Last night after work, I met my friend Amanda and her boyfriend for dinner.
Hi Amanda
We tossed around a few dinner options…Mexican, Japanese, American, or Thai. I’ve only had Thai twice before and loved it both times so I was happy when Amanda said it was her first choice. There are tons of Thai restaurants around my work but we decided on a restaurant called Room Service. I’ve heard some great reviews and it looked very cool inside!
The restaurant looks like a hotel inside. There is a big chandelier, doors with room numbers on them, and pretty wall paper. We actually sat in the exact booth below!
Here is a little glimpse of what it looks like later at night when it turns into a club!
Fun right? We made it there just in time for the last half hour of happy hour. Drinks were $6.00 and the Thai beer was buy one get one free. One specific drink got my attention: Detox Cocktail!
It was made with pomegranate juice, vodka, honey, lemon, and cucumber. It was delicious! I was really sick the other day with a stomach virus and fever so I figured it was the perfect choice!
We decided to get a few appetizers to share. We started with the Chicken Satay: house – marinated chicken served with our signature peanut dipping sauce.
The chicken was delicious! I loved the peanut sauce. Luckily Amanda and her boyfriend are not huge cucumber fans so I got to have all of the veggies.
The chicken was so good that we ordered a 2nd one! I had another skewer plus another half of a cucumber!
We also split the Pineapple Fried Rice: fried rice with hawaiian pineapples, onions, scallions, raisins, carrots, eggs, green peas and garnished with roasted cashew nuts.
The rice was amazing! There were giant chunks of pineapple and it wasn’t too greasy like typical fried rice.
Last but not least, we split the Pad Thai with Chicken: sauteed thai rice noodles with eggs, brown tofu, bean sprouts, scallions and crushed peanuts.
My plate:
The Pad Thai was amazing as well! I loved that there were tons of bean sprouts and tofu mixed in with the noodles. According to Amanda, the noodles were not as spicy as some other places she’s tried. Probably a good thing for me! I refilled my plate with more noodles more than once
Dinner was a lot of fun because Amanda acted as my practice health coaching client! We went through her health history and came up with a few recommendations and goals for our next session. I promised to bring her a box of Stevia next time so that she eases off her Splenda and Crystal Light! We will also be coming up with something to munch on besides Life Cereal and Frosted Mini Wheats!
Overall the service at Room Service was very good. It was pretty empty for happy hour but I’m sure it gets much busier later on. The prices were pretty decent too! I definitely recommend it if you want a nice environment and delicious food! I plan to come back later at night to check out the club scene!

Stevia is a natural sweetener with no calories! Some people think it is bitter but I really like it.
