Hey everyone! Random Friday night post here! I have school early tomorrow but don’t feel like sleeping yet. Probably because I just had this…..
1/2 Cheesecake and 1/2 Vanilla with crunchies. Dori texted me and told me she got some so I copied. Oh and if you didn’t take the TLC Survey yet…do it now and then come back to my blog when you are done! Thanks!!
Before my lovely soft serve, I had this crazy Whole Foods salad:
Apparently it was huge. The lady checking me out said, “You gonna eat all that??”
Um…I just got done 50 minutes on the elliptical right before so hell yes I am eating it all.
Anyway, half of the salad is lettuce. The other half is vegan chicken salad, detox salad, cabbage, quinoa, kale, chickpeas, seaweed salad, and cauliflower. The cashier still believed I was eating way too much. Whatever… hope she goes home and enjoys her McDonald’s.
Sorry, I just get really pissed off when employees comment on how much or what I am eating. They should be happy I am spending $11.00 dollars on a salad! Usually I keep it around $7.00 but I was pretty famished from my workout so yeah; I decided to sample one of everything from the salad bar.
Back to today:
I had a lovely lunch date with Marina at our usual, Sea Thai. I started off with my wonderful free appetizer, the roasted tofu salad with peanut dressing. Love it.
I went with the grilled chicken breast with green vegetables for my main dish. Now this was a big portion!
The sauce was a delicious mix of sweet and spicy. I loved it but could only finish half! Marina and I gossiped about men as usual. Nice little escape from the work day!
So what other exciting events have occurred since I came back from Puerto Rico?? Hmm… sushi with my roommate!
We started with some edamame.
I let her pick all of the sushi this time! I did choose a salmon avocado roll at least. Oh and the brown rice on the sushi was all me.
We also got an eel avocado roll, a shrimp tempura dynamite roll, and some other shrimp roll. Don’t remember names too well. Check out this ONE roll:
Amazing.
Last night I went to a happy hour with my friend Amanda. We went to MacDougal’s in the West Village.
We played pool and darts with her boyfriend and his friend. I definitely lost both games but that just meant I got to drink more!
I came home and made some crazy drunken dinner. Turkey bacon, omelet, laughing cow, and a burnt wrap. I set the fire alarm off too. I can’t even cook sober so I don’t know why I thought this would be a smart idea.
The only other exciting thing worth mentioning tonight is Wiggles and Daisy. They are slowly becoming friends.
They sleep on both sides of me
Alright I am off! Gotta wake up for nutrition school all early! Have a good weekend!
1) Do you get pissed when employees comment on what or how much you are eating?
2) What is easy to cook when drunk?

When I end up at that WF salad bar, I end up spending at least $8, if not more. I get so excited by the assortment of veggies LOL!
I get annoyed too when employees make comments like that. One time when dining with my hubby at First Watch, I ordered three blueberry pancakes. My husband was planning on eating at least half of it (probably ended up eating 2 out of 3 of them). The waitress looked at me and said, “do you know how big they are? are you sure you want THAT many?” Even when I explained that we were planning on splitting them, she said, “so you’re sure you want three?”. SERIOUSLY?!

When I was in college I was at the “make your own stir fry” line. I never get rice or noodles so I had a shit-ton of vegetables. Some jerk in front of me turned around and just said “hungry?” I wanted to kick him. I, too, am sensitive to people making snide comments about my food.

I hate when people comment on what I eat. What the hell do they care? It annoys me when my coworkers do it. Go eat your meatball sub you jerk! hahaha!
I tend to cook mac and cheese when I’m drunk. Not the best thing to eat at 2am, but whatever.

My boyfriend thinks my salads are ridiculous, but I don’t mind his teasing because I know he’s glad I actually eat that much haha!! I’ve never gotten comments on the size of my salads, but way too many employees have commented on what I buy…”You don’t need a diet girl, why all the lettuce?” “Looks like someone’s a healthy eater.” “I can’t believe you eat this stuff, it looks so weird!” Um, what I put in my mouth is my business people.
I don’t “cook” drunk, I just open my fridge and go to town. Last Saturday morning I was baffled when I opened my fridge and realized my PB jar was about half as full as it had been…
Looks like a great way to start your weekend, hope you enjoy the rest of it!!

Hi, Random reader, but I get salads at WF’s often, and almost everytime the cashier makes a similar remark to me! “You gonna eat all that?” It is probably the same caloric value as a small chocolate bar!! It’s all water! People can be pretty ignorant about nutrition so definitely ignore it!
[Reply]
Um, are you frickin’ serious?! For one, it’s a SALAD. Two, they should WANT you to buy more!
I have people at work tease me all the time about my food (like they think it’s weird that I sometimes eat tofu, quinoa, whatever), and I think people need to keep food comments to themselves!
Easiest drunk food to cook…hmmm. I love my carbs when I’m drinking, so sometimes I’ll make mac n’cheese or pasta, or just bread and cheese! Obviously cheese is required.

I don’t think you can have a too big salad, or too much yummy sushi! It’s not possible, silly cashier!
Hope you’re having an awesome weekend!

I like soup and oats when I’m drunk, but I try to steer away from things that involve knives, since that tends to go… downhill.

Great seeing you again! That is so cute about Wiggles & Daisy!
I hate it when people make remarks like that btw!! >:(

I am a little jealous of your sushi date…it looks so good!!!
my coworker always makes fun of my eats but not in a bad way…prob because he know that I can kick his ass ha

Don’t let this random stranger upset you. When people make statements that you know are completely ignorant, it’s just better to smile and place energy into happier thoughts (unless you really feel like enlightening them…). My two cents, anyway. Love your blog!

I TOTALLY agree with you, Missy – I mean, eating too much SALAD?!
C´mon. Altogether, the stats of your plate weren´t even close to the stats of a regular Big Mac. Such a WTH moment, huh?!
Have a great Sunday, girl! Lovely pics!
Brazilian XOXO´s,

I am drooling over your salad, sushi and softserve! OH SO GOOD!
And she really should be minding her own business!!!

Honestly, I don’t think “you gonna eat all that?” is offensive. It doesn’t sound like an insult to me at all- it does look like a big salad, and yeah who cares, but that doesn’t = someone being rude or ignorant, either. I agree with Rachael to not let that sort of thing upset you, but it may be that it’s more of an issue with your own feelings, not a woman making an observation about food. I just never tend to agree with hyper-reacting to something – I know usually when I feel defensive about something like that, it’s because I have something about me that I could be looking at- then it just goes away.

I get mad whenever anyone comments on what I eat. It’s nobody’s business how much or what I eat. What people eat is a sensitive subject for some. Salads are never too big. I love variety!
[Reply]
I get that with my huge salads all the time! Ironically it comes from people who I know get McD’s for lunch or somethin equally as unhealthy.
[Reply]
Can I have all of the food in this post stat???! OMG it all looks amazing. I need to go to WF just for their salads alone.
My go to drunk food is nachos but use the microwave instead of oven…chips, black beans, cheese and salsa and voila-drunkard paradise

I found your site through lily’s at lily’s health pad. I love your sass and I love your adventures in the city. My bf and I are planning on moving there in a year so I love browsing your adventures and taking mental notes on what to do and where to go.

Theres a reason that lady was a cashier and not a nutritionist!
Eat up your salads as much as you’d prefer!
