A Hike and Rave

Hello! I had the craziest weekend but unfortunately I do not have most of the pictures because I lost my third Droid on Sunday night. I will get to that story a little later. Let’s start off with Saturday morning since I went on a lovely hike with Outdoor Bound. I bought a Groupon a couple of months ago and got half off of the price of the hike! You may remember me going on a bunch of hikes with the same company last year:

This time around, my sister and I went on the Diamond Mountain Hike. This was a 6 mile hike in Harraman State Park. For just $30 with the Groupon, a van picked us up in the city, drove us an hour away, and took us on a beautiful hike with a surprise lake. We had a great time, especially because our tour guide was a hottie!

The best part of the hike was lunch time! We got to tan by a lake and eat our Lenny’s turkey wraps!

It was nice to be away from the city for the day. We arrived back around 5pm which meant….alcohol time! We met my sister’s husband at a restaurant called Lavo because they were having a big daytime drinking party! It was insane by the time we got there! Everyone was wasted out of their minds. I needed to catch up fast.

After a few glasses of champagne, we headed to some guy’s amazing apartment in the city.

A girl can dream right? The apartment and view was so beautiful.

We had a few drinks there but left for a little Mexican dinner break at Lime Jungle. Corona please!

The best part about Lime Jungle? The unlimited salsa bar! I had a blast with this!

After having my own little salsa and chip fiesta, I ate a delicious whole wheat burrito with chicken, black beans, and other veggies.

I tried some steak fajitas too. Awesome.

We finished our night at a rooftop bar called Highbar. I drank several Coronas, vodka shots, and glasses of champagne.

On Sunday, I woke up on my sister’s couch and decided that we were going to intenSati! Equinox has kindly opened their guests lists this week in preparation for the LOVE flash mob on Friday! If anyone wants to try a class with me, shoot me an email! My sister enjoyed her first class and already wants to go back!

We passed out in Sheep Meadow for hours afterwards (the closest thing we have to a beach here in NYC).

I decided to keep the fun going and went to a warehouse party in Brooklyn with a couple of my intenSati friends that night! Who goes to a dance party at 8pm on a Sunday night? Me! It was called the Body & Soul Reunion at Industry City. It was a big rave pretty much. I love my house music.

We danced and drank a lot. Goodbye Droid.

I now have an iPhone so I am not too upset (just very broke). Lost phones usually equal amazing weekends!

Margarita Pride

One of the highlights from Pride Day for me was stopping at Rosa Mexicano for some margaritas and lunch! After watching the parade for at least two hours after doing an intense workout, I desperately needed some good food and strong drinks! I enjoyed watching naked men for quite a while but eventually decided that they would be even more fun to stare at after some tequila! I had never been to Rosa Mexicano before Sunday and it happened to be across the street from the parade! I was a little worried about the steap prices but as soon as I heard about their amazing, pomegranate margaritas, I was in!

I was expecting one drink to be about $20 at a place like Rosa Mexicano but it was only $14! I know…still kind of expensive but the margarita was super strong, delicious and exactly what I needed at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon!

There were five of us at the table so we ordered a large bowl of guacamole and chips to start. It is always a good sign when they make it right in front of you! We got our own little guacamole show.

Hell yeah.

I would go back there just for the guacamole. Amazing! I also loved that they served us chips, along with mini tortillas and two different dipping sauces.

It was time for a second margarita before our meals even arrived! We all thought we weren’t drunk from the first drink but it definitely hit us about five minutes later. Gotta love tequila.

It was one of the toughest decisions of my life deciding what to order from this menu but I eventually went with the Vegetable Tacos: a skillet of market fresh vegetables: portabello mushrooms, roasted beets, asparagus, string beans, Swiss chard, and garlic topped with fresh herbed cheese. Served with flax seed tortillas and red beans.

It was also served with red bean chorizo chili, corn esquites, and chile de arbol salsa. I need to start studying my Spanish again. Don’t ask me what any of that means.

I really enjoyed every single part of my meal! The vegetables were so fresh and flavorful and I especially loved the cheese on top! It was also super fun making my own tacos while drunk! You can probably tell from the photo that I could not see straight….

