Today as I was browsing through blogs, I noticed that FitnessNYC will be participating in the NYC Revlon Walk/Run. She mentioned that it is perfect for casual runners since you can also walk some of it. I decided this would be perfect for me since right now I can only run for 20 minutes without feeling like I am going to collapse. It is not until May 2nd so I will have plenty of time to practice and hopefully increase my run time. It also supports a great cause so I am looking forward to it.
You’re Invited!
My friend Dori and I decided that we are going to try to form a team so that we can raise more money. If you are interested, let me know and we will set it up. It will also be a great opportunity to meet fellow NY bloggers!
Workout!
On another note, I made it to the gym at lunch! I think going almost every day last week at lunch really made a difference so I am going to make that a little goal of mine. It compensates for those nighttime munchies that tend to happen quite a lot.
I did 35 minutes on the elliptical on Interval setting. My machine was definitely broken because I did 2 minutes at level 10 and 2 minutes at level 17. The level 10 felt more like 2 and 17 felt more like 10. I burned 235 calories. Lovely.
I then ran another 5 minutes because I took a little too long getting changed! I normally leave the gym at 12:45 or 50 to get back to work by 1. When I looked at the clock, it was 12:55. I panicked and ran back, probably looking like a crazy woman. I got some lovely shout outs from construction men. Gotta love that. Usually I curse them out but today I was in too much of a hurry so I kept my mouth shut.
Lunch!
I got back at 1 on the dot nice and hungry for my turkey wrap.
It was so yummy yesterday that I had to make it again today! It had 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of turkey, roasted red pepper hummus, lettuce, and cucumbers.
It was extra good today because I put tons of hummus on there. So great on turkey!
Guess what I had on the side!
See ya tonight if I can actually stay awake!

Good luck with the Revlon team! I admire you for working out during your lunch break. That takes some motivation. When the lunch hour rolls around, I’m usually just thinking about food, not the gym.

Thanks Heather! Luckily my lunch break is super early (about 2hours after I eat my oats) so I am able to get to the gym. If it was at 1 instead of 12, I think I would choose food instead!

Erin: Thanks so much for reading! I live in Queens but work in the city. Yes, it can be very hard to keep a balanced diet! I am usually okay during the week but sometimes on weekends or late at night, the problems arise! I think it is okay to indulge sometimes since I tend to workout a lot! It is just the occasional binges or 3 am pizza that I have a hard time with!
