Indoor 5K Attempt, P.B.Loco Peanut Butter Review!

Today is not a fun day to sit in an office for 8 hours! I want to be outside in the 80 degree weather! At least I get off at 1:00 tomorrow! Friday can’t come soon enough. I will recap back to yesterday for now!

Breakfast was my usual Archer Farms Blueberry Almond Oatmeal but it looked very weird for some reason!

Lately when I squeeze my Barney Butter packets into my oats, oil comes out first. I think that’s what is floating on top. Not so appetizing but I ate it anyway! I also added a banana, skim milk, and Navitas Naturals Acai Power.

I went to the gym during lunch and decided to change it up and do the treadmill. I really wanted to see if I could at least run a 5K on the treadmill since it is easier than running outside. I ran at a steady pace of 6.1. After 15 minutes, I got a cramp but I pushed myself through it until it went away. I so badly wanted to hit the 3 mile mark. After 20 minutes, I got another cramp. I was so mad because I knew in another 10 minutes, I would be at the 5K point. I tried to run through it but it started to hurt so bad that I had to slow down and walk. I could not even walk at that point. I was in such pain that I had to completely get off the treadmill and move to the bike. I made it 2.2 miles. Blah.

I should keep trying every day at lunch since it is the perfect amount of time to reach 3 miles. The only problem is that I get a lot more sweaty than I do on the elliptical and I have no time to shower during my lunch break. My makeup still stays put somehow so it is not a huge issue! Maybe I will try again today at least!

Lunch was a Mocha Cappuccino Erin Baker’s Breakfast (lunch) cookie and a Chobani.

I loved the cookie! It was slightly chocolaty with a coffee taste.

This was very filling but I still snacked a lot in the afternoon. I had a Z-bar and a bag of Sonoma Crisps. I forgot to post pictures last night and I can’t add them at work. Oh well!

After work I went back to the gym and did another 50 minutes on the elliptical. I was only supposed to do 30 and then go to dinner with the boy but he got sick so I stayed a little longer.

I got home and had a package waiting for me!

I won an amazing giveaway from Megan at Healthy on the Run last week!

The prize included:

  • Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams
  • Peanut Butter & Co Mighty Maple
  • Luna Chocolate Raspberry Bar
  • Odwalla Banana Nut Bar
  • Green & Black Dark Chocolate

Thank you so much Megan!! I can’t wait to try everything!!!

I celebrated with a cocktail!

Since the boy was sick, we decided to keep it simple and make peanut butter & jelly for dinner! I also wanted to make it because I received 2 jars of peanut butter from P.B.Loco last week that I have been dying to try!

  • Peanut Butter with Sumatra Cinnamon & Raisin
  • Peanut Butter with Cocoa Banana

About P.B.Loco

P.B.Loco was launched in Minnesota in 2003 by three lawyers who left their law careers to follow their entrepreneurial dreams. The company developed all of its own peanut butter and has a cafe in Scottsdale Fashion Square in Arizona and co-branded cafes with The Cereal Bowl in Florida and Delaware. More co-branded cafes are opening this year in Washington D.C., New Jersey, and Alabama.

Their peanut butters are all natural and contain no hydrogenated vegetable oil, preservatives, or high fructose corn syrup.

I decided to spread the peanut butters on Rudy’s Bakery cinnamon raisin bagels!

I tried the Sumatra Cinnamon & Raisin first.

There is some very special cinnamon in this peanut butter. It is called Korintje and it is from Sumatra. The raisins swimming with the cinnamon in the premium peanut butter are plump and scrumptious. You may want to sit down to eat this one.

It was delicious!! It was creamy and thick with a cinnamon flavor and raisins in every scoop!

Next I tried the Cocoa Banana!

This one was almost too easy. Deep, rich chocolate and untamed bananas from the heart of the jungle fused with our premium peanut butter. Caution: After you taste this, you may need a few minutes to finish the entire jar.

Check out how creamy this was!!

It tasted like a chocolate covered banana! So good!

I had 1 1/2 bagels because the boy had a sandwich and only wanted 1 side of a bagel! I added Bauman’s Blueberry Butter on top and had some Michael Season’s Cheese Curls on the side!

Delicious!! P.B. Loco also makes amazing flavors like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Caramel Apple, Dark Chocolate Duo, Jungle Banana, Raspberry White Chocolate, and more! I must try them all very soon, especially the Cookie Dough!!

Great blog! Congrats on finding your happy weight. I know from experience that it’s a hard thing to do. I too go through periods of obsessing about a few pounds. I lost 30 lbs after college and have manage to keep it off (other than gaining 26 lbs during my pregnancy) for 3 years.

I’m going to add you to my blogroll.

PB loco looks so good! What amazing flavors. Seriously deliciousness.

Don’t worry about the 5k, you will definitely get there! I think it’s much harder to stay motivated on a dreadmill, anyway.

Try slowing down and I bet you will hit that 5k mark without a problem!! No need to feel like you HAVE to do 10 min miles.

Anon is right, I found that I only got cramps when I sped up too quickly. Stay at a slower pace! When you run outside, I guarantee it will be slow anyway. Not an insult, it’s just harder outside!

Thanks for the advice! Next time I try, I will slow down a little. I just attempted it again and got a cramp after 6 minutes! No fun!

Sorry about the cramp…are you drinking a lot of water before you run? I hardly ever get cramps, but when I do it’s because I’m dehydrated (I think, I like to diagnose myself). :-)

I am JEALOUS of all the PB goin’ on in this post!

Yep, I agree with the others: don’t give up on the 5k, and don’t be afraid to slow down. Make sure you’re drinking lots of water, too.

I really like the CocoBanana PB Loco, it’s yummy!

Don't worry about the running, you'll get there. Keep adding a minute or two every few days, and you'll be at three miles before you know it. I sweat way more on the elliptical than the treadmill. Weird! The raspberry chocolate luna bar is AMAZING. It's my fav. I had PB & J for dinner too! Good luck with house hunting!

Sorry about the cramps. I hate when that happens – it’s so painful!
