Tonight I went to a Foodbuzz event at the David Burke Townhouse to celebrate their one millionth post. At first I thought we would be partying at someones townhouse until I checked the website and found out it was a really fancy restaurant.
Who is David Burke?
Blazing across distinctions between chef, artist, entrepreneur and inventor, David Burke is one of the leading pioneers in American cooking today. His fascination with ingredients and the art of the meal has fueled a career marked by creativity, critical acclaim and the introduction of revolutionary products and cooking techniques.
Burke trained at the Culinary Institute of America and refined his skills in France. Burke rose to fame in the US at the River Café and went on to serve as the Executive Chef for the Smith and Wollensky Restaurant Group where he headed the kitchens of Park Avenue Café and One C.P.S. In December of 2003, Burke opened the neighborhood favorite and now internationally recognized, David Burke Townhouse on 61st Street.
I was very excited to eat at his restaurant! I got there and headed right to the bar of course! The options were wine, champagne, or Lychee Martinis!!! Lychee Martinis are my favorite drink ever so of course I ordered one!
There were already tons of bloggers there when I arrived.
I walked into the main room and there was so much food!!!!!! The first couple of tables had sushi, smoked salmon, and sashimi!
I started off with a salmon roll, smoked salmon, and crab!
Delicious!!!! I also got a glass of wine
They were walking around with lots of appetizers. I don’t remember what this was exactly but very tasty! It was some kind of fish! I think I just loved the spoon!
Next I tried egg scramble with caviar!
Very interesting and good!!
This was another type of fish but I forget what! Maybe I should start taking notes at events like this!
They had huge trays of lobster, clams, and crab too!
More fish!
They also had jumbo shrimps that were amazing!!
I had a jumbo shrimp and lobster next.
I went back for more lobster! Amazinggggg!
They also had briscuit, salmon, and chicken!!
They were passing around some sort of egg appetizer too. Diana had one and said it was very delicious!
I got to see all of my blog friends!!
Sarah from Tales of Expansion, Emily from Eating Chalk, Melanie from MelonCauliflower, Ashley from Healthy Happier Bear, me, and Diana from Soup and Chocolate!
I tried to save some room for the best part….dessert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t even describe this part of the night. It was one dessert after another!! We kept changing spots in the restaurant to get as close as possible to the kitchen!!
First Melanie and I split some sort of baked apple pastry.
Yummmm!
Next we split a piece of red velvet cake!
They brought out cinnabon like pastries served over a fire!!
MMMM!!!!!
That is a cheesecake lollipop in my hand!!!!! Probably the best thing ever.
During dessert, Foodbuzz did a toast and David Burke thanked us all for coming.
I had 2 more lychee martinis
I also convinced Diana to try one since they are the best drink ever!!
The desserts did not stop there….
Chocolate mousse and caramel shooters!!!
Another cheesecake lollipop tree!!
Pineapple cake!!
On the way out, they did not have mints or toothpicks….they had peanut brittle!! Sorry no picture. I ate it on the subway ride home.
This was an amazing event. The food was delicious and it was so great seeing the blog girls again! Oh, I also saw one of the teachers from Self Workout in the Park there! So exciting!
In other news, I can no longer blog at work!! Out of nowhere, almost every website was blocked today! I can still read a few blogs but I can’t comment!! I can’t go on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, or chat on Gmail. I seriously do not know what to do with myself. I have NOTHING else to do at work. My days consisted of blogging, reading blogs, taking surveys (also blocked), and chatting on Gmail. Today I pretty much stared at the wall.
It kills me that I do nothing for 8 hours during the day and now I have to go home and sit at my computer some more!! I decided that I will try to blog at night but I may not post about every single thing I eat anymore. I am sad but there is nothing I can do
I am dreading work tomorrow since I will have nothinggggg to do. Blahhh, hopefully I can figure something out! Have a good night and sorry for my lack of comments!

Oh no that sucks so much Missy!! I totally understand though. JPMorgan used to block everything and I would literally stare at the wall street journal website until i felt like my eyes were going to fall out. and then when I got home i never wanted to go on the computer. hope you find something to do tomorrow!

Looks like an amazing event. All the food looks great, and I’m glad you got to meet up with some bloggers!
Sorry about work and websites being blocked. Ugh. That happened to my roomie, but she used Google Reader to read all her blogs and subscribe to other websites.

I don’t blog a huge amount at work because I get annoyed trying to deal with the program and my pictures on the ridiculously slow, annoying work computer. Often I’ll just type up my blogs in MS Word or another program and then I can post them from home and all I have to do is copy and paste the text and pop in my photos! This way I can still do the writing part at work!

Carlinebee: I don’t think there is Windows Live Writer at work and we can’t download anything
I can just type up my posts and upload later I guess!
Mallory: Yes that is exactly what I will do I think!
Katecooks: Yeah I would understand it more if they actually gave me work to do but they don’t! My boss gave me permission my first day to browse the internet because she knows it can get boring. Booo!

That STINKS about work! I am in the same exact boat as you – well, except I can’t get onto e-mail or Facebook at work. If they blocked my blogs….well, I’d seriously be SOL! Do you have a laptop you can bring and at least get on at lunch?

OMG talk about FOOD PORN!! Sounds insanely amazing. So sorry you can’t blog or read blogs or anything fun at work anymore. I fear that too but I work at a digital ad agency and everything we do revolves around the Web and social media tools. But I do hope no one discovers me!!
