Sunday at the Zoo!

Happy Monday. I am going to recap back to yesterday since it was a very eventful day once again! This might be more of an animal blog than a food blog post but trust me, they are cute!

I woke up and was craving chocolate milk for some weird reason so I made a nice big cup!

I am like a little kid when I drink chocolate milk. I blow bubbles till it overflows! Around 1, boyfriend and I were too lazy to cook breakfast so we went back to the Tower Diner. They are probably sick of seeing us since we are there every day of our lives! We tried two other diners in the area and they did not compare so we will just be some Tower Diner regulars!

We started off with some fresh squeezed orange juice. I usually don’t like orange juice too much but I had a cold for the past couple of days so it seemed like a good idea.

I got the usual…an egg white omelet with mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and feta cheese! The boy’s meal came with sausage so I made him get turkey sausage so I could have some! I also had some whole wheat toast with butter and jam.

He got french toast, eggs, bacon, and ham!

Of course pudding too!

We had plans to rent bikes in the park. I also have been dying to go to the Queens Zoo since i found out we could walk there. It was already 3:00 and the zoo closed at 5:30 so we decided to go there first and bike ride after if we had time.

We walked about 20 to 30 minutes to the zoo. It was small but cute for Queens! The only thing I was upset about was the lack of monkeys. Monkeys are my favorite so we plan to go to the Bronx Zoo soon!

First we saw some cute bears!

Bald Eagle! So cool!

We stopped for a nice healthy snack from the vending machine: an energy drink and 3 Musketeers!

We both had 1 bite of the 3 Musketeers but had to throw it out because it was all yucky and melted.

Next we saw sea lions! They were so cute! Look at that smile on his face :)

This was the boy’s favorite, a coyote!

Me in front of the bird area.

Parrot that would not talk to me!

Porcupine!

Owl! I loved him! So creepy but cool!

Pumas!

I forget what these were called but they were soo cute. They looked like stuffed kitties!

Pretty swans!

Yes, boyfriend tried to change his shirt after breakfast but I told him he had to keep it on because I like to support popchips!

Goats! I played with his horns!

Llamas!

I forget the name of this thing but it was cool! Something like a bull! Sorry, he wouldn’t turn around for the picture!

Another cool goat.

My boyfriend liked this one!

We stayed until closing at 5:30 and then walked around some more in the park. We walked over to the science museum to see if it was still open!

It closed at 6 so we could not go in :( Maybe next time!

We kept walking and found the Queens Art Museum! There was a band playing outside so we went in to check it out. They were having a big event for bike month!

There were giving out beers for $1.00! Of course we stopped to get some. Too bad it was last call!

They had some crazy bikes outside! It was like an episode of “Pimp My Bike!”

We stayed out and watched the band play for a while and decided to walk home since it was getting chilly out.

This used to be a fountain at the World’s Fair!

We were in drinking mode after having the beer so we went home and had a little vodka!

We still had my boyfriend’s meatballs and my Buitoni Ravioli leftover from last week so we decided to make that for dinner.

We started off with some salad.

I cooked up some extra mushrooms and topped it over my leftover raviolis!

I also added 2 meatballs!

I only ate about half because it ended up being way too much food and I wanted to save room for dessert!

An hour later, dessert was Turtle Moutain Chocolate Obsession ice cream with a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s Cheesecake Brownie!

This was plenty but in my head I knew there was only a tiny bit of chocolate left in the carton. I made my boyfriend make me the rest. He told me no at first since he knows I always regret it later but I insisted haha.

It was worth it! I am going to try to stop eating ice cream every single night of the week because it has become a habit instead of a treat. I will still have some sort of chocolate though because I can’t live without it! I just need to prepare for this bathing suit weather!

I am off to go get some work done. I want to be outside instead of stuck in this office! Blah! Have a good Monday!
