Sample Galore!

Sorry that I did not post last night. I was extremely tired after work and decided it would be best to try to go to bed early. I think the no sleep from Monday night hit me hard later in the day. I was even too tired to start using the new camera!

Somehow I still managed to get to the gym because knowing I had Kickboxing motivated me to get there. If I had no class, I probably would have skipped the gym altogether. The class was pretty good. I burned 289 calories. I probably usually burn a lot more but I was moving in slow motion. I left right after class since I was so sleepy.

I came home to 2 big packages!! That cheered me up a bit!

The first one was from Foodbuzz. I am a member of the Tastemaker program so they sent me a bunch of Quaker True Delight Bars!

Two of the bars are Toasted Coconut Macadamia Nut, two are Dark Chocolate Raspberry Almond, and two are Honey Roasted Cashew Mixed Berry. I am so excited to try them!!

They are actually giving away free samples here so everyone can get to taste one!

My next package was huge!! I opened it and was amazed at how much was inside!!

The wonderful Natalie at Honest Foods sent me tons of goodies to try out!!

The box included 4 different types of Baked Whole Food Bars:

  • Almond Trail Mix
  • Cran Lemon Zest
  • Apple Ginger
  • Choco Peanut Butter

There were also 3 kinds of Granola Planks:

  • Blueberry Vanilla Crackle
  • Maple Almond Crunch
  • Pomegranate Walnut Crisp

The bars are made with natural ingredients like pure almond butter, organic oats, whole nuts, seeds and fruit. They contain:

  • 210 calories
  • 190 mg omega-3s
  • 5g protein

So exciting!! Thank you Natalie!

After squeezing all of my new food into my kitchen cabinets, I decided to make dinner. I was not too hungry for some reason but knew that I would wake up in the middle of the night starving if I did not eat.

I started with frozen veggies:

I then heated up a Morningstar Farms Mushroom Lovers Burger:

I added a slice of cheese on top of the burger. I also added lots of salad and a few crackers and hummus for the side. It looks like a ton of food but it is pretty much all vegetables!
Nice quick, yummy, and healthy dinner!
For dessert I scooped out half of a Chobani and put it into a cup. I added grapes, pumpkin butter, and a few chocolate chips.

This was so good that I went back in and got out the other half of the Chobani. So much for trying to lower my portion sizes at night!

I could eat this dessert all day, every day! It was 9:15 by the time I was done dinner. I was soo ready for bed but had to wait for my landlord to arrive to collect the rent. I was nominated by my roommate to be the one to stay awake for her. How nice.
I finally got to bed by 10. I am still so tired today! Maybe because snow is on its way?
I arrived at work and made a nice cup of coffee to wake myself up a bit.
I had to try one of my new samples so I brought an Honest Foods Apple Ginger Bar to incorporate into my oats.

I started off with a packet of Smart Balance oatmeal, half a banana, and cinnamon.

I microwaved it for 1 minute and 30 seconds and added some skim milk. I then topped it with Gerber Freeze Dried Apples and about 1/4 of the crumbled Honest Foods bar.

It was a delicious combination! I think I am in love with the Apple Ginger flavor! There were big chunks of apple throughout the bar and the ginger gave my oatmeal a wonderful new taste!
I am so excited to have so many more flavors to try! I just have to be careful to not go near them late at night since one bar is 210 calories and 1 could turn into 3! They will strictly be for during the day. So good!
Have a nice Tuesday!

Wow – you scored with the samples! I love every Honest Foods bar product I’ve tried. What a great box of goodies!

Hope you’re feeling better rested today. I’m sure your morning cup o’ joe helped. Always works for me. :)

1/2 Chobani wouldn’t cut it at night for me either. I always go for the whole serving of yogurt…otherwise, I’m hungry an hour later.
