Core Fusion Day 1

Hello hello. It sucks to be in the office right now when it is actually sunny for once! Hopefully it stays this way for the weekend! I realized yesterday that I get off at 1:00 on Thursday and have no work Friday so I am very excited! I am trying to figure out something to do that involves the beach. The sun makes me happy. Well on to yesterday’s food since I am stuck behind a computer for the next 6 hours!

Breakfast was a Chobani and Honest Foods Maple Almond Crunch Granola Plank.

I always try to just eat half the plank since a whole one is 380 calories but I always end up reaching in my desk for the 2nd half later in the morning. Oh welll.

I also had Yogi Detox Tea.

I found it in the office kitchen so I figured I’d try it. It does not taste so great.

For lunch, my company provided everyone with a buffet to celebrate the new fiscal year. I managed to get a quick shot with my camera phone!

It was very good! I had salad, an amazing raisin bread roll, chicken, asparagus, peppers, squash and zucchini. They should feed us more often!

I also treated myself to a Diet Coke.

It was so good after not having soda for a really long time!

Later in the afternoon, I snacked on an apple and some Newman’s Own dark chocolate.

After work, Dori and I went to a free Core Fusion class at the Gansevoort Hotel. Yesterday was the grand opening of the Exhale Spa so they offered some complimentary classes. I was very excited when Dori told me that our instructors would be the husband and wife from the Body Sculpt and Pilates DVD that we own! Fred and Elizabeth are the Exhale founders and Core Fusion creators so I knew the class would be a good one.

The spa was very fancy and beautiful. It had a tea bar and small gym upon walking in. My only complaint would be the small locker room. There was not much room for us to change and not enough lockers for everyone since the classes are back to back. They also did not seem completely prepared yet for everyone. The bathrooms had no toilet paper and there was mouthwash but no cups to pour it in. I’m sure this will improve over time.

The Core Fusion studio was much bigger than the one at Physique 57. It surprisingly had no mirrors but did not seem that necessary since the instructors were helpful and payed close attention to every one’s form.

The class was great. We started with hand weights and did several arm exercises. We did thigh exercises with an exercise ball that burned! I had to get up a few times from the position because my legs hurt so bad. We also did push ups and several butt exercises. The ab portion of the class was very similar to the DVD where you hold yourself in a V-position. It was very challenging but felt great after.

Fred and Elizabeth were extremely helpful the entire class. They came around and fixed my form a few times. They did it in a way that was not embarrassing like previous classes I’ve been too where instructors yell out my name. They were so friendly and nice too. I really wish I could take the class more but unfortunately I do not have that kind of money! The new location is right next to my work too! It is so tempting to join! Luckily we are going to another free class tonight! My legs are going to be veryyy sore tomorrow but in a good way!

After Core Fusion, I got home around 9 starving for dinner. I made my favorite quick and easy dinner…a turkey, ham and cheese wrap.

With popchips on the side!

Delicious as always!

I had my last Synergy on the side ! Time to head back to Whole Foods!

I had sugar-free vanilla pudding and a few chocolate chips for dessert :

It is almost time for lunch so I better run. Be back tomorrow with another Core Fusion recap! Have a good one!
