Gum Disaster!

It was one crazy morning today! I got myself up for a little Jillian Michael’s action..after hitting the snooze button about 4 times! Today I tried level 2 without sneakers on since the moves are so much louder than level 1!  I remember my feet scraping against my hard wood floors during plank jacks and I had to keep taking breaks. The neighbors haven’t complained yet so maybe I will just wear sneakers from now on!

After the 20 minutes of torture, I was brushing my hair and noticed something sticky and blue! GUM!!!! Yes, somehow I got a big wad of gum stuck in my hair during the Shred! I am thinking that there was a piece somewhere on my floor and it got stuck during abs? So horrible! I know peanut butter helps but I had no time to get it all over my hair and take a shower! I went over to the boy, handed him the brush, and let him do the dirty work!

He was basically ripping my hair out for 10 minutes. Then we brought out some Goo Gone which helps take gum out of clothes. I was praying it would be okay to use in my hair. It worked after about 20 minutes! After all that, somehow I made it to the city on time to stop at Jamba!

Today I got Apple Cinnamon!

Just like apple pieeeee yummmm!!!!

I just finished it now! So sad! This one might be my favorite. Tough choice though!

Last Night….

I remembered at the last minute that there was an open house at the gym so the boy was able to get in free! We walked in and they had so much food on tables!

It was a huge salad and a bunch of hummus dips! Of course I did not take anything because I was about to work out but still exciting!

They had a DJ too!

We decided to try Step Class because we were watching it a few weeks ago and it looked really fun! I was so nervous because I thought I would look like a complete idiot since I have no coordination! Everyone in the class seemed so advanced and perfect at it!

I was actually a little surprised I was able to do most of the routine! There were a few moves I could not get at all but it was okay since the class was so full! The teacher was amazing! She was so energetic and upbeat, completely opposite from Tuesday’s teacher!! I was drenched by the end! I would definitely take it again to try to learn all the moves!

We got home around 8:30. The boy can’t eat right after he works out so he wanted to wait an hour for dinner. I always get so starving after working out but wanted to eat with him so I just had a little appetizer!

I brought out a hummus flavor that I have never tried before: Hummus with Roasted Pine Nuts!

I heated up some broccoli and cauliflower in the microwave to dip the hummus in!

The hummus was okay but I don’t think I would buy it again. I love the Roasted Red Pepper and Sun Dried Tomato much more!!

I also made some beverages! Rum and Fuze!

We watched TV for a while and finally around 11 he was hungry! We kept it light since it was so late.

I started off by heating up some frozen edamame.

Along with some leftover brown rice.

I made a little bowl of salad, ginger, and some brown rice.

We split the edamame! Very good!

As I was eating the ginger, I decided to read the label for the first time. I was shocked when I read that it contains aspartame!! That is the evil fake sugar in gum that I try to avoid! I thought ginger was supposed to help the tummy! Maybe just the brand I bought has it. I will have to pay more attention next time when I buy ginger!

I am off to go catch up on some e-mails! Of course..some more giveaways!!

Ahh – that so sounds like something I would do with the gum! Good thing you didn’t have to resort to scissors – that would be my luck.

man oh man do I ever have a story about aspartame. When I went on my whole weight loss extravaganza, I went aspartame EVERYTHING. After about a year, my friends and family began joking with me that along with loosing the weight, I lost my memory. I just thought they were joking, being funny, until I found myself more and more trying to remember who asked me for what and if I had done things I crossed off my checklist at work.

Anyways, long story short, I was talking with soemone about my recent loss of memory and they pointed out I was drinking 5-6 bottles of water a day, each with a full packet of Crystal Light in it. Not to mention all the aspartame gum I was chewing and everything else diet related. I cut out the aspartame and within 2 weeks could tell a difference. SCARY!!!

Ok, Sorry I took up so much space.

Every Gym’s Nightmare: I almost took one for the blog! Haha I should have!

Jen: Wow that is crazy! When you google aspartame online, all kinds of crazy horror stories pop up! For me it was just stomach issues and headaches. Hmm, my boyfriend does say I have short term memory sometimes! Maybe it was from chewing 2 packs of gum a day?? Who knows! That stuff is poison! I cut back to no more than 4 pieces a day :)

Damn on the GUM. Believe it or not Olive oil takes it right out. It slips right out of the hair.

And regular ginger is great for the tummy dont know if the same can be said about pickled ginger. Its still good for you but its not in its natural state… raw stuff is usually better.

  16. The problem is the fat in your belly. Think of this belly fat as stored energy. That’s what body fat is: stored energy. Thousands of sit-ups and crunches do not require enough energy to burn away at this fat. This is why crunches, leg raises, and other ab exercises just don’t work.
