Instead of the gym, my roommate and I decided to go to the Tower Diner for dinner. We both started off with a bottle of Coors Light.
Very refreshing! I got a side salad with Lite Italian dressing before my main course.
My entree came with pickles and coleslaw!
I ate both pickles but was not a huge fan of the coleslaw.
For my main course I got:
PORTOBELLO WRAP — grilled portobello mushroom, fresh spinach, tomato and mozzarella cheese.
Delicious!! The melted mozzarella made it so good. It was pretty greasy but still wonderful!
I also had 3 of my friend’s onion rings and some waffle fries!
Probably a bad idea since I skipped the gym but I just wanted to relax and enjoy my meal.
We came home and my hallway was filled with boxes!! My roomy said I got a few over the weekend while I was away and a few that day!
The first box was from Once Again Nut Butter!
Omega-3 Almond Butter!! I have been meaning to buy Almond Butter anyway so this is perfect! I plan to bring it to work tomorrow to start eating in my oats every day!!
The next box was from Naturally More!
I am stocked with peanut butter for a long time now!! I have tried this brand a few times before and love it!! Check out the nutrition label!
I love that it is lower in calories than most peanut butters and is made with flax seed. According to the website:
Flaxseed contains lignans that have anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-cancer properties. Flaxseeds have the richest source of lignans, 100 times more than the next best source, wheat bran. The majority of lignans is found in the seed, giving it an advantage over flax oil. Flaxseed also contains lecithin, which emulsifies fat and cholesterol. These little seeds improve digestion, help stabilize blood glucose levels, fight tumor formation and enhance cardiovascular health.
Looks like I will be making plenty of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the near future!! No complaints here!!
The next box was a prize I won from Vital Juice. I receive their daily newsletters every day which are filled with health and beauty tips. I entered a contest a few weeks ago and won a Vivabox Tea Set!
It is filled with all different types of teas!
-Aged Earl Grey
-Monkey King Jasmine Green
-White Rose
-Ruby Chai Herbal Rooibos
-Temple of Heaven Green
-Starlight Rose Flowering Tea
-Sunset Oolong Flowering Tea
The next box was from FoodShouoldTasteGood Chips!
There are all types of flavors that I am so excited to try!!
- Buffalo
- The Works
- Chocolate!!!!
- Sweet Potato
- Jalapeno
- Olive
- Multigrain
I will review each flavor every time I open a new bag!!
The next box was from GNU Foods!
Peanut Butter Bars!!! I have only tried the Cinnamon Raisin and Banana Walnut flavor of GNU Bars before so this is perfect! I am in love with the other flavors so I am sure I will love these! The Cinnamon Raisin flavor is like eating an oatmeal raisin cookie! They are loaded with fiber too which is great!
One more box!!! It was from Pretzal Crisps!
- Original
- Everything
- Garlic
- Honey Mustard & Onion
- Buffalo Wing
- Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzel
I am going to try to do some product reviews every day from now on! I have so many new exciting foods to taste test!! Thank you to all of these companies for allowing me to try your wonderful products!!
Raw Revolution Product Review
Last night a while after dinner, my roomy and I decided to taste 2 bars from Raw Revolution.
She tried the Raspberry Chocolate flavor.
My pillows made a lovely backdrop! These bars are made with cashew, agave nectar, dates, cocoa powder processed with alkali, almond, raspberry, and sprouted flax. They contain 270 calories, 15 grams of fat and 8 grams of protein. The calories are a little high to me for just a bar so in the future I would probably only eat half. My roommate loved the flavor. She said it was very filling, scrumptious, chewy, and favorable. She can’t wait to try the other flavors!
I decided to try a mini Cashew & Agave Nectar Bar.
The ingredients are cashew, dates, agave nectar, almond, and sprouted flax. I really love the short ingredient list!! The mini size only has 100 calories which I like too.
The bar was very sticky and shiny upon opening. I took one bite and could not decide if I liked the flavor. I took a second bite and decided I did not like it at all. It tasted very weird to me. Almost like plants! I threw it out after the second bite because it started to gross me out. The Raspberry Chocolate wins this flavor test!!
This Morning….
I got to work and immediately made a cup of Tazo Awake Tea. I am still feeling extremely sleepy from the lack of sleep the night before!
The subway took really quick this morning so I finally had time to stop at Jamba Juice to use my $1.00 Oatmeal coupon!! I have been dying to try it but always seem to be running late in the morning!
I ordered the Apple Cinnamon flavor! I handed the employee my coupon and she told me my oatmeal would be $3.20. I was really confused for a minute and I said, “Aren’t they supposed to be $1.00?” She said, “Oh yeah, I forgot you just handed me a coupon!” Can we say short term memory?? So it cost $1.08 with tax!
I opened the container once I got to work and it smelled like an apple pie baking!!
The top was filled with baked apples!!
I took one taste and was in heaven!! It was really was like eating the middle of an apple pie!! There were even crunchies throughout the oats!
The actual steel cut oats were very creamy and perfect too! I plan to print out a lot more coupons so I can go back and try the other flavors. I should set my alarm a little early every day since this is such a great deal!
