A New Beer Garden Opens in the Upper West Side!

I love the Upper West Side and am always looking for new places to drink (and eat… of course). I was invited to the grand opening of a new beer garden called West End Hall. The bar has 30 bottled beer options and 20 draught beers and ciders on rotation. I enjoyed an open bar of beer and several Moscow Mules! (which is called West End Mule there because of the location).

I got to sample several different items from the menu such as avocado hot dogs, truffle fries, burgers (amazing), and chicken. All of the food was delicious. I definitely went a little overboard… but you never know when they are going to stop serving, and I didn’t eat all of this… after all, I’m Missymaintains!

I loved this event and there was a DJ that played pretty cool music from the eighties and nineties. By the end, it became a dance party!

The bar itself was very cool inside and there is an outdoor patio garden in the back. The atmosphere is very relaxed and all members of the staff are dressed in cute plaid shirts, so you feel like you’re in some sort of barbecue. I will definitely be visiting again soon. You can find this bar at Broadway and 106th street.

Loving my Intel 2 in 1

As I mentioned in my last post, I am testing out an Intel 2 in 1 HP x360 tablet/computer. I’ve been using this for about a month now and absolutely love it. I’ve never owned a Kindel, iPad, or any tablet devise so it is really nice to have such a light and portable computer to travel with.

intel 4

When I received it in the mail at first I thought it was one of those netbooks… but oh, was I wrong! The HP x360 has everything I would ever want from a computer device, and I’m even finding myself giving less and less attention to my regular proper laptop.

What do I love about my new Intel 2 in 1 HP x360 series tablet computer?

  • It has a very beautiful and sleek design and it is red… it is the perfect accessory and… hey! It matches my nail polish!

intel 6

  • I can choose to use it as a laptop or as a tablet… I personally prefer the tablet use, and touch the screen and all, but having the ability to type things on a keyboard is a big plus.
  • I love the fact that I can turn the screen and flip the keyboard in 4 or 5 ways, so depending on the mood or the task that I am doing at that moment I twist it to be more comfortable… I can’t do that with my regular laptop… I can only open and close it!

intel 1

  • Even if I am not very familiar with the Windows operating system, I love this tablet version of it, and it is very easy to use.

intel 2

  • I can watch movies in bed with very good image and sound quality… not only in bed… I take my 2in1 to the subway and now waiting for the M or R train is much more enjoyable.

intel 5

  • The battery life is very good and I never run out of battery after a busy day in the city.
  • It is a quite fast computer and it never freezes on me.
  • It is so light and small that I can just put it in my purse and take my work anywhere.
  • I can read books everywhere and I am reading a lot since I received it… it really makes a difference not carrying heavy and bulky books around.

All in all… I really love my new tablet computer and I am so happy with it… I recommend it to anyone that wants a tablet, but also wants the ability to use it as a computer… since it is a 2 in 1 you get the best of both worlds!

Missy Maintains approved!!! 5 stars!

Lately I have been traveling a lot and am rarely home relaxing. I stay in my regular apartment in Queens some nights and stay in my parent’s apartment in the city other nights. Recently, Intel offered to send me an Intel 2 in 1 tablet so I could test it out and share my experience. This was perfect timing because I really needed a light-weight computer to bring to the other apartment! I currently own a Macbook and it is really too heavy to carry around all day.  The Intel tablet is extremely light and you can either use it as a computer with a keyboard, or just a touch-screen tablet.

The tablet has so many different apps such as weather, a radio, games, social media, etc.

Features (according to Amazon):

Tablet mode: A remarkable 360-degree hinge design lets you flip the keyboard around and lay it flat on your lap to surf social media, swipe through photos or pull up your playlists.
Tablet stand mode: Transition the tablet to an upright position so you can play games, scroll through songs, watch movies or follow your favorite recipes while you cook.

Tent mode: Watch the news, the game or catch up on your shows with your Inspiron 11 in a hands-free easel position that supports full touch interaction.

Laptop mode: With a full-sized keyboard, you can chat with friends, reply to emails faster, update family budget spreadsheets or knock out school projects.

My favorite part of the tablet so far is the Radio app. I type in an artist I like and can blast music while I get ready in the morning. The sound is really good on such a small devise since it has Beats by Dre audio.

I also use the Intel 2 in 1 for Netflix and to watch Big Brother since I don’t have cable!  I will be bringing this on vacation since such a lightweight devise is so easy to travel with.

Vionic Zen Shoes Walkabout

I recently had the chance to try out a new type of walking shoe called the Vionic Zen Walkers. These shoes are extremely comfortable because they have a First Ray technology that promotes stability and assists in forefoot mobility.

Developed by leading podiatrist Phil Vasyli, Vionic footwear counteracts the daily grind of walking on hard and unnatural surfaces, providing much-needed relief from pain in your feet, knees, legs and lower back. Featuring patent pending built-in Orthaheel orthotic technology, they realign feet to their natural (neutral) position, allowing wearers to step softly and stay stylish!

Vionic with Orthaheel Technology offers the only shoes recommended by both the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and renowned integrative medicine doctor, Andrew Weil, MD. Vionic (and specifically the ZEN) is also worn and endorsed by celebrity fitness trainer Juliet Kaska’s (clientele includes Kerry Washington, Ali Larter, Stacy Keibler, Pink, Kate Walsh and more).

To be honest, these are not the most stylist pair of shoes I have ever owned, but definitely would be good for a vacation or a festival when I know I will be walking or dancing all day!

I received these shoes because they are the official shoe of the Vionic Walkabout, which is a 28-day campaign, also sponsored by Dr. Andrew Weil and celebrity trainer Juliet Kaska, which encourages the public to walk for 30 minutes a day for their heath.

You can sign up for the Walkabout and pledge to walk every day for 28 days. Once you sign up, you will receive weekly tips from Juliet Kaska and health guru Dr. Weil and have the chance to win prizes including a trip to LA). This post is a little bit late since my blog was down, but I encourage you to all sign up and continue the walking challenge through April.
