Physique 57 Experience & Sweet Potato Fries for Dessert!

Last night I went to Physique 57 with Dori and Diana. We got guest passes from Melissa at the blogger meetup so we decided to try the class out together yesterday.

I was not sure what exactly Physique 57 was prior to receiving the guest pass so I checked the website!

What is Physique 57?

Physique 57® is a focused and proven cardiovascular program of isometric exercises and orthopedic stretches. Physique 57® tones your seat, abdominals, thighs and arms; strengthens your legs and back; and improves posture to produce a beautiful, sexy body

During the 57-minute class, clients use weights and the ballet barre to strengthen and lengthen every muscle group to create supple and lean bodies. All beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes are structured to make the most of every minute. Motivating music accompanies the brisk sequence of toning exercises and stretches. Throughout the session, Physique 57® instructors move among clients positioning, aligning, and providing individualized instruction.

We chose the “beginner” class but it felt like advanced to me! It was in a nice carpeted studio with ballet bars along each wall. We were advised to take off our shoes and grab 2 sets of weights. The class started off with several arm exercises using the weights. The instructor was very past paced and changed up each move every couple seconds which I liked.

The rest of the class involved us using a playground ball, yoga straps, and the ballet bars. We did leg exercises with the ball that made my legs BURN and SHAKE to the point where I had to stop a few times. The other girls in the class seemed to be in much less pain than me! One girl said that in the beginning, her legs would shake like crazy. After 2 months of taking the class, they stopped shaking, but still burn every time!

The class ended with challenging ab exercises and some nice stretching. The hour flew by since the teacher was so upbeat and fast-paced. She also knew that it was my first time so she made sure my form was correct whenever she walked by me.

Overall the class was very hard but I really enjoyed it. I can’t imagine what the advanced class is like! My legs were so sore all night and today! It is a good pain though!

I had plans to look at an apartment after the class with my roommate but the guy stood us up! Instead we went to the Tower Diner for dinner!

I was feeling kind of sick yesterday so I decided on breakfast for dinner!.

I got the Mediterranean Omelet: egg whites with mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and feta cheese. I got sweet potato fries on the side and ate my roommates onion rings :)

It was delicious but I definitely went overboard on the fries! I ate all of mine plus some of my roommate’s waffle fries! Instead of regretting it and hating myself, I skipped my usual bowl of after dinner ice cream. I also just got back from a crazy workout so there was no reason to feel bad about enjoying some fries!

This morning after trekking up the subway stairs in pain, I got to work and made some breakfast!

You will be seeing a lot of granola in every post because I have about 8 bags of it open in my apartment for product reviews. I am trying to eat all of my open food due to my little critter issues!

The mango flavor of the Turtle Mountain yogurt was delicious! The only problem was that it was so thin that every time I dipped my spoon in it, it splattered all over me! I now have yogurt spots all over my dress! Oh well!

I went to the gym at lunch for my little quick Friday workout. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical but kept the resistance down since my legs cannot handle level 10 today! It was very hard to come back into the office after since the weather is so sunny and warm!

Lunch was the turkey and ham wrap that I originally planned to eat yesterday!

With the last of my Honey Mustard Pretzel Crisps, hence the tiny pieces that are always at the bottom of the bag!

I brought another bag Funky Monkey snacks to try this afternoon.

Some Purple Funk! Gotta get my daily dose of acai for the day!

Today is an especially good Friday because my weekend gets to start a little early! There is an art tour in the corporate building of my company from 4:30 to 5:30. At first I thought nothing of it when I received the invite but my boss asked me if I wanted to go. I was thinking…art tour….boring? Then it clicked that I would be off at 5:30 instead of 6 and that the building is about 20 minutes closer to my apartment! Today I love art! I get to leave at 3:45 to head over there. Much better than sitting at a desk for 2 hours :)

I may have to look at a few apartments after work so it will be nice to get it done early so that I can have my Friday night to relax (drink)! Tomorrow at 9 am I am looking at one and then I am probably trying my first Core Fusion class! Hope everyone has a nice sunny weekend :)

I love your attitude about the fries, Missy. That is awesome!! And you are exactly right – it sounds like a crazy ass workout, so your body needed the fuel.

Apartment/house hunting is so much fun!! Moving, however, is not.
