Hello! I just got back from Gathering of the Vibes in Connecticut! I only got to stay for 2 days out of the 4 but it was very fun.
For anyone who does not know, Gathering of the Vibes is a 4-day music festival with tons of bands, vendors, food, and fun. Most people camp out but I stayed in a hotel since I was with my parents. I usually tough it out and camp when I am with friends. I always go to this festival because my dad sells Jerry Garcia artwork so I help him out. This time he was selling his artwork, and his band got to play the first day! He is in a Grateful Dead Jam Band called Steal Your Face. It was very exciting to watch him at such a big festival like this.
I do not have many food pictures but will show you what I do have! I will recap back to Wednesday before I left!
On Wednesday I went to a deli by work and got a nice big turkey and cheese sammie.
I also got Glenny’s Apple Cinnamon Soy Crisps on the side.
My mom came and picked me up from work that night. We drove to Bridgeport, Connecticut but in awful New York traffic. We found a Japanese restaurant and stopped for some sushi! I got miso soup, a salad, edamame, a sweet potato amazing roll, and a salmon roll. So good! We also spotted a Trader Joe’s so my mom ran in and grabbed us soy ice cream sandwiches! We got to the hotel around 10 at night and passed out!
Thursday morning my dad’s band played at 11:00 am. My mom and I woke up at 10:00 so we quickly ate a banana, raisins, yogurt, and gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and rushed out of the hotel!
Me with the Mom and Dad!
Here is the camp site:
It POURED all day on Thursday!!
They had so many fun stands with hippie clothing.
We were right by the water too!
For lunch I got a free grilled chicken salad since daddy is a star! For dinner I had a turkey sandwich that he brought.
Today it was nicer out but it was so muddy so I rocked my rain boots!
My mom and I came prepared with breakfast today!
Lunch was delicious! This is what I got:
Sorry no picture of the actual food!
I spotted some blog food!!
Of course I walked back to the tent 10 different times to get as many samples as possible!
There was also a Mambo Sprouts tent where they had samples of Luna and Balance Bars! They gave out such great sample bags!
Yeah I got 6 or 7 of those bags by the end of the 2 days! They had so many fun goodies inside!
Yay! My roomate is going to kill me because I left her no kitchen space! Oh well!
My mom and I got back to Queens tonight and went out for more sushi! I got miso soup, salad, edamame, a sweet potato roll, and salmon tempura roll! Yum!
The festival was very fun. It was like living in another world for a few days and forgetting about everything else. I would have stayed but tomorrow is my sister’s bachelorette party! I better get to bed because I have lots of partying to do tomorrow night!
Have a good weekend!
