Hello! First off…Go Phillies! Second, sorry for being M.I.A! My computer at work has a virus or something and the Internet is all messed up. It does not let be stay connected for more than one minute! Very frustrating.
Yesterday was a fun day with a few blogger meet ups!! I started my day off at 6:00 in the morning with some juice!
I loved this juice even more than the day before! Unfortunately it only made 1/2 of a juice. I really need to stock up on more vegetables already!
I went to the gym and did a half hour on the elliptical. I got really bored so I did another 25 minutes on the treadmill. I ran for 15 minutes and walked for 10. Nice workout! I am liking the morning workout routine lately. It is nice to come right home, eat some dinner, and watch the Phillies!
Breakfast was a bowl of McCann’s brown sugar oatmeal with a banana and Artisana Raw Cocoa Butter.
I may have finished off the entire jar of cocoa butter later in the afternoon. It is really fun to eat off of a spoon!
Lunch Meet Up!
Marina came by my work since she was unable to make it to last week’s meet up at Sea Thai Bistro. We decided to have lunch there again since it is right next door to my work and is very delicious!
I really loved the tofu salad and steamed veggies that I ordered last week but I promised myself I would try two new things on the menu.
For my free appetizer (best part), I got the Duck Lettuce Wraps.
They were very good! The duck was so moist and flavorful. It was a tiny bit too salty but definitely enjoyable.
For my main course I got the Shrimp Cashew Nuts: onion, bell pepper, tamarind chili.
I loved this one! The shrimp and cashews were a great combination. The sauce was delicious too. Marina and I had a great time chatting about boys, jobs, everything!
Dinner Meetup!
After work, I met Dori and Gena at Peacefood Cafe. Unfortunately Melissa could not make it. Melissa-you were missed!
Peacefood Cafe is a vegan restaurant with a really cute and serene atmosphere. There were books, pretty tropical plants, and a delicious looking dessert display! Everything on the menu looked amazing!
I decided to go with the Roasted Japanese Pumpkin Sandwich: mashed and seasoned with a little sea salt, ground black pepper and extra virgin olive oil, topped with caramelized onions, ground walnuts, vegan goat cheese and seasonal greens.
This was seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The onions were so sweet and flavorful. The pumpkin was amazing of course too! I would order this again anytime if the restaurant was a little more convenient for me!
How good does that look! I was jealous of her huge salad as soon as it came out! Her squash and kabocha was great too!
Dori’s dinner was HEAVEN!
She got the Mushroom Duxelle Pizza with roasted sweet peppers, onions & zucchini.
I had a piece and it was so good! Dori is lucky enough to be close enough to have it delivered to her apartment anytime! I am very jealous! I am ready to go back there asap! It was great catching up with Dori and Gena and the food was amazing!
Dori picked up a brownie on her way out which I regret not getting now! Instead, I went home and made some of Gena’s banana soft serve! My blender did not work too well so I brought out a mixer that Sherri from SingleEdition.com sent me!
The mixer is called the Kalorik Sunny Morning Mixer.
It did a much better job than my blender! It is very nice to have until I splurge and get myself a food processor. I know one of these days I am going to order one without even thinking about it. So bad but I won’t be satisfied until I have one!
What kitchen appliance would you get if you could choose anything??
Delicious and perfect way to end the night!

Jenna: The brown topping was the duxelle (a seasoned mixture of finely chopped mushrooms and shallots, sautéed and used as a garnish). I wasn't sure at first either!

Hey Missy!
I have been reading your blog for a while and am also in NYC. I am 23 and just started working here this summer. I just started a blog and would love for you to check it out. Your food looked especially amazing today. I have to try out that homemade softserve. How temping are all the froyo places in NY? Mannn way too much money was spent there over the summer haha.
Anyway, let me know if you'd ever like to meet up! And if you have any suggestions about my blog or anything at all.
Thanks
Jamie

Blogger meetups are so much fun. It's nice talking with people that share your love of healthy living.
If I could have one new appliance it would be a new coffeemaker. Ours is on it's last leg leaking all over the counter. I might have to hit up Target for a cheap one this weekend.
Go Phillies! Booo Yankees!

It does take a while to learn what to buy for juice and how much. I have my magic formula now (which I'll share if you want it) but I'm getting in a rut. Like, I love juiced beets but it never occurs to me to buy them for my own juice! DUMB.
Peacefood looks AWESOME. I'll have to add that to my list of to-try restos.
And lastly, you need a food processor. I do not regret that purchase for one second. Just do it. Ebay. Go.
