Last night I attended a special intenSati event at Chelsea Studios called, LOVE YOUR BODY, MOVE YOUR BODY. The event was hosted by two amazing intenSati instructors, Natalia Pertzela and Erin Stutland.

I take Natalia’s class every Thursday and Erin’s class every Friday at Equinox but jumped at the opportunity to take a class where they would be teaching together! Yes, Natalia is due to have a baby in 2 months and looks that amazing! It is good to know that intenSati is safe for pregnant women!

The class was an hour and a half and really fun! Natalia and Erin both have so much energy so I love when they teach together! There was a plank contest in the middle of class and I managed to be one of the last people to hold the plank! I guess I can do any exercise full out when there is a competition involved! I especially loved the fun dance combination that we did to end the class.

There were lots of cool sponsors at the event like K-Swiss. Did you hear that Jillian Michaels is the new face of K-Swiss? Love it!

A very cute (and Sati-like) apparel line called IAMMAI was also there offering discounts on all of the gear.

Blueprint Cleanse was also there with samples of all the juices! I loved every single one but am in no hurry to try a cleanse again after my Organic Avenue experience. If I do try another one, it will definitely be Blueprint!

After the class, I went home and made a grilled chicken sandwich with Laughing Cow, avocado, popchips, and a salad.

Yes, the chicken was pre-cooked from Trader Joe’s but I am still proud of myself for making dinner! I never show you my food these days so here you go!

Erin and Natalia will be holding these events every month so I will keep you updated of the next one!

Endless Sushi!

Last night I discovered an amazing sushi restaurant that all of my New York readers must experience at some point! My roommate has been trying to take me there for months now but it is located in Great Neck so is pretty difficult to get to. Luckily I brought my car to New York recently so we decided to drive there last night. The restaurant is called Sushi Palace and is all-you-can-eat for just $20.00! I usually try to avoid places like this because I immediately think of two things: 1) low-quality sushi 2) eating way too much. I am not good at the whole stopping when full thing, especially when there is delicious sushi on my plate! My roommate assured me that the sushi was fresh and made-to-order so I agreed to try it. Sushi Palace is also BYOB (oh yeah)!

Jackie and I drove there and it was just 20 minutes away from our apartment in Queens. There was even a free parking lot behind the restaurant (a very rare luxury in New York). We arrived at the restaurant around 7:00 p.m. and did not have to wait for a table. It did get very busy about an hour after that so I would recommend going on the earlier side. We were handed an appetizer list and sushi list and got to check off anything (almost everything for us) from the menu! We took full advantage of the $20.00 all-you-can-eat deal. Talk about sushi coma! I’m going to go ahead and say that we got our $20.00 worth! I loved everything that we ordered besides the tofu (just because it was too slimy for me). I can’t even put into words how delicious the rock shrimp was! All of the sushi was very fresh and the food came out super fast! The service was incredible for such a busy restaurant. If you are able to visit Sushi Palace, do not leave without trying the Red Bean ice cream! If anyone needs a ride to Great Neck, do not hesitate to ask me. I’d be happy to eat at this restaurant again ASAP!

Salsa, Sushi, and Sati Summer

Today was a perfect and relaxing summer Sunday. I started off my day with a great intenSati class taught by my girl Darbi. I was not even planning on going because I was super tired this morning and just wanted to stay in bed. I happened to wake up ten minutes before I would have had to leave and saw a text message from my fellow Sati friend asking me if I was going. I told her I was laying there debating with myself but her text was enough for me to get my butt up and go. I am so happy I did and felt like a new person afterwards. Class was really fun and I even forgot about the fact that I did not have my usual espresso before the class. I also loved that I seemed to know every single person in the room. After class, I found out that they were giving free chair massages at Equinox! Yes please!

I walk by the massage chairs before leaving the gym all of the time but always assumed that they cost money. Amazing discovery! The massage only lasted about five minutes but felt great! I must admit that it was nice having a guy give me a massage because I usually go to the woman who paints my nails! I was very glad I shaved since he definitely rubbed down my legs. Anyway….a bunch of us grabbed lunch and headed to The High Line for a relaxing afternoon.

