This past weekend, I went to a music festival in Connecticut called Gathering of the Vibes. I went last year too because my dad’s Grateful Dead cover band performed there. He also sells Jerry Garcia artwork for a living. Yes, I have a hippie dad. I love music festivals because it is a couple of days where you can do anything you want and wear anything you want! Everyone was dressed up in all kinds of crazy costumes! They were all probably on acid too but that’s besides the point!

My mom and I decided we should walk around and sell stuff too!
I sold glow sticks and my mom sold tattoos and hair clips that she made.
I made $40.00 in glow stick sales plus I found 10 bucks on the ground! Wahoo! My mom almost made $100! We are already brainstorming about what we could sell next year! Instant cash is very fun!

I don’t have too many food pictures from the weekend but I was able to eat pretty healthy! A lot of the hippies are vegetarians so it was easy to find something decent to eat. One day I got a wrap with lettuce, hummus, guacamole, and black beans.
The next day I got a grilled veggie and feta wrap. Sorry it looks like such a mess!! I did not have a knife!
My mom and I stayed at the festival for 2 days and then decided to head to her condo in Atlantic City. There’s only so much you can do at a festival when you are with your parents! My mom also wanted to be with her twin sister down the shore since their birthday was on Sunday!
Sunday was a beautiful day at the beach. I got another grilled veggie and feta wrap for lunch! This one was more pretty.
I found a Corona in my mom’s refrigerator. I was happy.
We rode bikes for 2 hours that morning. It is nice having a mom who works out every day! She is also a Zumba teacher so we did some dances in the hotel room!

Tonight I am off to Equinox for some intenSati! It will be my first time there as a real member!! Yayy! Have a good night!

Your mom seems fun! I like that my mom works out too – my parents are pretty healthy, except they drink too much alcohol – I can’t keep up!!

I most definitely eat less healthy when I am with my family. That is probably the biggest reason I am glad I won’t be living with them anymore in about two weeks! It is so hard to eat healthy when no one else around you is. And it’s hard to justify buying your own (healthy) grocery’s when you know your family will just do it, even if that means not getting healthy food :/

Looks like a fabulous weekend! I love going to festivals but rarely have a weekend to do it. Last year I went to Outside Lands and had a blast for three days. This year I will be in Vegas that weekend.
My family eats relatively healthy but they eat a lot of meat. I could go days without eating any so it’s a change up when I go visit them on the family farm.
