The Salsa Diet

I am home again. I went to the doctor and he told me I have bronchitis. I was planning on coming to work today but I was up all night coughing again! I figured they would send me home anyway if they heard me coughing nonstop. I am on antibiotics now so hopefully it goes away soon!

Now you might be wondering what the title of this post is all about. Well last week, I received 6 bottles of salsa from Don Sabrosa.

I now have about 20 jars of salsa in my apartment! I decided to try a different bottle with every single meal yesterday.

About Don Sabrosa Gourmet Salsa:

Using all natural ingredients, we produce the highest quality gourmet products that deliver great taste. Taking a unique blend of top grade fruits, herbs, and vegetables our salsas have been winning acclaim from people everywhere.

It’s a tasty and fun snack, but remains low in calories and high health benefits. And we have a heat level to suit every taste. Our Gourmet Salsa comes in hot and mild with blueberries, peaches, and honey, roasted garlic, and black bean and corn. Our salsa is an all natural product with no preservatives, low sodium and is gluten free. It contains no water and no fillers of any kind.

It is also low in sugar and contains no fats. Of course, all of these would matter little the Gourmet Salsa wasn’t also one of the greatest tasting salsa available.

I made an egg white burrito for breakfast so of course I had to add salsa!

I decided to try the flavor that was most unique to me first.

It was Mild Salsa with Blueberries, Peaches, and Honey. I was not too sure how this would taste but I was pleasantly surprised!

The salsa was nice and thick and had a slightly fruity taste to it. I liked that the mild flavor still had some spice to it. The website explains how many health benefits there are in this salsa!

Blueberries
High in Antioxidants
Helps Vision
Improve Neurological Function
Prevents Cholesterol Build Up
Helps Urinary Track Health

Honey

Definitely a winner! It would go great on salad and fish since it has fruit in it too!

I snacked on an apple and Chocolate Better ‘N Peanut Butter a few hours later.

For lunch, I had leftovers from Mary Ann’s Mexican the night before! I knew this would be another opportunity to try more salsa!

I decided on the Milk Black Bean & Corn flavor. I had half of a leftover bean burrito, brown rice, and guacamole to go with it!

This salsa was wonderful! Check out all the beans and corn in it!

I added some salad for a delicious lunch.

I had some Vitamin Water with it as well.

I had a Vitabrownie and whipped cream for dessert!

After lunch, I went to the doctor and then to Core Fusion. I felt fine besides the coughing so I wanted to make use of my week pass! I went to the Central Park location for the first time. It was so fancy! The locker room was 3 times the size of the downtown location. They had warm neck pads that you could relax with before the class!

I took the class there because it was with Dori’s favorite teacher. She raved about her and told me I must take a class with her! Dori was right; the teacher was very energetic and helpful. She came around and adjusted me a few times and was so nice about it. I will definitely try to take her class again before my week is up!

I got home and knew that I had leftover pasta with vegetables from the other night to use up. I originally made the pasta with Miguel’s salsa but I decided to try a third flavor of Don Sabrosa this time!

Since the first two flavors I tried were mild, I brought out the Hot Roasted Garlic this time.

I added it to my salad. It was great… but yes, very hot! The garlic flavor was not too over empowering but gave it a nice kick.

I added pasta on top of my salad with mushrooms, squash, and more salsa!

Delicious!

Dessert was an Oikos (I chose that over Chobani thanks to Dori’s post about Food Inc. yesterday!) with grapes and chocolate chips!

I have to say that the Salsa Diet might be the only diet I could actually stick with for a long time! I had no problem eating it with every meal! Yum!

I am off to go make some breakfast! Not sure what else I am doing today! Have a good one!

ugh. You have to get better before the weekend! Hope you feel better soon. But sick days ARE fun…right? I'm okay with them as long as I'm not puking my guts out or anything.

20 jars of salsa?!! WOW. I do love salsa, though. I could easily eat it with every meal, too! My favorite is mango or peach. SO sweet and yummy.

Bronchitis is the worse! I had it in April and felt like death though.

We love Salsa as well. I really like the Better than Fred's Salsa. You should give that brand a try as well.

Aww hope you feel better! That's no fun.

I could definitely stick with the salsa diet! I think I feel fuller faster when I eat spicy things so that would keep me from overeating! Riight. :)
