Sunday Outdoor Run!

Good Morning! Normally I’d be all blah since it is Monday but this week is a going to be a good one! I get to take off an entire day this Wednesday to go on a retreat with my boss! I think we are getting manicures and maybe some spa treatments. We are deciding at lunch today. Friday I get off at 1:00 too so it will be a nice short week! Saturday and Sunday I am going to a 2-day music festival on Randall’s Island (Electric Zoo) so I am extremely excited.

The rest of my weekend was pretty good. I will start from where I left off on Saturday! Around 6 I heated up more Chinese food leftovers.

Steamed chicken with mixed veggies, brown rice, and salad with ginger dressing. I had a Coors Light with lemon too :)

Dessert was grapes, a Cranbran Vitatop (so good), and a piece of a frozen Hershey’s bar. I needed my chocolate!

After dinner I took the subway to Central Park. Paul Van Dyke, one of my favorite house DJ’s was putting on an outdoor concert. I skipped paying the $45.00 to get in and just listened from outside. He was really good!

I got back around 11 and was hungry again! I made an open faced turkey and cheese sandwich on Dave’s Killer bread. I had some pita chips and hummus on the side.

I also had a delicious nectarine.

You know you like my cutting skills!

Sunday

I woke up around 10 starving again! I got out some ingredients to make a nice omelet.

I made a mushroom and goat cheese omelet!

I had a slice of Dave’s Killer bread with Crofter’s Organic Superfruit spread. I also had some POMx so I could wake up a little for a workout!

I waited 2 hours for my food to digest and decided to attempt an outdoor run. I have a 5K in 2 weeks so I needed some practice! I also just got the Nike+iPod so I wanted to calibrate it and see how far I ran during my previous 35 minute run. I did some research on MapMyRun.com and found that 1 time around the path at Flushing-Corona park is 2.18 miles. Last time I ran around it 1 1/2 times so I most likely did over 3 miles.

This is what the park looks like! Very pretty scenery!

I ran around the path once so that I could calibrate the Nike+iPod. It told me I ran 2.7 miles but it was more like 2.2. I knew it was not completely accurate because I had to do a lot of zig- zagging since the lake tends to overflow on the path. It was very muddy!

I waited a few minutes and decided to run around the path again! I wanted to see how accurate it was. The 2nd time around was a lot harder than the first. I wanted to stop but was so determined to calibrate the Nike+iPod so I kept going. I got this pain at the very top of my left leg too. The pain is still there so I need to figure out how to stretch it.

I finally reached the end and it said I ran 2 miles so I changed it to 2.18 to make it more accurate.

Stats

Run: 2.18 Miles
Duration: 23 minutes and 23 seconds
Pace: 10’43″
Calories:190

My heart rate monitor said I burned 250 I think so I believe that more. I thought I ran much slower so I was very happy with my stats! Now I am just very worried about the hills for the 5K since this track is completely flat. I will do my best though!

I walked around the track one more time to cool down. The sun was out so I wanted to get some color too! I ended up doing 6.6 miles total for the day.

Total Stats:

Calories Burned: 725
Maximum Heart Rate: 191
Average Heart Rate: 157

It’s funny, when I don’t run for a week or two I really dread going again. Today I woke up and really wanted to go for a run! Unfortunately I would have to wake up at 5 am if I wanted to run on that track before work since it is a 20 minute walk just to get there. I don’t feel comfortable running around my neighborhood (I get lost and there are weird men) so I will just stick with it on weekends!

I made a protein drink after my long workout.

I was craving watermelon too so I picked up a nice big tub on my way home and topped it over Chobani.

I sat around and read for a while and got hungry for some dinner! I made a turkey and cheese panini.

So much better when it is grilled! I had salad and tortilla chips on the side. Oh and hummus of course.

My roommate came home so we watched I Love You Man. It was a cute movie.

We snacked on some Cape Cod popcorn (x2).

Along with some Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream! (x2).

Both bowls of my ice cream were huge. I always feel so snacky on Sunday nights. I guess because I am bored and only think about food! I had cookies too but am saving those for a product review this week! Oh well!

Ow, ever since I hit my head on the freezer, I’ve been having bad headaches! Could this be a concussion? I’ve never had one before. Who knows??

I have no work to do as usual so I guess I am off to go read blogs!

Today is the last day to enter my Dave’s Killer Bread Giveaway! I will be choosing a winner tomorrow and a new amazing giveaway will begin!!

MMmm. that omelette looks delish! Definitely get your head checked out.. if you wait too long it could get worse and take months to heal. That happened to me a few years ago and it was not fun. Good luck!

I know what you mean about the weird men–I have a lot of them here where I live. There is no way I can run outside around here without attracting a LOT of unwanted attention…

Get your head checked out! There could be something wrong, and it's best to be safe. I hope everythings okay!

Yikes, that is scary, girl!! Have you googled concussions? I would def. get it checked out if the headaches don't go away. Be careful!!

I am SO snacky on Sundays, too! Think it has something to do with the fact that I hate my job. :-)
