I just got back from a wonderful event at Saks Fifth Avenue. First I will do a little recap of breakfast and lunch before I talk about that!
Breakfast was 2 packets Quaker Organic Instant Oats with a banana, cinnamon, skim milk, and Gina’s granola.I finished her granola in 2 days so it was obviously very good!
Around 11:30 I wasn’t hungry but I wanted something to munch on. I had a Pria bar from Gina as well. It was originally for after work because I was not sure how much food would be at the event. I opened it in the morning anyway!
I am not a huge fan of these because they have a million ingredients and taste artificial but it did the trick in satisfying my mid-morning munchies.
Lunch was turkey and cheese on an Arnold’s Sandwich Thin with pita chips.
I wanted something sweet after and felt like I was about to pass out so I walked into the health food store to explore. I was considering a coffee drink but then I spotted this.
I decided to give it a try since it said it was an Energy Smoothie and contains lots of superfruits!
Not too bad considering I did not need another snack the rest of the afternoon. It was nice having this to sip on at my desk. The ingredients are pretty good too.
Overall: It was refreshing and satisfied my sweet tooth so I would probably purchase it every now and then. Once again, I need to stop buying random things at my lunch break though! It ruins the purpose of me bringing lunch each day to save money.
After work I took the subway over to Saks Fifth Avenue. The event was hosted by my friend Sherri at SingleEdition.com. The event was called Live the Life You Love. It is a series of 3 nights; tonight’s topics being Money, Home, and Security.
About:

Our goal is to offer a fresh standpoint, some genuine advice and even some hands-on assistance that can help make the difference in your life.
The first thing I saw were people from Chanel giving makeovers! I sat in a chair and the girl put a lipstick on me. I was a little disappointed when I realized that she would not be doing my eyes or face but it was still fun.
Vitamin Water was one of the sponsors so they gave out complimentary bottles the whole time! I was a happy girl.
The best part was the complimentary Sparkling NUVO!
This drink was delicious! It is the first sparkling liqueur on the market. It is a mix of wine and vodka and has a fruity taste. I had 2 of them throughout the night.
Beautiful cheese and fruit trays!
I was not too hungry yet when I got to the event so I had some fruit before and cheese and crackers after.
Vitamin Shoppe was also one of the sponsors.
They gave out some cool swag which you will see more of below!
There was a panel of 4 experts that spoke at the event.
The speakers were:
Legal Expert: Ken Shoen
Insurance Advisor: Andrew Merkin
Personal Finance Advisor: Galia Gichon
Real Estate Expert: Laura Scott
They were all great speakers and provided some great tips on saving, insurance, wills, and real estate. I took some notes but I will save you from a money lecture first thing in the morning.
I am really looking forward to the next event on October 6th because the topic will be health, mind, and body. There will be a personal trainer, nutritionist counselor, health expert, and sexpert. I will obviously be much more interested in what they have to say. If anyone is interested in going to the next event, let me know and I will send you the information!
I left with some awesome goodies!
I read the magazine on the subway ride home already
I am excited to try the face creams!
There was also tea, a 1 week guest pass to NYSC which I will be giving away since I am a member, Chanel samples, and an arm band to put my phone and keys in for running! Yay!
Last but not least…..
My very own bottle of NUVO! Yum!
I want to thank Sherri and SparkNetworks for hosting such a wonderful event. I am looking forward to the next two!!
I got starving on the subway ride home so I took out my Kashi sample that I received in the mail yesterday.
This cereal is delicious! The blueberry clusters are so good! I’ve always been a huge fan of any cereals with clusters in it but I am known to pick them all out of the box!
I finally arrived home around 10 really starving for dinner! I did not want pasta again but I always feel bad not eating leftovers. There was a huge bowl of it sitting there so I heated some up.
Dessert was grapes, carob chips, and some Oikos!
Best dessert ever! (Besides Oreo Cheesecake!)
