"The Body" Class and F-Factor Diet Lecture!

I started off with a bowl of oats today.

McCann’s Irish oats with granola, banana, and FitNutz peanut butter.

Sorry for the horrible picture. I took it inside my desk so no one would see! I really enjoyed this peanut butter mix. I guess it is similar to PB2 which I’ve never tried before! The only issue I had with it was that the powder spilled all over my black pants! Yucky! I was a little more careful today lol.

Lunch was another peanut butter and jelly with Kay’s Naturals Lemon Herb Protein Chips.

I had more snacks in the afternoon. I was in slight binge mode with everything going on! I had a Z-Bar, banana, and ate a lot of granola out of the tub. Blah.

The Body

Yesterday I mentioned that I was going to a fun exercise class after work. About a week ago, I received an e-mail from The Body about their one year anniversary celebration. They offered guests a free class and a lecture from Tanya Zuckerbrot, nutritionist and creator of the F-Factor Diet. I tried a class at The Body once before and loved it! It is a Lotte Berk Method style class very similar to Core Fusion and Physique 57. Of course I took advantage of the free class last night!

I walked in and they had wine! I considered having some and going to class drunk but I decided that it was probably a bad idea since a lot of balance is involved during class.

They also had fruits and veggies.

I helped myself to a little of both.

Tanya Zuckerbrot gave a wonderful lecture about her F-Factor Diet book and nutrition tips in general.

About the F-Factor Diet (from her website):

Unlike most diets that tell you to cut out certain food groups like carbohydrates or fats, The F-Factor Diet™ has you focus on what foods to add into your diet in order to lose weight. It is this essential difference that makes The F-Factor Diet™ unlike any other program you have ever tried. From Day 1, you’ll be eating protein, fats and carbohydrates. For the first time, you will lose weight effortlessly, without the typical feelings of deprivation and denial associated with dieting.

The F-Factor Diet™ is more than just a weight loss program. Yes, you will lose weight, but you will also feel better than ever before. You will see improvements in your skin and hair, your energy levels, your cholesterol, while reducing your risk factors for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, colon cancer and breast cancer.

The diet basically focuses on increasing fiber intake. She also talked about the food groups, portion control, and holiday tips to prevent weight gain. She was a great speaker and gave a great little nutrition lesson in about 45 minutes.

The class around started around 7:45 after her lecture. It was exactly like Core Fusion. It was a great class and my legs were aching when I left! I had such issues walking up and down the subway stairs. Good pain though!

I got home around 9:30 starving for dinner! I made a big salad with cucumbers, avocado, hummus, and Pepper Dog salsa.

I also had some Hummus Maximus Dr. Krackers on the side.

Loved these crackers! I will do a full review once I try all of the flavors!

I had apples with chocolate chips, whipped cream, and pumpkin butter for dessert!!
Yum!

It is lunch time so I am off! Hungry hungry!

SingleEdition.com Question of the Day! (3 days left of the contest!)

How to Let a Date Down Easy

Being in my Early 40′s, successful, not sure Im going to have kids and single, I’m finding the qualities in a man have shifted from those in my 20′s and 30′s. I’m meeting some great guys, mostly online. They have their stuff together, successful, maybe have kids and possess a ton of the qualities I look for in a partner (fantastic on paper)…but…there’s no chemistry, no romantic connection, no physical interest. As much as I try to be open, I know a second date wont stir that spark. If he asks me out again after that first date….what do I say, how do I be honest without hurting his feelings?

Thanks for your input!! Have a good one!

Gina is giving away Barney Butter! Check it out!

Sorry about the all the stress Missy :( I'm sorry that you're in such a difficult situation!

That class sounds fun, what a cool event. I'm a big fan of wine, but I'd also hold off right before a class :)

wow that sounds like a fun event. hang in there girl.

I usually just say, I enjoyed getting to know you, but I don't see this going any where long term, so in fairness i don't think we should continue seeing each other. Mabe a little nicer though

I am sure everything will workout in the end. It may not be the outcome you are looking/hoping for but I am sure it wont be as bad as you think it will be…

just try so stay positive hun.

Oh I love that good pain =)

In regards to the question, I would just be honest and let them know that you didn't feel a connection but that they are a great guy. Why drag it out?

    Hi, gorgeous!
First, I have a question– is the F Factor Diet like the Five-Factor diet inwhich you consume 5 smaller meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism up?

Also, you can definitely make it known that you've enjoyed getting to know him and appreciate the dates but that the timing isn't right (or some easy non-offensive excuse) but you hope to remain friends…

    Good luck :)

For the question, I'm a big believer in honesty. So I would tell the person that I just don't feel the spark I need to feel when I'm in a relationship. Also, why waste someone's time or your own? You both could be spending the time with someone who's a better match than dragging out a relationship that isn't working.

Missy, I wish you luck in the situation with your parents. You shouldn't let it ruin your excitement about being in a magazine!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!

I always say "I didn't feel a connection". It's to the point, but not mean.

From Here To There: The F-Factor diet is a little different than the 5-factor diet. It is more about getting enough fiber in your diet. Ultimately the author was trying to lower her client's cholesterol levels by increasing their fiber intake. This led to weight loss along with lower cholesterol levels.

Kasey: The brand I have is Bauman's pumpkin butter. They sent it to me to review on the blog but it can also be found at Whole Foods and other health food stores. It is delicious!

Thanks for the giveaway shout out!

So they offered WINE before an exercise class? I find that so strange! I mean, I figure it wasn't huge servings, but still!

I don't really understand the difference between this F-Factor diet, and just a healthy diet plan based off of the food pyramid and the dietary guidelines. It sounds like this lady just took the dietary guidelines and made it into a "different diet"….I dunno if I'm into it! I appreciate the post though, I like to read about different diets that my clients may be asking about.

oh, I love those crackers too – the parmesan ones are a bit too much for me but the regular flax ones are great!

AMazing, this has happened to me before i met henry.
When i used to date I was honest up front about the date. Being honest is the best way and if her date asks her for a second date, my answer would be something like "As much as I really like you Mr.X, I don't feel that we have that romantic connection. I do not see us going anywhere more than friends. And please forgive my bluntness but I feel that this is better than going on another date that would only be misleading" or she can say "Call me" and not pick up the phone… :-D

Well unfortunately I'm no good for dating advice because I haven't had much experience there myself.. :) so i'll leave that one to the other posters.
