I really like to pack my lunch since it saves money andcan be healthier! I tend to bring a lot of sandwiches with some chips or crackers. This means a lot of Ziplock baggies are used and thrown away! I try to reuse my baggies whenever possible but they often get dirty and are thrown in the trash. This is not good for the environment. I found the perfect solution to this problem when I received a package from a company called snackTAXI.

snackTAXIs are a line of reusable bags for snacks and sandwiches in a variety of fun fabrics. They were created back in 2003 as a way to stem the tide of plastic Ziplock bags that flowed into our landfills.
They are made in a home-based workshop by local sewers. The company is committed to keeping their business local, and will never outsource their labor.
I was sent a waste-free lunch starter kit which contained a twice-as-nice napkin, sandwich-sack, and a snack-sack.

I loved the cute designs on these little bags. They are great to bring to work, school, or on a vacation! I tried out the products yesterday for lunch.

I made a peanut butter, jelly, and banana sandwich to bring to work with me.

It fit perfectly in my sandwich-sack! I expected it to get messy but my sandwich came out perfect. The bags are coated with nylon and can be machine washed and dried, or simply wiped clean with a damp sponge.

I also brought some Mary’s Gone Crackers Sticks and Twigs to munch on for the side!

I got out my handy-dandy snack-sak.

The sak was perfect for my twigs!

According to the website, snackTAXIs are a great alternative to plastic bags and wraps, especially when just one reusable bag has the potential to eliminate an average of 1000 plastic bags over its lifetime!
I will be using these every time I pack my lunch now!

We love the snack taxis at our house! We have several snack size ones and a sandwich size one too. Since using them, we’ve reduced the number of plastic baggies that are purchased and used in our home. Love it for the environmental reasons and my daughter loves the pouches! My favorite right now is the grass menagerie multi.
