Kathy’s Krackers and More!

Happy Thursday! I was not in the best of moods this morning. Let’s just say I ate way too much cereal last night! More on that later. I do feel happier now that my mom sent this to me!

Such a little stuffed animal!!! My mom is already trying to keep her and make me get a different kitten! Not happening!! She is too cute!

Anyway, onto food! I am going to start off with a little product review before I get into yesterday’s eats! I received 3 types of Kathy’s Krackers last week and have been munching on them here and there!

About Kathy’s Krackers:

Kathy’s healthy, raw, gluten-free, flaxseed crackers come in three delicious flavors made from the freshest ingredients available. If you like a very full flavored taste with a hint of bell peppers, tomatoes, and garlic, you’ll love her Savory cracker. If you are in the mood for something spicy, her Salsa cracker is what you need. Or, if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, the Apple Cinnamon are lightly sweetened with a touch of Stevia.

I tried the Salsa crackers first.

First off, impressive nutrition facts!

I loved the huge size of 1 cracker. The cracker in the picture above is just 1/3 of a whole cracker. They were very thick and crunchy as well. I loved that you could see the pumpkin, flax, and sunflower seeds in the crackers. They had a tomato-like flavor that had a very nice kick to it. Definitely delicious for anyone who likes spicy foods.

Next I tried the Savory.

Nutrition Facts:

The best thing about these is the short ingredient list. I like being able to recognize every single one. The crackers tasted like a mix of vegetables; I’d say mostly peppers and tomatoes. Very flavorful and delicious! I would enjoy this flavor dipped in hummus!

I was most excited to try the Apple Cinnamon since I am slightly in love with anything apple cinnamon flavored.

I enjoyed the first couple bites of this flavor but then decided it had a slightly weird aftertaste. I think next time I will spread jelly or peanut butter on them. They smelled delicious at least!

Overall, I think Kathy’s Krackers are the perfect snack to munch on. If you are interested, they are sold online here!.

Stay tuned for a few more reviews next week since I received a few exciting packages yesterday!

The first was from Pirate’s Booty!

The second one was from Dr. Kracker.
Looks like I will be eating crackers every single day from now on! Don’t ask me how I got all of this home yesterday.

I received one more amazing package yesterday too from a giveaway on Steph Chows!

I won a customized plate made by Janet at Custom Sepia!

Isn’t it so pretty?? I am so excited to eat on it! Thank you Steph and Janet!

Wednesday Eats

As you can see, my Wednesday started off well…until 11:00 at night. I had a nice bowl of oats. They were half plain and half maple spice with a banana and Artisana Sunflower Butter. Loved the maple spice flavor!! Thanks again Hallie!

I decided to go to the gym at lunch.Β I never ever feel like working out after dinner so I knew it was necessary to at least do something during the day. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. That might be it for my workouts this week. Kind of sad but hopefully I will be better next week. It seems as though I need to attempt morning workouts again since I had dinner plans every day this week!

I got back to work and had a repeat lunch. Barney Butter and Crofter’s jelly on Nature’s Pride bread.

I snacked on a Z-Bar and Zevia later in the afternoon. Going to the gym at lunch makes me very hungry later!

I decided on Whole Foods for dinner! There are so many other places I want to try but I always forget at the time. I need to make a list or something. I ended up meeting the roommate there.

We walked in and spotted pumpkin pie samples!!

Next I found vegetable dumpling samples!

I made one of my nice huge salads.

Everything was good except for the grilled vegetables and eggplant. They were extremely oily!! My favorite part of the salad was the roasted sweet potatoes. Yum Yum.

She got pizza.

Β She does not like too much cheese on her pizza so she ended up ripping it off.

I stole it as a topping for my salad. I know..so healthy right? Can’t resist warm melted cheese!

We decided we like the Columbus Circle location much better than Union Square. There are more salad bar options and it is a lot less crowded! The food seems to be less oily too!

We stopped at Lite Choice after!

1/2 Banana and 1/2 Brownie. Great combo!

Did I need more food after that? I think not.Β I got home and started playing with my laptop because my sister’s husband fixed everything and installed a new hard drive on it. I have the new Windows 7 now which is very cool. Anyway, my iTunes is all gone so I was trying to figure out how to get every song from my iPod back onto iTunes. They really don’t let you do it because of copyright laws but I know there is a way! I could not figure it out and got pretty frustrated. I know, I should have just asked her husband from the start! Instead I checked a million websites and made myself very stressed out.

Stress leads to eating. I could not stop thinking about the Peanut Butter Puffins in the kitchen. Deep down I knew one bowl would lead to more but I went and made a bowl anyway.

I did not take more pictures but I had 2 more bowls after that plus a bowl of Raisin Bran! After the 2nd bowl I figured, why not finish off the box? Yeah, gross. Oh well, I will get back on track today. I am trying to stay positive. Everyone has there days.

