<p>Last night I had a lazy dinner because I was so exhausted from waking up at 5:30! I picked up some <strong>Subway</strong> and watched the Olympics for the whole night. </p>

<p>I got a <strong>6 inch whole wheat</strong> with<strong> turkey, ham, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, sweet peppers, and mustard</strong>. I have chocolate <a href="http://www.foodshouldtastegood.com" target="_blank"><strong>Food Should Taste Good</strong></a> chips on the side. Oh..can’t forget that <strong>Bud Light Lime</strong>! Nice relaxing Friday night! </p>

<p>This morning I woke up at 9:00 for <strong>Core Fusion</strong>. I was starving when I woke up so I had a little pre-workout snack. </p>

<p>I had a spelt cake with peanut butter and jelly. I love the spelt cakes! They are like rice cakes but with only 3 ingredients and just 20 calories for one! </p>

<p>This little snack (plus a coffee) did the trick! </p>
<p>I met<strong> </strong><a href="http://www.dorishinyblog.com" target="_blank"><strong>Dori</strong></a> at the Central Park location for class. Dori had her stuff in a locker and I was about to put mine in there too since there were no other lockers open. It was a madhouse today! This woman came up to her and asked for the locker. Clearly we were using it. She looked pissed and walked away. Saturdays always seem to be psycho day at Exhale. Dori and I made sure to reserve a spot on the bar since some lady stole Dori’s spot last week! </p>
<p>The class was really good! The teacher was so nice and played great music. I felt like I could actually handle abs today which never happens. </p>
<p>After class, I headed into Chelsea to meet <a href="http://aveggiegirl.blogspot.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Marina</strong></a> and <a href="http://www.thesaladgirl.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Maggie</strong></a> at a vegetarian restaurant called <a href="http://www.blossomnyc.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Blossom</strong></a>! I met them both before but they never met each other so we decided to have brunch together. Blossom was very cute inside and was surprisingly not busy at all. There were so many delicious looking options on the menu. All 3 of us ended up going with the same thing since we saw someone else eating it. </p>

<p>We got the <strong>Tofu Scramble: </strong><em>Fresh tofu sautéed with onion, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, and soy sausage. </em><em>Served with toast and salad.</em> </p>

<p>This was delicious! It tasted just like eggs! I really want to learn how to make tofu like this. I loved the soy sausage chunks too! Yum. Maggie and Marina headed off to Whole Foods but I decided to go home since I knew I’d be tempted to buy everything in the store! </p>
<p>I got home and had a little snack since I was still kind of hungry from such an intense workout this morning. I had <strong>Brown Cow Vanilla yogurt</strong> with <strong>grapes.</strong> </p>

<p>It did the trick! I am off to go shower because I am probably going to an opera tonight! My friend from work is actually the star in a show called <strong>Bluebeard’s</strong> Castle and I’ve been dying to hear her sing. Should be fun. </p>

<p>Happy Friday! I&#8217;ve had quite the day already! It all started when I woke up at 5:40 for <a href="http://www.exhalespa.com"><strong>Core Fusion</strong></a><strong>.</strong> I made it out the door by 6:05 and thought I&#8217;d make it on time for the 7:00 am class. My train finally came after waiting 10 minutes. Some days it comes right away but you never know at that time of morning. About half way there, we were stopped for another 10 minutes. They said a train was broken in front of us. I decided to hop off and get on another train which drops me off pretty far from Core Fusion. At 6:55 on the dot, I got off the subway, found a cab, and told him to speed to class!  $8.00 later, I rushed into class 5 minutes late and found my spot next to <a href="http://www.dorishinyblog.com"><strong>Dori</strong></a><strong>.</strong> It was very stressful since they charge you <strong>$35.00</strong> if you miss a class. Luckily I only missed the warm up and part of the beginning plank.</p>
<p>The rest of the class was very good. Our favorite teacher, Kate, is always very challenging but extremely helpful. We have her scheduled for every single Friday from now on. After class, I stumbled to the subway. I have to take 2 subways to get back to work. I ran onto the 2nd subway and it was going in the<strong> wrong direction</strong>!  I had get off and get back on again at some random stop. It was not fun walking up all of those extra subway stairs since my legs were incredibly sore from my week of gym classes! The worst part is that I did the same exact thing on Wednesday! I will never learn.</p>
<h2>Exercise Class Reviews</h2>
<p>I wanted to talk about some other gym classes I took this week! On Saturday I decided to try a class at <a href="http://www.equinox.com/Join/Default.aspx"><strong>Equinox</strong></a> called <strong>WillPower and Grace</strong>. The website describes the class as:</p>
<p><strong><em>A cardiovascular fusion of calisthenics, dance principles, yoga and Pilates. You will use your own body weight as resistance to tone your muscles and practice exercises to enhance your posture and walk with more confidence.</em></strong></p>
<p>It sounded very similar to Core Fusion so I knew I had to try it before my Equinox membership ended. I walked in and we were told to take off our shoes and socks. I don&#8217;t really like being barefoot in sweaty studios like that. Hello foot infections. I took my socks off anyway since everyone else did. I don&#8217;t even know how to describe this class. We did weird flowy movements and stretches the whole time. We did really fast squats andlunges. It was nothing like Core Fusion. I kind of could not wait for it to be over. It was a little too weird for me and it did not feel like a workout. Oh well.</p>
<p>There was a class right after called <strong>Cardio Sculpt.</strong>This one was right up my ally. We used weights, a step, and a weighted ball. We did fun cardio moves while holding the ball and then weight exercises while walking up anddown the step. I was drenched during this one. If I ever joined Equinox, I would take this one every weekend. I was glad I left the gym feeling like I actually worked out!</p>
<h2>New Core Fusion Challenge!</h2>
<p>Sunday was a nice rest day. Monday and Wednesday morning, I went to <strong>Core Fusion</strong>. I really like going Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays before work. It will be perfect for the <strong>new challenge</strong> I am taking on this month called <strong>Buddha Camp!</strong></p>
<p>The challenge runs from <strong>Febuary 1st to March 31st</strong>.  <strong>How it works:</strong></p>

