Outdoor Run Attempt, Rooftop Party, Italian Dinner!

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I did! I don’t want it to be Monday! I have not started packing yet and I move on Thursday! Aaah! Looks like it will be a busy week! I will recap back to Saturday for now!

I decided to go to the gym before my rooftop party at night. I walked all the way there and realized I forgot my iPod! I get extremely bored without music so I decided to turn around and get it. By the time I walked 10 minutes back to my apartment, I felt too lazy to go back to the gym. It was really nice out so I decided to attempt a run outside.

I started jogging to the park and made it almost 10 minutes without walking. Of course I got a horrible cramp once I got to the park so I had to stop. I ended up walking for 5, jogging for 5, walking for 5, etc for about 40 minutes. I really could not run more than 5 minutes without getting a cramp. So frustrating!

I also have this issue where my nose runs realllly bad when I work out so it was dripping the whole time! Very distracting! I will have to keep tissues down my sports bra from now on or something!

I burned around 400 calories by the time I was done so it was a good workout! I will keep attempting it every weekend until I can run for a little longer!

At night, the boy and I went to Melissa’s rooftop party! My roommate was going to the city too so we snapped some pics on the subway!

Melissa’s apartment was AMAZING! It had an amazing rooftop with cabanas, a pool and bocce ball. There were tons of parties and bbq’s going on!

It overlooked the whole city. So pretty!

Gettin my drink on :)

The good thing about going to a blogger BBQ is healthy food options! I had a Boca burger with fat free American Cheese, Guiltless Gourmet Chips, and some delicious pasta salad.

There were some other bloggers there too!

Melissa, Gena, Me, and Ashley!

Ashley and her fiance.

The boy and I!

The rooftop got so pretty at night! I want to live there!!

We had a great time. Thanks Melissa!

Someone handed us a frozen Snickers on the way out!

They might be the best thing ever!

We got home around midnight with the drunk munchies! We ended up eating a bag of edamame each! Blah!

Sunday

The boy and I had to wake up early to go to Jersey for his nephew’s communion dinner. It was very hard to wake up after having one too many drinks!

We went to Penn Station and had about 9 minutes to pick up breakfast. I started to order an egg white omelet on whole wheat toast but the guy took forever to start making it! I had to grab something pre-made and run to the train!

I saw a turkey sandwich and grabbed it without even seeing what it was!

It was not the healthiest option but I tried not to eat too much of the white bread. The turkey and cheese were still good :)

The dinner was at a nice Italian restaurant. We started with amazing garlic bread.

I had that plus one. Yum!

I got Minestrone soup too.

Along with a salad with Italian dressing.

For our main course, we had the option of Veal Parmesan, Ravioli, or Chicken Carbonara. I got the chicken.

It was so good! It had ham, mushrooms, and cheese with pasta on the side.

I tried to take off some of the ham and cheese to make it somewhat healthy. Luckily the 2 people next to me did not like mushrooms so my plate turned into this!

Delicious!! Nothing better than a big pile of mushrooms!!

3 of us also finished off 2 bottles of wine :)

Then came dessert…

I started off being good with some fruit!

Until this was placed in front of me..

TONS of cookies and waffles with chocolate in the middle (forget the name!)

And an amazing piece of chocolate chip cake!!

Yeah, not possible to resist! Everything was amazing! It was a rough train ride back to NYC! Too much wine and dessert! Back to eating healthy and working out this week hopefully! Moving will be plenty of exercise too!!

what a great weekend- the view from the rooftop is amazing!

My nose always run when I exercise too- I thought it was just me (though admittedly, it’s not something I ask people about often!) Kleenex in the top of my sock works best for me (wouldn’t be able to hide it otherwise in my dance gear!)

Melissa’s deck looks beautiful. I wish I could have come, but my parents were here.

Great job with the run. You seem like you really want to improve, so stick with it!

First off, all three of the roomies LOVE YOUR RECAP! I have never taken photos of the roofdeck, but wow, yours are great! I am glad you had a good time and so glad you came. I must give Trevor all credit for the veggie burgers and FF cheese–he went to Costco all by himself! I did make the potato salad. Oh, and as for our signature frozen snickers party favor…all Trev!