Tonight, I have a fun little blog dinner date which I am looking forward to! More on that tomorrow! I will leave you with a few more cute pictures πŸ™‚

The chair she is laying on is the actual chair owned by Jerry Garcia. My dad sells his art work for a living so they have a bunch of Jerry’s things. I bet Daisy gets so much attention in his office!

Aw! My little Daisy likes the Grateful Dead. Haha, okay I am done. I have a lot of work today again so I should stop procrastinating! Have a good one!

You know that's weird…I had a binge a few weeks ago because I needed to print something off for my class, and my browser wasn't compatible or something. I seriously spent 2 hours trying to figure it out! I need to marry at IT person, seriously.

You have the right attitude about it, though…it happens to all of us – and at least you were able to figure out why! You'll get your computer figured out and be back on track with the eating, too. I bet little Miss Daisy will help, too! πŸ™‚

  4. brandi says:

    those crackers sound great!

stress eating gets me every time! You have such a great attitude about it, though. It could have been so much worse, and you're right – everyone has their days.

    Today is a new day!

  5. Lindsay says:

I love all the new products!

Daisy is so cute! I bet she gets tons of attention in your Dads office1

  6. katecooks says:

sorry about the binge jinx πŸ™ stress will definitely do that, and being at home. when i am out i love getting my snack or dessert to go (like your lite choice) so i have something to eat when i get home and i feel like ive eaten at my apt one more time before bed. weird, i know, but i always want to snack again when i get back to my place! AND some foods are just TOO good to have around! i do the same thing with pb puffins and i just cant buy them unless i commit to eating the whole box in like 2 days. very few foods but thats just one of them for me!!! hope you are feeling better today and not fretting over it too much!!!

  7. stephchows says:

that kitten is so cute!!! I'm so happy you like the plate πŸ™‚

  8. Missy says:

Katecooks: Good idea! That would probably work for me! The only problem is the 45 minute subway ride in between the ice cream and my apt haha. I stopped buying Puffins a year ago for this very reason but then they came in a giveaway package. At least they are gone now!

  9. Diana says:

Oh my god, I can't get over how cute that kitty is!!!

As for the binge eating… I think you're doing the right thing, staying positive and not let it afect you too much. Tomorrow is another day and you'll just try to be and do better. πŸ™‚

  10. MelissaNibbles says:

Don't get down on yourself. We all have those days. Cereal is a major binge trigger for me too. I try not to keep it in my apartment. Something about those carbs!

    Cute plate!

  11. *Naomi* says:

great review on those flax crackers they really must be HUGE if that pic was 1/3 the cracker!!

conrats on that plate, its beautiful! love the shape !

lucky gal for getting all of these products! you will be crackered out for a longn time!!

  12. The Candid RD says:

Mmm, pumpkin pie samples would get me in the door!
Those crackers look fantastic, especially the "savory" flavor. Thanks for sharing the information with us! I've never tried the Pirate's Booty, but I hear I really should.I love snacks like that.

  13. Jenna says:

so jealous of ALL your packages!

  14. Liv says:

I'm so impressed with your ability to move on from a binge. It totally weighs me down and negative thoughts linger for way to long, probably leading to another binge. Cereal is too dangerous–especially puffins! I have only eaten the box in one sitting (with almond milk, microwaved, topped with pb and jelly, SO DANGEROUS). Anyway, I thought I'd pass along this website:
It lets you sync your iPod music onto your computer. Saved my life.

  15. Missy says:

Liv: Thanks so much! Checking out the website now!

  16. caronae says:

I totally eat when frustrated too! I haven't had the columbus circle salad bar, but i have had the one at 97th and columbus, which is pretty good. I didn't know they were different!

  17. insideiamdancing says:

The custom plate is awesome! I love Columbus Circle WF… The Union Sq one isn't a patch on it! Can't wait to check out the new uptown one.

Enjoy your blog dinner (though it's 3am EST now so hopefully ou are home and had fun!)

  18. balancejoyanddelicias says:

jealous of all your the new produds that you received, specially those raw crackers!

your kitty is really cute!!!!!! I can understand your mom's move! πŸ˜‰

that custom plate is so unique. I want mine too! πŸ™‚

  19. clairerose77 says:

That is exactly why Idon't keep a box of cereal in the house.I can't stop at one bowl.If I go out for drinks, chances are I will come home and eat the whole box.

  20. Jenny says:

mmmm you are gonna be getting your crunch on for months now girl — awesome packages!

and try not to get down on yourself about the binge Missy! It happens, and there's nothing you can do about it now.. leave that in the past and use it as incentive to keep fighting!

    lots of love,

  21. Lara says:

I lost everything in iTunes myself. I am soo mad. did you find a solution to get them back?

  22. Missy says:

Lara: I found a few solutions. One was buying software for $30.00. There was another way for free but you have to be good with computers and I could not figure that one out. I did not want to spend money to do it either! In the end I was able to transfer all of my purchased songs back into iTunes. The rest of my songs are on cds so I've been uploading a few cds each day!

  23. Lara says:

Thanks. What a pain! They were there one minute and then gone….
