Subway Disaster Once Again!

Did I ever mention how much I hate the subway? The machine just stole $60.00 from me!! I was on my way home from my sister’s apartment needed to refill my Metrocard. I slid my credit card through the machine along with the Metrocard. The charge went through and I got my Visa back. I did not get my Metrocard back though! It just never came out and the machine said I needed to call some number. I asked the guys working behind the booth and they told me there was nothing they could do.

I started yelling at them and got so stressed that I started crying and stomped up the stairs back outside. Everyone probably thought I was a psycho. I called my friend who calmed me down and told me I should just call my credit card company later. I never ever get a receipt printed for some reason so I felt like they wouldn’t believe me. I went back down and one of the MTA guys gave me the number to call and a form to send in. He let me in the subway but I am still very stressed about getting this money back. Once I was through the gate, my train took a half hour to come! Gotta love it.

Good news is we found a bridal dress we liked so that is one less thing to stress out about. I hung out with my sister for a while after and watched a movie (can’t remember the name right now.)

We both got a little hungry around 5 so we had some decaf coffee and a Chocolate Almond Kashi bar.

Kashi bars are another snack that are not allowed in my house. They are too similar to eating a candy bar so I used to eat 1..or 2…for no reason. It was a nice treat today since I have not had one in so long.

I planned on going food shopping when I got home from my sister’s but since the subway took forever and it was FREEZING out, I decided I should go on Sunday instead. I was seriously frozen when I walked in the door so I decided a hot bowl of soup would be perfect for dinner. Luckily I had one can left!

This was my first time trying Amy’s Minestrone and I loved it! I added a little Parmesan cheese on top which went very well with it. It was the perfect blend of veggies and noodles.

I knew I would not be satisfied with just soup so I made a Grilled Cheese on an Arnold’s Sandwich Thin.

I also added some of these on the side with hummus for something to munch on.

Delicious and comforting dinner! You can never go wrong with soup and a sandwich!

I still needed something more after to satisfy that sweet tooth of mine. I found basically the only sweet thing left in my apartment, an apple!

I microwaved it for 2 minutes and added some cinnamon and pumpkin butter on there.

Somehow a dark chocolate caramel square found its way on my apple! :)

Now I am satisfied! My friend should be getting here in an hour or two so I will be okay without 10 snacks tonight. We will probably have just have a drink or two, or three! For now I am going to go clean my room. It is seriously such a mess. I would take a picture but it is kind of embarrassing. I tend to just throw things around during the week because I am so busy and then clean it all up on the weekends. This should keep me occupied for a while which is good! Anything to keep my mind off that cereal!

The subway situation is awful, that sucks so much. I am sure it will get resolved, but ugh so stressful. It’s just like when I deposited a check and the bank decided to take it out of my account for no reason and wouldn’t send it back to me!

    Excited about the camera!

I would have cried too – $60 is a lot of money to me!

Those Kashi bars ARE dangerous. They are some of my favorites – we buy them in bulk at Costco, and then I hide them from my husband. :)

Hope you got your cleaning done. I need to do some of that around my house too. Have fun tonight!

Dori: Can’t wait for the camera too! My pictures seem to be getting worse and worse!

Heather: I don’t think I could ever survive if I bought them in bulk! Even when I bought 5 at a time, I would eat them all. I think I need to stop buying Z-Bars too since they taste like cookies and brownies! So sad!

I’m sorry about the subway problem. Hopefully it works out ok! I’m with you on the zbars, they are so good it is hard to eat just one!

Oh, no! That is a lot of money to me, too, hopefully they will get it worked out and you’ll get it back. On a funny note, shows you where my head is because when I saw your title I immediately thought Subway the sandwich place. :-)

I need to get those sandwich thins! They look just about the perfect size.
