Mexican Fiesta & YouShake Strawberry Peanut Butter Smoothie Success!

Happy Friday! It is a wet one out there. Of course my smart self left my umbrella at home so I got soaking wet on the way here. Oh well, I am getting my hair done later today so it will be all better! Now for some food and exercise talk…

Last night I went to the gym after work and did 30 minutes on the elliptical before spin class started. I burned 200 calories. Nice warm up for spin!

The spin class was amazing! Seriously one of the best classes I have had in a while. The teacher was so happy and smiled the whole time. It really makes a difference when you can tell the teacher is happy to be there! It was intense with crazy hills, jumps, and sprints for the 45 minutes! I burned 395 calories and had a maximum heart rate of 187. That means 595 calories for my whole gym session! Good thing because I ate more than usual yesterday!

I got home to a package! It was 3 salsas from Gil’s Gourmet!

  • Mild Chardonnay Artichoke Salsa
  • Mild Garlic Salsa
  • Hot Garlic Salsa

I heard about this brand from Hungry Girl and really wanted to try it! Since I received 3 salsas from Big S Farms the other day and 3 yesterday, I knew I had to make Mexican for dinner!!

I brought out an Amy’s Burrito!

I also brought some Jalapeno Food Should Taste Good Tortilla Chips to keep up with the Mexican theme!

I had a tough time choosing which salsa to try but I decided on the Gil’s Gourmet Chardonnay Artichoke Salsa!

The website description said:

A generous amount of marinated artichoke hearts, carrots, special blend of herbs and spices topped off with a splash of Chardonnay wine

I immediately dipped a jalapeno chip in the salsa to try it out!

It was delicious!! It was the mild variety but had a little spice to it. It had huge chunks of artichokes, carrots, and onions in it! Each serving is only 15 calories and there are no artificial sweeteners in it! Perfect!

I decided to make some Fiesta veggies to go with the burrito!

I heated up a bowl in the microwave of broccoli, carrots, kidney beans, and pinto beans!

I microwaved the burrito and melted some American cheese on top!

I also added some salad. Check out this Mexican Mix!!!

So good! I love having 10 different things on my plate to eat! I kept pouring more and more salsa on my plate because the huge veggie chunks made it delicious to eat even on it’s own!

I must have really liked the salsa because I realized after that I ate half the jar!

Good thing it is only 15 calories per serving!! That is why I love salsa so much! I can eat the whole jar and not feel too bad!

For dessert I had a Turtle Mountain Coconut Mini!

These things are sooo good!

So good that I might have had a 2nd one!!

Yeah, there was only one left in the box so when I finished the first one, I immediately dug in and ate the last one in the box. I was not thinking! They are only 100 calories so it is not so so bad but still totally unnecessary! I was so full and 1 sandwich was enough!

I felt bad about the ice cream so I was crazy and decided to try my Core Fusion Body Sculpt DVD! I have been dying to try it since it gets so many great reviews and had nothing better to do! I really liked it! The 50 minutes actually flew by! I love that they give you a lot of time to stretch in between so the video relaxed me and worked my muscles! The butt and abs section was insane!! I had to keep stopping but I really felt my muscles working!

The only problem I had was that you need a chair and a wall and I only have a rolling chair in my room! I also have no wall space so I used my desk instead! Next time I am going to move some furniture so I have a real wall. I am excited to do it more since it really burned my core!

This morning I woke up and did Day 21 of the Shred! Almost there! I am actually going to have to stop at Day 27 since I leave for Florida on Day 28 but I will continue the DVD once I am back! I think I am going to attempt Level 3 this weekend to really work it before I hit the beach!

I decided to give those YouShakes another chance this morning! I wanted to make a real shake since adding just water did not work! I brought out the Strawberry Blended Bliss!

Blended Bliss combines organic strawberries, organic bananas and organic vanilla for a mouth watering shake.

Ingredients: Whey Protein, Organic Cane Juice, Organic Strawberries, Organic Bananas, Organic Vanilla.

1 Packet contains 110 Calories and 14 grams of protein!

Today I added:

  • Ice
  • Turtle Mountain Vanilla Coconut Milk
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 Scoops Naturally More Peanut Butter
  • Frozen Strawberries

It turned out much better!

It was nice and thick today like a strawberry peanut butter smoothie!!

So good!! I can’t make smoothies too often in the morning because my roommate sleeps till an hour after me but it was delicious for a change! I am actually just getting hungry now so it kept me full for 3 hours!

I got to work and made a nice cup of coffee!

I think I am going to go make some oats since I won’t last till 1:00! Have a good day!

Dailygoods: Yes the stretch section I could handle! I just could not do that last pose where you hold both legs up and balance yourself! Maybe sometime in the future!

    Melissa: I use the Polar F7 :)

    Awesome workouts :)

That’s what I like about salsa too. Have you tried the Foods Should Taste Good chocolate tortilla chips? They are delicious. But kind of bingey. I could easily eat the whole bag in one sitting because they are just so good. I can’t buy them often :P But when I do they are great.
