Silk Heart Health Winners and Thursday Clubbing!

Happy Friday! I’m not really sure how I am functioning right now so excuse any typos in this post! I think I got home at 4:00 am last night and woke up at 7:00 today! It turned out to be such an eventful night. I am about to pass out on my desk but it was worth it! Luckily a coworker just offered to get me something from the cafe upstairs. Now I have a nice iced coffee in front of me. Hopefully it does the trick.

I will start off by announcing the winners of the Silk Heart Health coupons and then move on to my crazy adventures.

Thursday Breakfast

I started the day off with my usual bowl of oats: 2 packets Quaker Organic with cinnamon, banana, and skim milk.

What are those little purple specks you might be wondering?

Navitas Naturals Acai Power! I’ve had this stuff in my desk drawer for months and completely forgot about it! It added a nice touch to my oats.

Lunch

I brought my leftover Kabocha!

Very good with ketchup! I might have had fro-yo as well but ate it too fast before snapping a pic!
Bar Hopping

The boy met me at work and we decided to go to a bunch of different bars like we did on Monday. We went to a bar right across from my work called Gaslight Lounge so we could catch the end of the Phillies game. We both got Blue Moons.

One Blue Moon was $8.00! We only stayed for one drink! All of the sudden the bartenders started walking around with margarita pizzas! The free pizza made us feel a little better about the drink price!

I had the smaller one on the right. Yummy! The bar is very cute inside. It has old fashioned looking couches for everyone to sit on.

We left and started walking towards Penn Station. We stopped at another bar called Flight 151. We both got Bud Lights. The best part of the bar was the place mat! They give everyone crayons to color on them! We were the only ones coloring but ya know..we like to act like we are 10.

We left after 1 beer and went to another bar! I forget the name but we had another Bud Light.

Like my Missy Maintains cherry?

We kept on walking and ended up near Penn Station. We saw Keith Urban’s tour bus! Unfortunately I could not find Keith himself!

We decided to keep walking towards Times Square. We stopped at a restaurant called Virgil’s for another drink!

Another Bud Light :)

We acted like tourists…

We decided to go to Tonic so we could catch another baseball game and eat some dinner! We basically walked 50 blocks so we were hungry! I went to Tonic once last year and remembered them having really good food!

We had a nice view of the game.

2 more Bud Lights!

I loved the big round booths they put us in!

I ordered the Pepper Crusted Tuna Salad: served atop sprouts, mixed greens, baby corn, and scallions with crispy wonton noodles. I also got low-fat honey mustard on the side.

It was delicious! I made the boy try it even though he refuses to eat tuna. I convinced him it tasted like steak so he tried a tiny piece and really liked it!

He ordered the cheeseburger!

I tried it and it was amazing! It was just as good as the burger at Joshua Tree on Monday! They are owned by the same company so that probably explains it. We decided we are never eating in Queens again. Our meals are always way better in the city!

The burger was not enough for him so he ordered edamame as well.

I had some but was so stuffed from the salad! They were delicious!

By this point it was 11:00 at night. My brilliant drunk self decided to suggest going to a club! We ended up back near my work to check out Cielo! They play my kind of music (house and dance) so we asked the bouncer what DJ was playing. He said Oscar G. Okay…you probably don’t know Oscar G but I downloaded his album about a month ago and have been listening to it nonstop since.  I got super excited and said we had to go in!! $60.00 later we were inside the club. My sober self would never pay $30.00 cover but ya know…wasn’t thinking!

We both got Red Bull and Vodkas and danced all night. Picture of Oscar G….

Oscar G in real life!

Wasted Missy!

I forgot I had work today! Okay…maybe not but I was having too much fun to leave! We stayed till 3 in the morning and finally decided to take a cab home.

Here I am now running on 3 hours of sleep! I’m not hung over at all..just tired and out of it! Oh well!

I have some fun plans for the weekend! Tonight is a blogger meetup!! Yay! Tomorrow I am going to Philly to pick up Daisy! Yessss!! I feel bad because my mom got super attached to her but I can’t wait to bring her to my apartment! Sunday my mom and I are going to a Zumba-thon!

Have a good weekend and see some of you later!

Ah, to be young again! I used to be able to do the same thing back in the day!

$30 cover?! Wow, its been a while since I've been to Chicago clubs – I remember paying $5 at most for a cover charge, but then again, that was 20 years ago! :D

Blue Moon is one of my favorite beers, but I buy it for home, its way too expensive at restaurants.

    Hope you survive your day!

What a fun night! I like house and dance music too. My favorite is Miss Kittin. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of bars/clubs that play that type of music in Boston. That just means I have to get mah butt to NYC!

    Enjoy the blogger meetup!

Looks like such a fun night…isn't it so much better to drink on the week nights sometimes? (um, not that I do anymore….but my younger self sure loved it!) I definitely give you props for getting up and working on only 3 hours of sleep! I would need an IV of Starbucks.

Looks like a good time! I love Blue Moon too, it used to be the only beer I ever drank. Now I like all beers, unfortunately :)
The Acai Power sounds interesting, but I'm not so sure I believe in Acai's "super powers" I have never even learned about the Acai berry in any of my nutrition classes, it just came out of nowhere!

Enjoy getting your cat back :)

I used to love to go out in downtown and walk from one destination to another like that! I never got FREE margarita pizza though. But, I guess with an $8.00 beer, they better have free pizza!
