Happy Thursday! Slightly freaking out right now. Just got an e-mail from my landlord:
We are going to hire a terminator this Saturday for the building. Please let us know if you will be home. If not, please let us know if it’s okay for us to go in. Please note that it is very important for the terminator to gain access to your apartment.
That last sentence is making me flip out. Someone definitely saw a mouse in the building. By the way I live in a very small building. It is more like a house (3 apartments). As most of you know, I dealt with mice almost every single day in my last apartment. It was seriously hell. I was traumatized after one ran across my foot in the middle of the night. I moved out after dealing with it for a few months.
On a positive note, I have an awesome landlord this time around that wants to take care of it immediately. I had to beg and cry to my previous landlord to bring in an exterminator. She refused to pay the money for one. Finally one day I showed her the dead mouse in the trap and she brought one in but the problem was never solved. Let’s just hope I do not see one in this new place! At least I have Daisy to kill it!
Okay, enough about mice and onto food porn. Originally I was not going to blog today because I ate the same exact thing yesterday as the day before (oatmeal, tuna sandwich, Mexican salad.) I brought a boring peanut butter, banana, and jelly sandwich for lunch today but decided to save it when I saw what today’s lunch special was upstairs!!
Roasted vegetables & goat cheese on raisin-walnut bread
I was not passing that one up!

This was the best sandwich EVER. The raisin bread with goat cheese was an amazing combination. The whole thing was only $4.36!! I need to eat upstairs more often!
Workouts
I did pretty well with the gym this week so far. On Monday I went bright and early before work. I think I did 45 minutes on the elliptical and 5 minutes of abs.
On Tuesday I decided to go to spin. It’s been a really long time since I’ve taken a spin class. It was extra hard! I wanted it to be over within the first 15 minutes. I was not thrilled about the teacher but did get a good workout in. He basically did three 15 minute loops. Each 15 minutes was exactly the same. I do not like knowing what’s coming next in a spin class. It gets very boring and predictable. I also do not like hearing the same song twice during a class. He finished the class with the same two songs he started out with. They were not good songs either. I did burn 420 calories so I’m happy I stayed!
On Wednesday I tried to go to spin again. I ate way too many snacks during the day and felt that a good cardio session was necessary. I thought that the class started at 6:30. I got there at 6:20 and warmed up a little. At 6:35, there was no teacher. There were 2 or 3 other people in the room so I thought maybe the teacher was late. At 6:45, I decided to leave and check the schedule. The class did not start till 7:00. Ooops!! I did not feel like being on a spin bike any longer so I did the elliptical for a half hour instead.
Today I tried to wake up for the gym since I have dinner plans tonight. When my alarm went off at 6:00, I felt completely exhausted. My legs were pretty sore too so I passed back out till 7:20. Sleep was necessary!
Well that’s all I’ve got for now. Come back tomorrow for a vegetarian restaurant review!!

There is nothing worse than a repetitive and predictable spin class. My wed and sat classes are getting like that, thankfully last night we had a new playlist.

I would die if I saw a mouse- you are much braver than I am! I almost always want to leave my spin class, but I rarely get to go so I enjoy them…after I'm done! I would so eat your lunch!

It's a good thing you have a better landlord. Especially living in the city. Mice are disgusting!! I hope this is just a one time thing for you Missy!
Sounds like you've had a great week of workouts so far. Rest days are good. You'll be refreshed and ready to show the gym who's boss tomorrow!
I'm inspired by your sandwich to throw some Craisins in my wraps. Thanks for the idea!

Dude I feel your pain! Mice tend to pop in buildings when the weather gets colder….I have been lucky so far in this apt maybe because they don't want to come to the 4th floor lol ((((((knocking on wood))))))))
Dude that sandwich looks delish!

I think I drooled a little when I saw a picture of that bread…. YUM, hehe.
Mice can be cute.. but not when they won't leave you alone. Good luck with that!
AAAnd a day off from the gym is quite acceptable and liberating– revel in that.
Have fun with your friends
With tons of love,
Rebecca

Eeew! Mice! I saw one in my house a while back, but we put up traps and caught it. Hopefully it was the only one. I got so freaked out, though because he was so fast, and I was afraid he’d run across the floor in front of me. Hope the problem gets fixed soon!

Missy! I haven’t commented on your blog in awhile but i have been following! I still love it. Keep up the good work!

That is good that your landlord is taking care of things. Ive been renting for a long time and I know that some landlords are really slow at dealing with pesty problems. The raison bread with goat cheese and veggies sounds like an amazing combo. Super Yum! Good job on the workouts too! I usually do morning workouts too before work so I think just getting to the gym is half the battle. So congrats! Sounds like a fantastic workout week. I hope you are having a super night!

So sorry about the mouse problems! I know it’s HELL living in apartments… for me it’s that our building has NO insulation, so you can hear every single footstep of your upstairs neighbors… I honestly can’t wait to leave! I’m dreading moving to another apartment because you never know what horror will be next!
I’ve definitely got to meet you at your cafeteria at your job one day! And I haven’t forgotten about going to Qi with you… we have to make plans for that one day soon! By then I’m sure we’ll have more boyfriend stories to swap! lol

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
