Hello! The photo shoot went great this morning!! I promise I will talk more about it later in the post! First a recap of Friday because everything I ate was delicious!!!!!!!!!!!
I was a little hungover Friday morning which usually means I crave Energy Kitchen’s breakfast wrap! I knew I shouldn’t spend the money since I had oatmeal in my desk but it was so worth it!
Egg whites with mushrooms, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese in a whole wheat wrap! MMMM!!
I was craving a nice big salad for lunch after the wrap. I decided to keep the good food going and order my favorite salad from Hale and Hearty Soups!
Salad with edamame, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, avocado and carrot ginger dressing.
Once again…another favorite meal of mine for dinner!
Whole Foods!!! I got baked tofu, edamame, carrots, broccoli rabe, grilled mushrooms, fall vegetable mix (roasted broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts), butternut squash, and more! Oh and I tried bbq seitan for the first time and hated it. The tofu is way better there!
Heaven! I decided on no Lite Choice because of the photo shoot (it also bothers my tummy). I had some pudding instead!
It had graham cracker crunchies in there. YUM!
Okay…now I will explain a little more about the photo shoot! Everyone on Facebook probably knows but I did not announce it on here yet!
I sent in a bunch of before and after pictures and wrote up my story again. About 2 months later, they contacted me for a phone interview! They said I would be in the January issue!! So exciting!!!
They said I would have a photo shoot and asked me to pick some of my favorite activities for the picture. I chose Core Fusion and spin. Core Fusion did not work out so we had it in New York Sports Club’s spin room!
Shape sent me 6 work out tops, 6 different pants, and 2 shoes to try on for the shoot! I spent last night trying on every single item until I found one that fit me well. All of the shirts were yellow which scared me a little since I never ever wear yellow! It ended up looking great in the pictures!
The shoot was a lot of fun because I got to have a few friends in the background so it would look like we were really in a spin class! My sister, Dori, and Melanie came with me. It was an Israel reunion!! (I met both Dori and Melanie in Israel and my sister went too!) We can’t wait until some random person we went on the trip with reads it!
We got to the gym at 8:00 in the morning. I was up at 5:40!! The photographers were setting up when we arrived! So cool!
We had such a good time! The photographer was super fun and nice! He kept saying how beautiful and great we looked. He also let us play my iPod which was all fun techno music. So great! Stay tuned for the January issue of Shape!!!!!!!!!
After the shoot we were going to take the 9:30 spin class. We tried to sign up before the shoot and it was booked! There were 9 people on the waiting list. Insane! Instead my sister and I took a Total Body Conditioning class and then did 15 minutes on the elliptical. The class was great! It was extra fun working out in my nice Lululemon gear! First time ever wearing gym clothes from there!
I was starving when I got home so I went to the diner with Jackie and got a yummy veggie egg white omelet!
I also treated myself to a Pumpkin Spiced Latte from Dunkin! Now I am awake! Delicious!!
I am off to go relax! In case you missed it yesterday, I will be posting a question for the next 3 weeks to help me win a vacation to Grenada! Your answers to the question will gain me entries so any help is appreciated!
Question of the day:
Has this ever happened to any of you and how did you deal with the emotions of loss (denial, grief…anger)? Why do men feel like they have to pull away once they get married, please enlighten me!!!!
Have a good rest of the weekend!!

girl!!! you rock!!! I can't wait to see your pic and interview in Shape!!!
it happened to me exactly the same with guy friends… I used to have only male friends until I met and got serious with my bf. I think the problem is that most of my male friends were interested on more than just friend, so when I got engaged, they just lost interest. You know… it's hard to find real friendship between men and women.

God I have so much I want to comment on here! One, that breakfast wrap looks delicious, and the next time I'm near Energy Kitchen, I'm going to try it!
Two, that is SO cool that Shape magazine is doing a feature on you!! Congrats on all your hard work!
Three, to answer your question, I think a lot of guys tend to pull away once they get married simply because their wives don't like them having female friends, plus they aren't as lonely for female companionship anymore. But trust me hun, it has nothing to do with you! I'm always at a loss with my own boyfriend's behavior half the time… and men say that WE'RE the confusing ones!! lol

Congrats on the photo shoot! It looked like a blast, I can't for the January issue!!

that looks like so much fun!
I have the same issue with a lot of my best guy friends when they get girlfriends, they have less time, their girlfriends are jealous, they just stop having girls that are just friends. It is really sad. I actually always had way more guy friends than girl friends until about a year ago. I feel for you.

I was so excited when they had a before and after picture of me in Self on the Editor's Letter and it was tiny so I can only imagine how freaking happy you must be.

like theyAaaaaah! So exciting! Can't wait to see the article! And I don't get what you were worried about- the yellow lookg great!
I went to Lite Choice today and had their new muffins…too good for words.
The guy thing…maybe they feel like they are betraying their wives? I am still trying to figure this out- not with guys so much because most of my friends are female, but as soon as they are married, friendships seem to go out the window

Wow, SO cool that you are going to be in Shape magazine! That picture is awesome too, of the four girls, you looks so good!
Thanks for your kind words on my blog, by the way
Regarding your question, I would venture to say it's the wife that makes the call for their husbands to deny their female friends. Especially ones that are attractive, like you. It's a bummer, and it shouldn't be like that, but it is.

oh my gosh, Missy!!! That is soooo exciting!! You all look smokin' hot, too. Yellow is definitely your color! i can't wait to see the issue when it comes out.
Hmmm….as far as the question goes, this is so me. I love being friends with guys…not that i don't like girls, but there is less drama with guys and they usually like beer more.
But yeah, as they get married the friendship dies down. I think something that's helped me is trying to become friends with the wife, too…that way she's not so uncomfortable with me hanging out with her man!
