Outback + Bailey’s + Food Inc.

One more day! I get off at 1:00 tomorrow so I am slightly excited! Of course I am starting to get sick and can’t talk today but hopefully it does not get any worse! I probably should not have drank so much last night….more on that later!

I just realized I haven’t showed you a full day of food in a while. I started Monday off with a very delicious bowl of oats.

blog2 032

I used 1 packet of McCann’s Apple Cinnamon and 1 packet of plain. I added some banana and  Justin’s organic cinnamon peanut butter. Great combination! My oats haven’t been filling lately so I’ve been trying to add some extra protein.

Lunch was a repeat sandwich of dinner the night before. Much easier to make 2 sammy’s at once! I had Somersault Snacks on the side. I got hungry an hour before my lunch so I finished most of them before even eating my sandwich. I don’t know why oatmeal used to fill me up for so much longer. I should start making eggs or something.

After work, I went to the gym and did 50 minutes on the elliptical. The gym was fun because they had a DJ for some reason!. She played fun dance music so I was able to stay on for pretty long without getting too bored.

I had no clue what to do for dinner after. I ended up getting a text message from the boy about how bad he was craving steak. I was too lazy to try to make it so we ended up at Outback!

We started off with a lovely bottle of wine.

Best bread ever!

blog2 024

I got a house salad with Tangy Tomato dressing. Yum Yum!

blog2 026

For my main course, I got the Seared Ahi Tuna: Sashimi-style tuna rubbed in bold spices and seared rare. Served with creamy ginger-soy sauce and wasabi vinagrette.

blog2 027

It was very good! I loved the ginger-soy sauce! The fish was very fresh and moist. I stole some of the boy’s string beans too.

He was thinking about getting cheesecake  but then I decided we should go for a dessert shot instead! We got a Bailey’s shot!

blog2 029

It’s funny that they had prices for every single drink except for the dessert shots. Maybe because that tiny thing was $8.95!!! We would have never ordered it! Oh well, it was fun!

By this point we were both very drunk. We decided we wanted more Bailey’s so we went to the liquor store and bought a bottle. Who does this on a Monday night?

I got Food Inc. from Netflix a few days ago so I decided to make him watch it. Perfect night since he just got done eating steak! Every time he eats one of his Twinkies, I read all of the yucky ingredients to him and try to teach him about HFCS but he still buys them every day. I was hoping the movie would have a little more influence on him! After it was over, he said he never wanted to eat again! Hopefully it will at least stop him from eating fast food from now on! I’ve also been trying to lower my processed food intake. The only thing I really can’t quit right now is gum. Addict!

Around midnight we finally stopped drinking and passed out. It was not too fun waking up for work today! I will never learn haha.

Today at work, there is a potluck for lunch! I was told about it at the very last minute so I only had to bring a drink. I will attempt to get some pictures! Have a good day!

Unfortunately, Food Inc. did not really stop my fiance from eating certain things like I hoped it would.

Steakhouses always have the best bread. I wonder why.

  • Wow, your dinner was fabulous!
Every gym should have a dj. I’d probably never leave if they did though.
I should move Food Inc to the top of my netflix list so my bf will watch it. I saw it in the theater with my friend and told him about it when I got home, but he tunes me out when I talk about these things (and everything else really). Maybe he’ll eat better if he watches it like your boy is :)

  • Mmm is that the ahi tuna appetizer? It looks wicked good, I’ve never had it! That’s so fun your gym had a dj, must be fancy.
I’m glad the boy watched Food Inc.with you. I hope it influenced him some. I just watched it a few weeks ago and was totally disgusted. It didn’t change how I eat though because I’m already a pescatarian, but it really opened my eyes even more as to how the aminals are treated.

  • I LOVE Bailey’s!! Nick and I were just talking about it the other night. We had just ordered a beer (our favorite Christmas ale) and I spotted the Baileys and got REALLY excited for Christmas Bailey’s drinks.

I can’t believe that shot was almost 9 dollars, what a complete rip off. But glad it was worth it!

Your oats look great. At first I Thought that was ketchup on there, ick. Thank goodness it wasn’t! I mean I’ve heard of savory oats, but ketchup, gross.

  • Food Inc is a must see as far as I am concerned! I told my clients that if they saw it in the theaters I would deduct the cost of the ticket from their next session.

  • Oats don’t fill me up anymore, either, like they used to. I’ve finally given in, and just make a smaller bowl and have a small snack. My bowl of oats could be ENORMOUS or small, and I’m still hungry like an hour after!

Well, TECHnically last night was like a Wednesday, since tomorrow’s your “Friday,” so….drinks allowed!!
