IntenSati Addict and AADP Certified!

Morning! It’s Fridayyyyy! I’m on a little exercise high from intenSati this morning. The class today today was labeled, “HCB” on the schedule (high calorie burn!) It was intense but amazing as always. I did not wear my heart rate monitor but Mari burned 690 calories! Our awesome instructor, Natalia, mixed our routine up a little today and made us do everything backwards with sprints mixed in. Loved it. Mari and I stayed after and did some arm exercises with free weights. We were asking Natalia what else she does besides intenSati because she has such an amazing body! Of course us food bloggers asked her what she usually eats as well!! I am so grateful that she let me on her guest list this whole month! I have one more week at Equinox on guest lists and then I need to figure out what to do. I really want to join Equinox so that I can continue intenSati! Nothing at New Yorks Sports Club excites me like intenSati does! It is about $100 extra dollars a month though so I would need to cut back on something big! We’ll see! I have this debate with myself almost every month! I do think it would be worth it because I leave there feeling so happy every day. They also have a million other great classes too. I have a week to decide so I will keep thinking about it.

After class today, I refueled with a delicious breakfast sandwich from the deli nearby. I got egg whites, mushrooms, spinach, and feta cheese on whole wheat toast.

I also got a beer iced coffee!

Last night after work I went to intenSati again! I told you I was an addict. It was a great, hot class! The air was broken but hey…more of a detox right? I love that we were twice as loud yelling the affirmations at 6:30 this morning than at 6:30 last night. There was just so much energy today. Maybe because it is Friday? I liked the trancy, fast music today too!

Mari and I headed over to Whole Foods for dinner last night after class. I made a salad beast!

It contained vegan tuna salad, steamed kale, bean salad, zucchini, edamame, broccoli, quinoa, feta cheese, and probably 5 other things! We both wanted something sweet afterwards so we decided to go to The Lite Choice! There is one in Union Square where we were but we decided to walk 2 avenues further so we could use my Living Social coupon. I bought a coupon for 8 servings of TLC for half price! We got to the 7th Avenue location and it was closed because of an electrical failure. We decided to walk another 10 blocks to the 23rd street location. They did not take my coupon but it was completely worth the $4.00!

I got 1/2 Chocolate and 1/2 Scoopstachio with crunchies. Scoopstachio is their brand new flavor so I had to try it! It tasted like a mix of peanut butter and mint. I loved all the different flavors going on in my cup! We decided to walk while eating so we ended up walking another mile and a half to the subway! We like our exercise!

In other news, I can now write A.A.D.P next to my name! I got my certificate for the American Associatian of Drugless Practioners yesterday! I also graduate from Integrative Nutrition this weekend! It went by so fast! I am officially a health coach and am offering free one-hour health consultations so let me know if you are interested! Besides school this weekend, I have a Core Fusion class planned, Mari’s birthday dinner at 5 Burro, and some other celebrations since tomorrow is National Tequila Day! Can’t wait!

1) Are you planning on celebrating National Tequila Day tomorrow? I plan to celebrate all weekend!!

2) How do you like your coffee? Lately I’ve been getting iced coffee with soy milk from the deli. No sugar necessary!

  1. intensati sounds so fun!! i wonder if the equinox in boston offers it…I would LOVE to try it!! thats so fun that you and mari are doing it tgoether too! because then you can go to WF and lite choice haha…seriously though, it sounds like a great workout!

    congrats on being a health coach! you must feel awesome about that! i bet you will get lots of clients 🙂

    since I don’t really drink, and def not tequila, i wont be celebrating haha, but COFFEE I celebrate drinking coffee everyday 🙂 splash of skim and stevia or truvia for me!

    Your breakfast sandwich looks sooooo good I want it! Amazing that Intensati makes you feel so awesome. Would you choose that over exhale? I will celebrate National Tequila Day with you! I like my coffee with Vanilla or Hazelnut flavored Coconut Creamer — soooo good. Why didn’t 23rd street take the coupon? That sucks.

  4. I don’t know about exhale! I would want all locations and def. can’t afford that. Blah. I don’t know! The Living Social coupon was just for the 7th Ave one. I bought 8 separate ones for the 23rd street one but didn’t have it with me!

  5. She does cardio about 6 times a week and a few dance and body sculpt classes. She showed us a nice trick to work the abs while walking around every day!

I’m thinking of enrolling there next year after I graduate from NYU, so I might be hitting you up for some deets!

    i’m only 18 so no tequila, (not that i’d drink it anyways…i can’t stand it! the only way i’ve ever been able to drink it is if its mixed with lemonade), but have fun celebrating for me! i guess its lucky you live in nyc so you dont have to drive anywhere ;]

    i say join equinox!! someone once told me that if you go to gyms to sign up at the end of the month they usually cut you a deal because they’re trying to meet quotas. i don’t know if that would work for equinox? but i would talk to the sales manager and see what kind of deal he could work out for you!

    which one do you go to?? one of my good friends is a trainer at the tribeca one 🙂

  15. She does some sit ups but doesn’t like doing abs (like me!!) She said she contracts her muscles all day. She showed us the difference between just sucking in and actually contracting them.

  18. She eats some fruit in the morning and generally eats well but still allows herself cookies and bagels every now and then. She said she tries not to eat bread after 8:00 and isn’t a big alcohol person.

    This class sound fabulous, and this post really inspired me to get out and look for a good class to take. I wish I had a buddy like Mari to take it with me! It always helps to have a friend to go with, right?? I can’t imagine how good FOOD tasted after such an intense workout.

  22. I say join if you can afford it. I save a lot of money by only going out to eat once a month and I DONT DO TAKEOUT. Also, cashing in soda cans. hahaha!

    I think, if it makes you happy, and you can find a way to afford it, you should keep up with the classes/gym. They sound like great classes, I wish I could afford it as well.
    Have you considered making more food at home? I know it’s much more work, but in the end could save you sooooo much money monthly!
    I’d love to hear more about what your instructor does as well, I saw your replies above I’ll have to try to control and contract my abs now too!

    Ahhh you are so lucky to live in NYC with so many amazing fitness options! I think you could afford the classes if you ate at home more, but I hate saying that because I am always the first to say “let’s go out!” It’s a really, really hard habit to break, especially when you love food!