It was more than enough food and probably made about six little tacos. Lisa kept ordering more and more tortillas so I don’t even know how many we really had! The service at Rosa Mexicano was also amazing, but probably too good because the Busboys kept trying to steal our food before we were finished!

City Harvest Winner and Weekend!

Friday

After work, I went to happy hour with my coworkers for our Secret Santa exchange. We went to a cute place in the West Village called Art Bar. I highly recommend this bar if you would like some inexpensive drinks! They have $3.00 glasses of wine, beer, and well drinks from 4pm to 7pm. A $3.00 drink is very hard to find in New York!!

My Secret Santa got me two perfect gifts! She read my blog and noticed that I don’t know how to cook!

I promise I will try to make some of these recipes soon! She also read that I make espresso before my morning workouts.

Saturday

My day started out with an intense Core Fusion Cardio class with Dori! I haven’t been to that class in months but still love it so much! After class, we went to our first bra fitting at Intimacy. Let’s just say that I’ve been wearing bras that do not fit me at all for years! I won’t go into too much detail but I will say that every girl must get a professional fitting! My real size is totally different from what I thought it was! No more Victoria’s Secret for me!

Later that night, I went to 5 Burro with Mari, Mo, and Tiffany from Simply Shakah! Tiffany is in town from North Carolina so we decided to take her out for the best margaritas in Queens!

I started off with a Strawberry Banana margarita. So so good.

I went with the Roasted Vegetable Mexican salad. Delicious as always!!

Blogger in action…

After dinner, we headed to our usual bar for some more drinks.

I enjoyed several shots of Kettle One with Vitamin Water. Best drink ever!

Sunday

My friend from IntenSati Leader Training taught her first class yesterday so of course I had to show my support! She did amazing and inspired me to teach my first one in the next week or two. I am checking out a studio this week and plan on booking the room when I am there! Scary but exciting! I need to just do it instead of talking about it every day!After her class, we headed to Equinox for an intenSati double! Perfect way to end the weekend! Usually I don’t leave my apartment on Sundays so I plan on making this a Sunday tradition!

Refine Studio Launch Party and Margaritas!

It is finally Friday! I am not going to say happy Friday because Melissa made a good point today-we are all still at work! Maybe at 7:00 tonight when I have a drink in my hand, I will shout, “Happy Friday!” For now I will just continue on with my blogging and tell you about the party I went to last night!

Dori and I went to the launch party of a new fitness studio called Refine. Dori knows Brynn, the founder of the studio since she used to be a Core Fusion instructor! Brynn taught Lotte Burke Method style classes for 5 years and eventually decided to open her own studio.

The class sounds like it is very intense! We walked in the studio and saw pulleys all around the room.

I decided to try one out for myself! Nothing wrong with a little strength training in a skirt!

Dori’s turn…

Brynn showed us some more ways to use the pulleys.

They seem very challenging! The classes only hold 12 people so each student is guaranteed individualized attention. The students also have the option of keeping a food diary and getting measured during the program. This is great for people who really want to see results and stay on track with their eating. I plan on trying the class in the next couple of weeks so I will report back with a more detailed review!

Next we went upstairs to see the rest of the studio.

There was a beautiful food spread and a ton of wine!

I had 2 glasses of Riesling.

I had some chips and hummus as well (I forgot to take a picture of the giant tub of hummus). Dori and I both agreed that they were the best chips ever.

I love Edible Arrangements! So pretty!

Cheese!

I told you they had an amazing spread of food!

I stuck with a few chips because I knew we were going out for a Mexican after! Had to save room for the margaritas (and the food).

I am really excited to try a class at Refine! Dori and I both plan on hosting a free blogger class so that you can try it out too! Stay tuned for more details!

After the party, we met our friend Melissa and headed to Cilantro for some dinner! We all got giant margaritas!

I love the chips at Cilantro! They are a mix of veggie chips and tortilla chips!

I got the Veggie Fajitas! I tried them once before at Cilantro and loved them! Look at those veggies!!

I also got whole wheat tortillas and extra guacamole instead of sour cream.

Deliciousssssss!

I have lots of leftovers to eat for lunch soon! Can’t wait! The only thing missing will be the margarita. That will have to wait till later…
