Little Weekend Recap!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving! I don’t have many food pictures but I’ll do a little recap of my weekend!

Thursday I went to my parent’s house in Philly for Thanksgiving dinner. The menu included:

  • Salad
  • Turkey meatballs
  • Sweet potatoes with marshmallows
  • Vegan green bean casserole
  • Vegan stuffed peppers
  • Turkey
  • Stuffing
  • Vegan pumpkin pie
  • Fruit

Luckily my entire family is health conscious so I never have to worry about eating poorly during Thanksgiving. My aunt is vegan and a great cook so she made some delicious side dishes!

There was tons of wine and vodka consumed. Dance parties broke out with my mom, sister, and sister’s husband. Eventually my sister, her husband, and my dad were sitting around talking. I told them about the blog since it is going to be in Shape in a few weeks anyway. They thought it was cool that I am sent food to review.  My mom still does not know and my dad did not read it so it was not a big deal. I think once they start reading it, they will want to read every post and stalk me! I’ll just wait and see! We stayed up till 1 in the morning drinking. Fun night!

I snuck into my mom’s gym on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We did triceps Friday, biceps on Saturday, and shoulders today. My mom showed me how to do all of the scary machines. We also did 30 minutes on the treadmill plus abs every day.  Nice workouts!

Last night my parents and I decided to go to Atlantic City. My dad got us 5th row tickets to see Matisyahu. We also ate at the Borgata buffet. Everything was delicious! I had salad, soup, sushi, mussels, shrimp cocktail, mushrooms, broccoli, and salmon. They had every dessert imaginable!

I gambled, won 25 bucks, had a few drinks and went to the concert.

It was a fun night. The concert got kind of boring since every song sounded the same so we left after an hour.

I will be heading back to New York in a few hours. My mom and I just went to Whole Foods so I stocked up on some Z-Bars and popchips of course!! I am not ready to go back to work tomorrow! At least I am off again in a few weeks for the holidays! I’ll probably spend the day catching up on all of your blogs during work tomorrow so I guess it is not that bad! Well I am off to go pack up! Have a nice rest of the weekend!

  • Sounds like a great weekend Missy! It must’ve been fun to workout with your mom. Daisy is getting so big!
I had a mishap this weekend that I think you’ll be very dissappointed in me for. It’s on my blog.
Enjoy the last few hours of the weekend girl!

  • Sweet weekend, and love all the vegan dishes your aunt made. Is your mom’s gym pretty low key? At mine there are cameras at the entrance so they know if people sneak in friends!

They weren’t very strict there! I just walked right by them 2 of the days. Yesterday they stopped me but I used my mom’s name and it worked!

Wine and vegan eats?! Sounds like a stellar Thanksgiving! Don’t you love health conscious family members? They’re my favorite (even though I shouldn’t have favorites ;) ).

    Have a safe trip back!

That’s cool that your family is so health conscious. My mom is but the rest of my family really isn’t.

  • My parents were the same way when they found out about my blog … thought it was cool, but a little odd. It grew on them, tho!

  • That must be a huge relief that your dad, sister and brother-in-law know!! My parents don’t know about mine but my sisters do. I think I’m just afraid my parents would get worried about my eating or something – they are SO overprotective and it doesn’t get better as I get older!

I’m jealous your family eats so healthy! About half of my immediate family does (thank goodness), but my extended family HATES eating healthy food! LOL

  • I got an odd reaction about my blog, but now they remind me to take pictures and stuff, so it’s pretty funny! Glad you had a fun time! I like one song by Matisyahu, but I heard they all kinda sound the same!
