Erin Baker’s Cookie for Breakfast & Yoga News!

It’s been a busy day here at work, for once! I still have a lot to do but there is always time to fit in my afternoon post!

This morning I woke up and had to burn off some of those Holey Donuts from last night so I did level 2 of the Shred! I missed it the past 3 days because sleep sounded better so it was nice to get back into it! My goal is to do it every day until I go to Florida next week! We’ll see!

Yesterday I looked in my fridge and noticed that my Fage yogurt expired on March 26th so I decided to bring it to work for breakfast today!

I knew just a yogurt would not fill me up so I brought an Erin Baker’s Breakfast Cookie to try! Somehow 12 of the cookies have been in my room untouched! Pretty good for me!

I decided to try the Banana Toasted Flax flavor!

I think I have been avoiding them because I did not think they would fill me up for breakfast like oatmeal does! I was wrong! Look at the size of this thing!

It was big and thick! I was expecting it to be hard in texture but surprisingly it was nice and soft! It broke up very easily into my yogurt!

The taste was amazing!! It was like eating banana bread!!

I also took a while to try the Breakfast Cookies because they all contain 300-350 calories. It is a good amount of calories for breakfast but a little too high if I ate it just as a dessert.

It has wonderful, all natural ingredients!

Whole grain rolled oats, unbleached wheat flour (unbleached wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), prune puree, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, banana puree, brown rice syrup, expeller pressed canola oil, water, roasted flax seeds, chicory extract, molasses, baking soda, pure vanilla extract, dried egg whites, sea salt, soy lecithin, baking powder, cinnamon, natural ripe banana flavor, ground nutmeg.

I was very impressed by the flavor and texture of the cookie and plan to eat this breakfast for the next few days!

I also had 1/2 a banana after just to make sure I would stay full until 1:00.

I stayed just as full as I do with oatmeal! Sometimes I am nervous to try out new breakfasts during the work day since I have my scheduled meal times but this was the perfect combination of protein and carbs. It was completely satisfying!

I went to the gym during lunch and did 25 minutes on the treadmill. I walked for 5 minutes and jogged at 6.3 for 20 minutes. I think I could have kept going but I ran out of time! I reset my heart rate monitor so I think it is finally accurate now!

Calories Burned: 214

Average Heart Rate: 155

Maximum Heart Rate: 177

I think the afternoon is the perfect time for me to try running. Unfortunately I don’t have more than a half hour to do it! Before work I am too tired and after work I feel so full and sleepy that I end up getting a cramp or stopping! Maybe a weekend would be a good time to see how long I can actually run for!

I got back to work starving so I brought out my turkey sandwich!

  • 2 Slices Boar’s Head Low Salt Turkey
  • 2 Slices Alpine Lace White American Cheese
  • Roasted Pine Nut Hummus
  • Spicy Mustard
  • Red Peppers
  • Cucumbers
  • Lettuce

I loved the addition of the red peppers today! It gave my sandwich and a new and exciting flavor!

I also tried one of the bags of chips I received from Medora Snacks!

I brought the Sotos Baked Multi-Grain Snacks!

From the website:

It is hip to be square™. Sotos Multi-Grain snacks pack highly nutritious multi-grains in each little square for a better-for-you snack you will love. Our unique baking process captures the flavor of the all-natural seasonings to give you a satisfying crunchy experience that you’ll want to try again.

I tried a few chips and loved them! They had a light and airy texture. They had the perfect satisfying crunch that I love with my lunches! They were not too salty and had a nice wheat flavor.

There were a ton of chips for only 120 calories! Perfect for my mindless munching!

They have a nice short ingredient list too:

Multi Grain Bits(wholegrain corn flour, rice flour, whole oat flour, wholegrain wheat flour, sugar, salt), Sesame Seeds, Wild Oleic Sunflower Oil, Sea Salt

I would definitely buy these again! I would love to try the other two flavors-Cinnamon Struesel and Cheese, Olive Oil, and Lemon! Yum!

I got a package from my parents after lunch and look what was in there!

Evil! Somehow they are still in my desk untouched! Go me! I did have some Newman’s Own Dark Chocolate instead!!

Yumm! I am also snacking on a pear as I type but that will be it until dinner! I am glad I have the boy to give the Hershey’s Bars to!!

Good News!
Yesterday I found out I won a contest from Vital Juice! I won a one-month membership to YogaWorks! They opened a new location in Soho so I get to go try out some classes there! I tried yoga one or two times in the past and did not love it. I had no patience and my mind was racing just from trying to relax!
I keep reading about yoga all over blogs and how much everyone loves it so I have been meaning to give it another try! This is the perfect opportunity! I am hoping to go a few times a week and hopefully learn to love it! I definitely could use that relaxation! I am just waiting on the pass in the mail now and I will go and try a class out!
Gotta get back to work for the last hour! Here are some contests!!
Meghann is giving away some of the wonderful Erin Baker’s Breakfast Cookies here!!

Jen at PriorFatGirl is also giving away Popchips!!

Congrats on your new yoga membership!

I’m the same way with breakfasts…I am afraid to try something new because it might not keep me as full. Love Fage, though!

Oh my goodness – that is SO awesome about the yoga pass! I’m completely 100% jealous. I did yoga tonight for the first time in a few years and LOVED it. It’s hard because I love my cardio, but it’s incredibly relaxing.

    That cookie looks AMAZING. :-)

  • It seems the weather has turned upside down. Up here in New Brunswick the temp has been in the 60s (F, not C), and pouring rain. And there is no snow in the 7-day forecast, which is unusual for this time of the year in this part of the country.
