cheese, lettuce, and cues on an Arnold’s Sandwich Thin.
With a bag of Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps for the side.

Missy, tell the co-op to get a brillo-type stuffing for the holes. The mice cannot chew through that! when momma-dukes had mice in her co-op they stuffed the holes.
Yum on the sammie!
Mo needs PopChips. Just wanted to let you know that.

Yummy sandwiches!
Thanks for your comment on my blog!

I am sorry for your mouse trauma – I can sympathize with pest issues and landlords who don’t do enough about it – I had bedbugs in my last apartment! Even now that I’m in a fantastic apt, the paranoia lives on. Every fleck of lint or crumb must be a bug coming to get me!

Great eats! I actually had some of that Sabra Red Pepper hummus today!
Thanks for the comment on my blog today…it takes a lot of soul searching to find something you’ll be truly happy doing! And for me, it’s constantly evolving, the more I’m exposed to!

Some great workouts Missy! I’m glad your instructor adjusted your bike as that always makes a huge difference for me. I never get the bike set up quite right on my own.
Turkey wraps – always a perfect meal.

Totally agree I get so pissed when my iPod falls off the treadmill/I yank off the headphones by accident. GRRRR….It’s just pretty annoying when your workout gets cut short pre-maturely.
BUT you still had a fabulous workout!! GOod for yoU!!! And pop chips? I’m still in!

did you have one and a half of a nanner in your oats, or 1.2 of a banana? haha. i love the “exact” count, whether by accident or not. too funny
subway rides are a real gamble.

I really need to have the spin teacher re-look at my bike adjustments but I am so scared to ask..lol.
Your oatmeal looks great and I never thought of putting the Gerber dried fruit in it.

Carolinebee: I was so scared at first too but you should try it! You can make the resistance as easy as you want till you get used to it! Great workout!
Kelly: You can come anytime for a nice turkey sandwich!
Emily: Thanks! That means a lot
Elise: I had 1/2 the banana yesterday! I just failed to cut it in half before I took the picture!
Melissa: The Clif bar is Blue and Purple. It is probably just my bad lighting!