I love that I had absolutely nothing planned for Sunday but just going to intenSati kept me occupied for the whole day. While I essentially go for the amazing workout, it is also a huge part of my social life. I would definitely only have about two friends if it weren’t for intenSati!

I am now enjoying fruity wine and an Amy’s burrito!

I had another super relaxing day on Saturday. I thought about going to the gym or to Core Fusion but I knew my body needed a day off. I only went to Core Fusion four times this week even though I had hoped for five. I could do a Core Fusion DVD right now but I know I need to listen to my body and give it the rest it needs. I will get back there tomorrow morning now that my muscles have had some time to recover. I did work out a little bit by cleaning my bedroom and learning a new intenSati series! I am teaching again in two weeks so now is the time to prepare! I had a fun time dancing around in my kitchen and yelling out positive affirmations!

Since my oven is unplugged and my apartment is super hot, I decided to pick up breakfast from a local cafe. I got an egg white mushroom and feta cheese omelet with whole wheat toast. I also got a big iced coffee and chocolate Zico coconut water. Let’s just say I was a little hungover from the night before!

Lunch was a veggie burger sandwich with frozen broccoli (heated up in the microwave).

I watched several Netfix Instant movies including Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead (I need to start juicing again), Twelve, and Happy Accident. Loved them all! I also treated myself to some sushi and wine!

I enjoyed some salad and edamame to start.

I also got an Eel Avocado roll and Dragon roll with brown rice.

Delicious! I don’t know why but I also had some cereal before bed. Same old story.

Back to Friday night….

I went to one of my favorite classes of the week- intenSati with Erin Stutland. I was miserable walking in but happy and energized walking out. A few of us went out for some drinks after class at a cute bar in Union Square called Lillie’s.

I always get drunk so fast after working out. I guess dehydration and not eating dinner till after drinking will do that to you. We went to a club afterwards called SOBS for some salsa dancing.

I do not salsa dance which meant standing at the bar and consuming several Cosmopolitans while watching my friends dance. Eventually I gave in and let the Latino boys spin me around which is not too smart after so much vodka. I did know the basic steps so it was not a total disaster. It was a super fun night, especially since it ended with Magnolia Pistachio cupcakes!

I will be spending the rest of my Sunday evening with my wine and kitty!

A Hike and Rave

Hello! I had the craziest weekend but unfortunately I do not have most of the pictures because I lost my third Droid on Sunday night. I will get to that story a little later. Let’s start off with Saturday morning since I went on a lovely hike with Outdoor Bound. I bought a Groupon a couple of months ago and got half off of the price of the hike! You may remember me going on a bunch of hikes with the same company last year:

This time around, my sister and I went on the Diamond Mountain Hike. This was a 6 mile hike in Harraman State Park. For just $30 with the Groupon, a van picked us up in the city, drove us an hour away, and took us on a beautiful hike with a surprise lake. We had a great time, especially because our tour guide was a hottie!

The best part of the hike was lunch time! We got to tan by a lake and eat our Lenny’s turkey wraps!

It was nice to be away from the city for the day. We arrived back around 5pm which meant….alcohol time! We met my sister’s husband at a restaurant called Lavo because they were having a big daytime drinking party! It was insane by the time we got there! Everyone was wasted out of their minds. I needed to catch up fast.

After a few glasses of champagne, we headed to some guy’s amazing apartment in the city.

A girl can dream right? The apartment and view was so beautiful.

We had a few drinks there but left for a little Mexican dinner break at Lime Jungle. Corona please!

Carbs please!

The best part about Lime Jungle? The unlimited salsa bar! I had a blast with this!

After having my own little salsa and chip fiesta, I ate a delicious whole wheat burrito with chicken, black beans, and other veggies.

I tried some steak fajitas too. Awesome.

We finished our night at a rooftop bar called Highbar. I drank several Coronas, vodka shots, and glasses of champagne.

On Sunday, I woke up on my sister’s couch and decided that we were going to intenSati! Equinox has kindly opened their guests lists this week in preparation for the LOVE flash mob on Friday! If anyone wants to try a class with me, shoot me an email! My sister enjoyed her first class and already wants to go back!

We passed out in Sheep Meadow for hours afterwards (the closest thing we have to a beach here in NYC).