<p>This will definitely motivate me to go at least 3 times a week! I like prizes <img src='http://www.missymaintains.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  After seeing <a href="http://dorishinyblog.com/2010/02/02/core-fusion-challenge-results/"><strong>Dori&#8217;s results</strong></a> from her first month of the challenge, I&#8217;d be happy doing Core Fusion every day! She lost 4.3% body fat and barely did any cardio! Amazing!</p>
<h2>inTensati</h2>
<p>This is the last week of my <a href="http://www.satilife.com"><strong>inTensati</strong></a> challenge! I went on Tuesday and Thursday and have my finale class on Sunday. I will do a more detailed summary of my likes and dislikes of the class once the challenge ends. Overall it was an amazing experience and I really enjoyed each class. I am definitely going to miss it but   luckily they offer some free classes so I will be able to take it every now and then! I will take measurements on Sunday as well since I took them before this challenge. I don&#8217;t really notice my pants getting any looser but we&#8217;ll see!</p>

<p>I can finally get online! My computer at work has a virus so it lets me online for about 5 minutes at a time. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!</p>
<p>Yesterday I mentioned that I went to a gym class before work that was <strong>NOT </strong>fun. It was called <strong>Body Definitions</strong> and I thought it would be a typical weight training class. It was at 7:45 am instead of 6:30 am so I got to sleep as late as possible! It sounded like a nice idea at the time.</p>
<p>I walked in and we were instructed to get a <strong>body bar, mat, step</strong>, and <strong>weights</strong>. We started doing all of these weird moves using the step and weights at the same time. The entire class was lunges and squats while doing arms and stepping up and down. Maybe I would have tried to do these moves better if the teacher was not so mean! She actually kind of scared me. She kept correcting me but not in the nicest of ways. She kept telling me to stick my butt <strong>out</strong> during arms but now I am used to sticking my butt <strong>in</strong> at Core Fusion! I decided to just leave 10 minutes early because I could not stand to listen to her anymore.</p>
<p>I tried to stop for <strong>oatmeal </strong>on the way to work but the health food store only had weird kinds so I got a <strong>power sandwich</strong> instead!</p>

<p>Love these things! I can&#8217;t believe they are only <strong>210 calories</strong> and just <strong>130 mg of sodium.</strong> So impressive! They fill me up for a really long time too!</p>

<p>A new deli opened up by my work so I decided to try it out for lunch. I got all kinds of yummy vegetables.</p>

<p>I munched on some soy crisps as well.</p>

<p>I went back to the gym after work for <strong>inTensati </strong>since I didn&#8217;t consider my morning class a real workout. I had to take 2 days off from inTensati because of my knee and really missed it! The class was amazing as always. It is always completely packed when <strong>Patricia Moreno</strong> is teaching. We did the same routine as Saturday&#8217;s class which I really liked. It was still extremely challenging but I was able to concentrate on doing the moves all out instead of just worrying about what came next. I burned <strong>410 calories</strong> in the class. I made sure to do some extra stretching afterwards to prevent my knee from getting any worse.</p>
<p>There was a <strong>Whole Foods</strong> right near the Equinox I went to so of course I had to go in! I had tons of coupons to redeem for the blog so I can finally get caught up on some reviews! I got a salad to take home as well. Yes..2 days in a row.</p>

<p>It contained <strong>kale, squash, detox salad, baked tofu, edamame, roasted vegetables, cabbage,</strong> and <strong>soba noodles.</strong> Delicious!</p>
<p>Dessert was <strong>grapes</strong> with <strong>whipped cream</strong> and a crumbled<strong> Z-Bar</strong> that I heated up in the microwave for 5 seconds! It makes it taste like a warm chocolate chip cookie <img src='http://www.missymaintains.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
