Hello! I am a very sore girl today! Check it out…

inTensati Challenge!

Last night was day 2 of my inTensati challenge! I went to a different Equinox than Sunday. I walked in and got a little lost trying to find the locker room. I ended up at the nail salon which overlooks the pool! I am very tempted to get my nails done there now. Eventually I found the locker room but I’m sure I looked very lost walking up and down stairs. I had 20 minutes before class so I got on the stepper and burned a quick 50 calories.

Class started at 7:00 and the instructor gave us a nice little introduction to what inTensati is and how she uses it in her everyday life. Maggie and I plus one other girl were the only ones doing the challenge. Mostly everyone else had taken the class before. Eventually we started our flowy yoga moves while chanting. About 5 or 10 minutes later, the craziness began. We did kicks, punches, jumps, everything for 30 or 40 minutes straight. I was drenched once again. One of the moves was air drumming as fast as we could while yelling. Let me tell you; this is a great class is you need to let some anger out! You are free to sing to the music, count down how many moves you have left, yell chants about how you love yourself, anything. There was so much energy in the room again.

After our fast cardio moves, we were instructed to get into a warrior position. I can’t find an exact picture but it is like the one below except we are turned straight forward.

warr

We had to hold that pose for 2 minutes. After moving nonstop for 40 minutes and then completely stopping, the sweat just poured out! It felt like a complete detox. We then did some more flowy squats and lunges. We ended sitting in Indian style with our eyes shut while listening to a song about loving ourselves. It was great!

The class felt slightly less intense than Sunday just because it was a half hour shorter. It still felt wonderful after. It really works your back. I am so sore today!

Hip Hop!

The instructor informed everyone that she would be teaching a hip hop class next and that we were all more then welcome to stay!  Maggie and I were both a little nervous but decided to stay and give it a shot. I remember taking a dance class at New York Sports Club. It started and looked like a professional dance class! I had to leave after 5 minutes because I couldn’t do anything! Luckily our teacher last night made the steps easy enough for everyone! It was a 45 minute class. For the first half hour, we learned a routine to an old school hip hop mix. A few girls in front were really good. I was actually able to do the routine but I  felt like I had no rhythm compared to them! It was a lot of fun though! The last 15 minutes inluded squats, lunges and abs…with a little butt shaking in between. I burned 630 calories between the 2 classes! I seriously could take those classes all day because I don’t feel like I’m actually at the gym!

Lunch!

I did eat breakfast but didn’t take a pic. I had Oikos with some Gerber freeze dried fruits and Crazy Richard’s peanut butter.  This did not fill me up at all. Two hours later I was taking scoops from my peanut butter jar since I had another 2 hours till lunch! I went back to oats today :)

For lunch I went to Lobster Place in Chelsea Market and got a Spicy Tuna brown rice roll. It was delicious.

I also found samples of chocolate covered dried cantelope! Yum!

002

Dinner!

I got home at 9:30 from the gym so I was starving for dinner! I haven’t been food shopping in at least a week so it’s a good thing I had 12 more  Progresso soups to use up!

003

I ate some Dr. Krackers and hummus on the side.

004

Oh, and I’ve been enjoying my Lite Choice soft serve every night since I got the tour! Last night I enjoyed the Cookies N’ Cream bar.

005

I added some whipped cream on the side and ate it with a spoon :)

Love it.

I love salmon and tuna rolls. I didn’t eat raw fish until a few years ago but it just tastes so fresh, moist and delicious! It is usually just raw salmon/tuna with avocado, cucumber and rice. The one I had was made with a spicy sauce.

  16. Oh wow those classes look like major fun. I definitely want to enroll in something like that. I used to take hip hop and jazz classes when i was younger and it was a lot of fun. My gym has some dance classes but i’ve never seen what they look like. Gotta get on that :p

  18. I’m pretty much living vicariously through you and your exercise classes, haha! I go to Planet Fitness, which is great, but they don’t offer any classes :( I think I’m going to have to join another gym soon because I’m getting pretty sick of my routine, and classes are just what I need to shake things up.

I really, REALLY want to learn martial arts. I’d also love to take a pilates, zumba, and hip hop class. Heck, any class that involves dance moves seems like it would be a blast. I also wouldn’t mind taking a spinning class just because I’ve heard so much about it but never experienced it. Like you said – I really want to try classes that don’t make it feel like you’re at the gym. I want my exercise to be more FUN! :)
