I can’t even describe how awful work has been the last 2 days. I feel so lost and out of the loop without blogs! I also hate not being able to chat on GMail. I spent my day reading the May issue of Cosmo! I was not kidding when I said I have no work!
A few people asked if I had an IPhone or Blackberry. I have Aim and the Internet on my phone but I am not allowed to use my cell phone at my desk! I also found a website where I can log in to my laptop remotely but it was soo slow and had delayed response time so it was too annoying to use! Boooo!
The only good thing is that I can type my posts at work and then just upload the photos at home. I am just sad that I can’t comment on anyone’s blog till later
Oh wellll. Life will go on!
Breakfast was oatmeal with an Honest Foods bar!
Honest Foods bars were probably the first sample I ever received for my blog and I remembered I still had 4 boxes last night! I will start eating them every day before they expire!
I also added skim milk and Barney Butter of course!
During my lunch break I did 42 minutes on the elliptical. I was allowed to go to lunch a little early today so I got almost a full workout in! So great!
It contained:
- Tuna
- Cedar’s Artichoke Spinach Hummus
- Mustard
- Laughing Cow Cheese
- Lettuce
- Rudy’s Bakery Whole Wheat Bread
The bread seriously made the sandwich so much better than my usual bread! Nice and thick!
I had Mr. Krispers Sour Cream N’ Onion Chips on the side!
My afternoon snack was Mango Peeled Snacks!
By now I have tried all of the flavors of Peeled Snacks so I will do a little review!
About Peeled Snacks:
At Peeled Snacks, we believe snacking should be a satisfying part of life. We enjoy delicious, wholesome foods, and know that when we eat healthy, tasty snacks, we energize our minds and bodies.
Ingredients matter! We keep our snacks as close to natural as possible by using high quality ingredients. When you bite into a juicy piece of fruit or a crunchy nut, you’ll wonder why anyone would want to add sugar or fat. We’ve had enough of seeing high fructose corn syrup and other artificial fillers in the foods we buy. Many companies try to save money by using less natural ingredients and replacing them with sugars and fats. At Peeled Snacks, however, using premium ingredients is NOT something on which we’re willing to compromise.
Creativity counts! We knew we wanted to create a snack of dried fruit and nuts, but anyone who’s had a typical peanut and raisin trailmix knows that they don’t exactly burst with flavor. When you mix fruit with nuts, the nuts get soggy and the fruit dries out. We pack the fruit and nuts separately, ensuring that the nuts stay crunchy and the fruit stays moist. Other fruit and nut mixes try to cheat by adding sweeteners or vegetable oil, but Peeled Snacks are naturally sweet and flavorful. Our stay-fresh pack is our creative solution to seal in freshness without these additives. So you get a great tasty treat that’s naturally good for you. See our four fruit & nut mixes.
Organic goodness! Our newest line of snacks are organic, single-serving, single-flavor varieties, called Picks. There are six organic flavors: go-Mango-man-go, pine-4-Pineapple, Apple-2-the-core, Apricot-a-lot and Cashew-later. There are also two all-natural varieties: Cherry-go-round and Almond-daze. All Picks have nothing added: no sugar or oil or preservatives of any kind. Check out the Picks.
I received 6 different snack packs:
- Apple 2-the-Core
- Apricot-A-Lot
- Cherry-Go-Round
- Pine-4-Pineapple
- go-Mango-man-go
- Pine-4-Pineapple
They were all delicious!
The pineapple was just that tiny bit but there were about 5 stuck together!
The apple was delicious in my oatmeal!!
The cherries I snacked on yesterday morning before work to satisfy my hunger till breakfast!
They all contain around 130 calories and 4 grams of fiber!
I am obsessed with any type of dried apricots!! I ate these alone as an afternoon snack!
I also think it is great when companies are involved to the community.
At Peeled Snacks, we’ve got some wonderful partners who are doing amazing things. We’re committed to working with other organizations that share a common desire to help people live healthier lifestyles.
Here are a few organizations they are involved in:
- Peeled Snacks is proud to donate to the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association for the 2009 Young Hearts Gala held on May 7th, 2009 in New York. The mission of the AHA is to “provide a forum and share information about heart diseases and stroke (the No.1 and 3 killers in our nation respectively) in a social networking setting in order to educate and emphasize the importance of healthy lifestyle behaviors and prevent heart disease and stroke.” Visit http://www.americanheart.org/.
- Join the Peeled Snacks team and help us raise funds for the NAMI walk on May 9. The National Alliance on Mental Illness is an incredible organization that raises awareness about our country’s need for a world-class treatment and recovery system for people with mental illness. Join the Peeled Snacks team for the walk in NYC. http://www.nami.org/.
- Peeled Snacks participated in Common Threads’ World Festival of 2009 by attending and donating our organic fruit picks. Common Threads, co-founded by Art Smith, Oprah’s former chef, helps to educate children on the importance of nutrition and to encourage cultural diversity through cooking classes and events. To learn

You can purchase peeled snacks on their website (http://www.peeledsnacks.com/). If you fill out a quick survey, you receive a $10.00 gift card towards your purchase!
They are also sold on Amazon, Equinox, Nordstrom, Whole Foods and more!
They go great in oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and alone! Yumm!
After work, the boy and I decided to rent bikes in the park!
We walked for a half hour to get to the bike rental and it was closed!!! Very pretty scenery still!
We ended up just walking for an hour and a half instead of the bikes. I need to bring my bike from home now!!
We got home around 9 and made some drinks!!
We had plans to make Brown Rice in a Bag. Every bag in the box was ripped!! The rice exploded all over us!!
I took more pictures and I plan to email the company. How was every bag ripped!!??!
We made Mexican so I brought out the tortilla chips and Big S Farms Salsa!
We also got Kraft Fat Free Cheddar!
We made black beans and corn as welll!
I mixed it all together on top of a salad with mushrooms to make an amazing meal!!
SOOO goooood!
We are off to go make some pudding now!! It really is sad that I had to sit here for 2 hours ignoring my boyfriend after doing nothing for 8 hours at work!! Booo! Blogging finally made me happy since I hate my job and now I can barely do it. Very depressing!!
Be back tomorrow! I am going to the Nalini Method again so I am excited!! (The class I took last week that I LOVED)!!!
Goodnight!

Aww, I’m sorry to hear that work has been so awful
Those peeled snacks look good! And I love when companies get involved with the community. It’s just such a nice thing to do. That’s so weird that all those rice bags were ripped! That’s crazy!
I hope things get better for you at work. I can’t imagine how boring that must be without the blogs/facebook/or any chat!

I am so, so sorry! Like I said, I COMPLETELY relate. It sucks to hate your job (and have no work to do!) and have that taken away. Wonder why they just took it away?
Hopefully they will change their minds. Like you said, it’s good that you can type it all up at work at least!

Holly: I think they took it away because they just layed off soo many people so they want us more productive? So annoying since they never assign me work!
EatfabinNYC: Meebo is blocked too! The only reason I am on now is because I am using my computer remotely. It is so slow though!
Dori: Mango was my favorite!! I forgot to mention that! Yes, we need to go bikeriding and rollerblading asap!

I still can’t believe your work went psycho with the whole every website blocked thing. My work did it but only on websites I could get lost on (facebook, tmz, etc). I use google reader, have you tried that? It’s a google page, so you still maybe able to read blogs through it, just not comment?
I love the renting bikes! That is so cute!
