"The Body" Exercise Class & Yummy NY Eats!

I had a busy Saturday planned out for today. I mentioned in my previous post that I would be taking a new gym class! The class was at 12:15 so I woke up and had some cereal.

I had a mix of Kay’s Naturals French Vanilla Protein Cereal and Meghann’s Mix of MyWayCereal. They still have yet to send me my own mix which defeats the whole purpose of the website. I made a great personalised cereal and would love to try it! Oh well!

I added half a banana and skim milk.

I can never have just one bowl of cereal!

The class I tried was called The Body.

Body is a 55 minute high energy class designed to effectively trim, tone, lengthen and strengthen the body.

This is a proven method. Based on a combination of movements taken from Pilates, Yoga, and flexibility training.

Using fast paced exercises at the ballet barre, specific postures and extensive core work, you will achieve quick results for a graceful, youthful, sexy Body.

Our clients can expect to see results in only a few weeks but consistently taking classes will help you achieve THE BODY.

I took the beginner class:

BODY Beginner: A basic full Body workout that targets all major muscle groups. Clients are introduced to the positions and sequence of the fitness method. We recommend our clients to take several beginner classes before advancing to the next level.

I had plans to take the class with Dori. I was supposed to meet my mom after the class because she came to New York today since my sister is leaving for France tonight for the next month. Yesterday I was talking to my mom online and she seemed very interested in the class! She actually works out every day and used to be a body builder so really wanted to try the class! I called and reserved a spot for her.

She showed up…wearing zebra striped stretch pants!!!!!

Dori and I tried not to laugh but it seriously was hilarious. My mom loves to dress all funky but sometimes she thinks it is still the 80′s!

The studio and locker room were tiny which might be my only complaint. The locker room was cute though with pink sofas and Bed Head hair products!

The studio looked just like the Physique 57 studio! It was carpeted with ballet barres going around the room.

We started off with arms. I used 3 pound weights but the exercises were nonstop and killed by the end! We did tons of leg exercises using the ballet barres and our own body weight. We did similar moves to Physique 57 but this was even more painful!! My legs burned and shook so much that I had to stop a few times! My mom could not believe what kind of pain she was in! She may work out every day but she has been doing the same exercises with the machines for years now so this shocked her body.

We finished off the class with abs using exercise bands. I really liked everything about the class except for the small space it was in. The teacher was energetic and corrected us a few times since we were beginners. My mom did not like that the teacher kept calling out her name but was glad she helped her form.

My mom and I seriously could not walk after! Our legs were so sore! I can’t imagine what they are going to feel like tomorrow!

We met my sister after and had lunch at Eatery. I could not take pictures since my family does not know about my blog but everything was delicious!

They served corn bread with powdered sugar on top to start! So good!! I got the Japanese Egg White Omelet: Shitake Mushroom, Tofu, Japanese Eggplant, Plum Glaze, and Pickled Cucumber Salad.

It was delicious! The cucumbers were topped with pickled ginger. I also had some of my mom’s sweet potato fries. They were perfect! I would definitely eat here again!

We went to The Lite Choice after! I got a small with 1/2 Cookies N’ Cream and half New York Cheesecake. Delicious as always!

A few hours later I got home and the boyfriend was snacking on popchips. I brought out another bag for myself and a Blue Moon! I can’t watch someone eat popchips and not have any!

I ended up passing out till 8:00 at night after my snack! My body was aching from the class and i was exhausted from waking up super early this morning!

Around 9 or 10, we decided to go grab some dinner at Applebee’s.

I started out with a Hurricane: Myers’s Dark rum and Captain Morgan spiced rum mixed with sweet and sour, pineapple & orange juices with grenadine.

MMM! I also got a house salad with lite Italian.

My main course was the Italian Chicken Portobello Sandwich from the WW menu:

Grilled, marinated chicken breast topped with sliced portobello mushrooms, a slice of tomato and chunky marinara sauce. Served on a wheat bun along with fresh fruit.

So good!!

The boy got the Garlic Herb Salmon:

Grilled salmon topped with garlic herb butter and served with almond rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables.

Very exciting to me that he ordered salmon because he used to be completely against fish! He loves it now!

I got another drink before we left!

Yumm! Now we are just watchin some tv and havin another drink or two of course. We are considering going to Bronx Zoo tomorrow since everyone told me how much better it is than the Queens Zoo! We’ll see how the weather is!

Have a nice night!
