Hello! Sorry for my lack of posting! My computer has been acting all crazy the past couple of days. I was not able to upload pictures and could not get on my blog from work! My computer seems to be working again so here I am!
I will do some recaps and highlights of my meals from Tuesday through Thursday. I am going to start off with breakfast for all 3 days since they were very similar!
Breakfast!
Last week, the wonderful folks at POM sent me their new POMx Iced Coffee to try!
Check out the awesome coasters that came with the coffee!!!
About POMx Coffee:
Its super-ingredient, POMx, a super-pure, super-concentrated, 100% natural blend of polyphenol antioxidants loaded with all of the health benefits of POM Wonderful pomegranates. While you’re getting your buzz on, you are drinking an 8oz. glass of POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice, the standard daily consumption in their studies on cardiovascular and prostate health.
POMx is Good for the Planet
- Shade-Grown Beans: POMx beans are ethically sourced Rainforest Alliance Certified farms, which safeguards the rights of workers, conserves natural resources, and protects wildlife from the environment
- rBST-Free Milk: rBST is a synthetic hormone given to cows to boost their milk supply. POM only uses rBST-free milk because they like their cows au natural.
- Organic Cane Sugar: It is harvested from herbicide and pesticide-free land. It is produced within 24 hours of harvest and is minimally processed. It’s green cut, which means there’s minimal environmental harm compared to the alternative method of crop burning. It is grown in accordance with sustainable agriculture practices.
Reading all of this information even before tasting the drink made me love it!! I can especially appreciate it since I am currently reading Omnivore’s Dilemna. I decided to try the Cafe au Lait on Tuesday morning.
I honestly was a little skeptical when I read the nutrition facts. The bottle contains 170 calories and 20 grams of sugar. I feel like I could just go to Starbucks and get one of those crazy Mocha Frappucinos instead. After thinking about it, POMx has so many more health benefits and is great for the environment so the calorie fear left my mind. It also has great ingredients:
Reduced-fat milk, brewed Rainforest-Certified coffee (water, coffee), POMx (POM Wonderful Pomegranate Antioxidant Extract), organic cane sugar.
I poured some into a mug with ice.
Delicious!! You could not taste the POM at all. It was like a creamy iced latte. Yum! It woke me up right away too! I drank half in the morning and half in the afternoon as a pick-me-up. I made some eggs in the microwave too.
On Wednesday morning I tried the Chocolate!
The chocolate has 190 calories and 30 grams of sugar, blah…but once again, has good ingredients:
Nonfat Milk, organic cane sugar, POMx, brewed Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee, erythirol (natural sweetener), cocoa, natural flavors, caffeine, carrageenan.
The chocolate was even better than the Cafe an Lait. I seriously chugged the whole thing in 5 minutes. Not safe! It reminded me of Yoo-Hoo chocolate milk!! I made eggs again to go with it
POMx coffee did a great job at waking me right up and was delicious at the same time! I don’t think I can handle that much caffeine on most days though because I crashed later in the afternoon and felt so out of it. I would definitely buy it in the future as a nice little treat though!
Today I took a break from the coffee and made a protein shake instead.
I used water plus a frozen banana with the Spiru-tein.
Along with microwaved eggs again! I should switch it up before I get sick of them!
Lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday was peanut butter and jelly on Dave’s Killer Bread!!Enter to win some here!!! I had yummy flax crackers on the side.
Yesterday I was craving something sweet after my sammy. I noticed a few weeks ago that the health food store by my work got a new fro-yo in! It is called Only8 Frozen Yogurt.
It is supposed to be low-fat, calcium fortified, low calorie, all natural, no preservatives, sweetened with fructose, and has 4 active yogurt cultures. It was delicious too! Very creamy and rich. Good to know it is across the street from work!
Lunch today was very special!! I brought another peanut butter and jelly sandwich but then I remembered that work bought our entire office pizza!!! I saved my sandwich for tomorrow and dug in to the pizza!!
It was heaven. Thin crust with cheese, zucchini, peppers, and lemon slices! Lemon may sound weird on pizza but trust me, it was so good!! Definitely my first time trying the two together but I am hooked!! Such a nice treat!
I was kind of craving ice cream again after the pizza so I walked over to Lite Choice. Pizza and ice cream…it is just one of those things.
Dinner all 3 nights had a theme…string beans (although you probably already figured that out from my corny title!!) I bought a huge package of them last week so I steamed them and made different things to go with them each night.
Tuesday night I made a Morningstar Farms Mushroom’s Lovers burger. I ate some crackers, salad, and salsa along with it!
I had to take one more picture because of the pretty wedding flowers!!
I had a wonderful dessert!!! A chocolate Vitatop and frozen banana. YUM!
Wednesday night I got home and had a beer. It was just one of those days where I needed to relax with a drinky.
I used up the last of my Morningstar Farms “chicken” (never buying again!!!)
I made another salad with crackers and salsa.
More string beans!! I added garlic powder and spray butter.
Dessert was another Vitatop…and maybe another beer
And tonight…………Morningstar Farms Crumbles!
I heated them up with some salsa!
Can you guess what dessert was???
At least I made small changes every night! I tend to eat the same thing for a month straight when I find something I like!!
WORKOUTS
Monday: After my baseball game, I went to Total Body Conditioning and then to Kickboxing right after. I usually never make it to the first class since I am still at work so I was excited to be able to go to both! (Hottie teacher too).
Tuesday: I went to an awesome spin class.
Wednesday: Could not move!!! I was so sore. It hurt to sit. I was exhausted so I went straight home and had that beer above!
Thursday: 20 minutes on the elliptical and Total Body Conditioning. Great class and felt better about my pizza/ice cream lunch! Will be very sore tomorrow again!

Pizza and ice cream are inseparable. Period. There is a store here in Union Sq. that sells Only 8 and it's not half bad! Plus it's much cheaper than Tasti/Lite Choice, at least where I go. Only $2.50 for a small. Not too shabby!
Lemon on pizza though? I thought I had heard of pretty much every pizza topping there is but that's new to me! Makes me curious!
