Breakfast
Today was the last day of the promotion at Energy Kitchen for the free breakfast sandwich with the purchase of a coffee. Every day the employees have been very nice and friendly to me. Today it was a guy I’ve never seen before. He gave me quite the unpleasant experience for first thing in the morning!
I walked in and said hello but he did not greet me back. I then asked for the sandwich and handed him the coupon. He read it for a few minutes and seemed completely clueless about the promotion that has been going on for the past 2 weeks. He rang me up and it came to $3.24. Um no. I told him it was $2.17. He did not say a word; just retyped something in to his computer and took my money. I gave him $5.25. He handed me $2.08 back. I told him he was a dollar short and once again, he did not say a word. An apology would have been nice. He just opened the register back up and handed me my dollar. Did he think I wouldn’t notice?
Every other morning, the employees asked me if I wanted condiments for my sandwich. Today he did not ask me or put any in the bag. Usually they put a coffee sleeve around my coffee. He did not give me one so I kept burning my hands on my walk to work. He did not thank me for coming, say bye, or anything at the end. He was one miserable guy! Don’t worry, I already wrote a nice little letter to Energy Kitchen At least the sandwich was still yummy! Luckily I have a full view of the kitchen so I know he did not spit in my food! (I worked in a restaurant and that does happen!)
Thursday Dinner
I said yesterday I used up all my fresh food for the week. I decided to just stop at the health food store and get more instead of eating junk! I got grapes, Oikos, Sabra hummus, salad, carrots, mushrooms and almond milk.
I started off by steaming up some mushrooms and broccoli.
I decided I was in the mood for a protein shake while the veggies were cooking.
Once again, it came out like a milkshake! Yummy!
I then made a salad with mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, Mary’s Gone Crackers, and loads of Sabra!
Delicious and super filling! I loved drinking the protein shake with dinner since I felt like I did not need an extra dessert after! The only problem with drinking it so late at night was that it made me have to pee every 20 minutes! It was like drinking coffee! I don’t know if it kept me up either because I went to bed at 11:30 and was still awake at 1!
Finally I took some melatonin, did a little reading, and fell asleep. At 2:30, I woke up again because I had to pee SO bad. I don’t think I can drink them anymore at night!! I could not fall back asleep and felt a little hungry so I decided to have a bowl of cereal. I know some people are going to say my dinner was not substantial enough which is why I woke up hungry. Honestly I was soo stuffed after dinner and could barely finish my salad. Just the slightest bit of hunger keeps me up in the middle of the night so I gave in and ate.
Those are the evil Jumbo Rice Krispies I’ve been talking about. I had more than that one bowl but whatever. The box is done so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. It did put me right back to sleep though! Now I just can’t let my roommate’s Frosted Flakes tempt me this weekend. Why must she buy the best kid’s cereal ever?? She refuses to hide it anymore so I guess I just need to have some control! Very hard when cereal is around!
Onto a more fun topic…celebrities!
I’ve never mentioned this before, but I get stopped at least once a week by someone telling me I look like Jennifer Aniston or Sarah Jessica Parker. Yesterday during my lunch break, these random old guys said, “OMG she looks like Sarah Jessica Parker!!” I guess our hair is similar but I don’t see it as much as other people do! What do you think?
I prefer the Jennifer Aniston comments since I love her hair. I usually tell the person cutting my hair to make it like hers! I definitely hear Sarah Jessica Parker comments more though!

I hear that I look like Anne Hathaway almost every day. Even Rob thinks so! In high school I used to get told I look like the girl from the show Popular, Carly Pope.

I didn't think you looked like either until you told me that people tell you Aniston, and then I totally saw it! When your hair is straight you are Aniston, when it is curly you are Parker!

That guy was such an asshole! I hate when employees are mean for no reason – so unnessacary.
I was going to recommend some (decaf!!) tea to cure your nighttime munchies – but it makes me pee a lot if I drink it at night, that might be a problem for you as well.
I can see a resemblence to sarah jessica parker and a slight one to jennifer aniston – but I don't think I would have noticed if I hadn't heard the comparision first.

I was told ALL Through high school that i looked like Joey (Katie Holmes) from Dawson's Creek. Most of my friends ended up just calling me joey for most of high school. I'll send some pics later once I get home!

I can definitely see the resemblance between you and SJP – and I think she's gorgeous! I get that sometimes, too, I think just because of my hair. I have also gotten Jewel (do NOT see that one, I think it's just our squinty eyes). No one super exciting.

Ummm…you seem like a nice gal in general, but your account of the breakfast incident makes you sound a little like an obnoxious customer. Writing a letter?! Really? Someone not saying anything isn't really that big of a deal, especially when you're just getting stuff for free..I'd give people the benefit of the doubt unless they're outright rude. Your reaction seems a bit bratty..

Ryan: I guess I was used to the friendliness of the rest of the staff. This guy was very rude compared to the other employees so I think being treated like that at 8 in the morning made me a little annoyed. Everyone can be a brat every now and then anyway