I decided to keep the fun going and went to a warehouse party in Brooklyn with a couple of my intenSati friends that night! Who goes to a dance party at 8pm on a Sunday night? Me! It was called the Body & Soul Reunion at Industry City. It was a big rave pretty much. I love my house music.

We danced and drank a lot. Goodbye Droid.

I now have an iPhone so I am not too upset (just very broke). Lost phones usually equal amazing weekends!

Bienvenido a Miami!

Happy Friday! I am off of work today so I’ve just been cleaning and blogging all morning! Now that my bedroom is spotless, I can do a recap of Miami! My roommate and I left at 5:00am on Saturday morning after spending all night at Target. We were both really excited about the trip because the only plan we made beforehand was to relax on the beach. Daisy was sad to see me leave.

Saturday

We arrived at South Beach Saturday morning and walked around Collins Avenue while staring at the beautiful palm trees. We stayed at the Princess Ann Hotel which was on the same street as all the great shopping!

We were starving after the plane ride so we went to a diner near our hotel and had an awesome brunch.

I got a spinach and mushroom omelet with whole wheat toast and fries. We headed to the beach after and enjoyed the perfect weather.

Palm trees make me so happy.

We decided to go to Mango’s for dinner because my coworker told me that they have the best fried chicken salad there.

It was good but we had plenty of better meals in Miami. The restaurant was really loud and the waitresses were all dressed slutty. There was some pole dancing going on inside!

We also split the ribs which were amazing!

As we were eating, we saw a big crowd of people taking pictures of a car. I went over just to see who it was and someone told me it was Flowrider! All of the girls were screaming when he got in his car. It was pretty entertaining. I find it funny that he got arrested yesterday for driving with a suspended license!

Later that night, we headed out to a club called Mynt. We asked a promoter to take our picture and it made us get on a skateboard. Not easy in heels.

The club was so much fun. It was all house and techno music which I love! The security guard kept us safe and gave us the scoop on everyone in the club!

Sunday

We had the perfect hangover breakfast at Jerry’s Famous Deli that morning!

I got a spinach and feta cheese omelet with whole wheat toast. I don’t usually like potatoes but those were delicious!

We relaxed on the beach for the rest of the day while drinking Coronas and vodka.

Later that night, we ate at MedI Bar and Grill because we noticed how good the bread looked! The beers were great too of course.

After dinner, we went to the gelato place from Jersey Shore!

So many people stopped in just to buy the shirts that the cast wore!

We had a few more drinks and then headed back to the hotel and passed out pretty early.

It is tiring drinking all day on the beach!

Monday

We woke up and continued drinking Bellinis!

We decided to go all out with breakfast that morning.

This was seriously my favorite breakfast ever. I need french toast every day of my life.

We chilled on the beach for the rest of the day.

We ate at Park Central Cafe for dinner. I swear we all we did on this trip was go to the beach and discuss what our next meal would be. Love it.

We got some more mussels.

We also started off with yuca fries. I love fried anything.

I decided that I needed some greens so I got a BBQ salmon salad with grilled corn, onions, and bacon vinaigrette. It definitely hit the spot.

We decided to go to B.E.D. for our last night out.

It was fun being with one other cute girl in Miami because promoters came up to us all day and invited us to clubs for free. KC the promoter got us free bottle service all night! This does not happen in NYC.

We relaxed in bed and drank vodka all night!

I needed this the next morning!!

I actually could not drink anything. I was super sick all day from the free vodka!

Our last breakfast….

We tried to lay on the beach but I could not handle the heat while hungover. We walked around instead and enjoyed the scenery.

I watched the boys working out on the beach! Jackie and I brought our sneakers and wanted to run outside but this never actually happened. We did a ton of walking at least.

We enjoyed one last meal before heading to the airport. Amazing fried calamari to start!

I got a grilled chicken and avocado sandwich with salad. Loved this!

Every meal we had in Miami was delicious! It felt great to eat two meals with real, quality food instead of snacking on packaged junk all day. I am happy to say that I did not chew one piece of gum in Miami!! I am getting much better with that. It was a great four days and nice break from NYC. This weekend I will be continuing the partying since my birthday is tomorrow! I will be starting off the day with free intenSati in Central Park and spending the rest of the day drinking on a rooftop!
